You're on honeymoon. Stop posting on Hijack and hit that gash! :p

Something to get you going  Two Thumbs

The seemingly never-ending streams of Da Vinci load emanating from his bald-headed yogurt slinger soon had me coated like a plasterer's radio. Now, I've seen more helmets than Hitler, but the sight of his throbbing quim dagger made my fallopian fish stock leach like a George Foreman grill. I can't wait to lap the Da Vinci load from his clunger. He arced a giant corn-eyed butt snake on my chesticles just so he could gobble it up like a bulldog eating porridge. The unrelenting orgasms from his blind butler fucking my spunk dungeon made me come so hard, I began sweating like a white mouse in a tampon factory.

Mrs trewhella, come here......

too big a variable, I don't eat fish, turkey once a year, had duck a few times but won't be my choice anytime soon, and when I eat burgers I like bacon AND chicken, ergo twice the animal! although it could be proportional to the sheer amount of livestock over a lifetime?

I found that whole programme interesting. It's true about us not needing as much food as we think. When I quit smoking I put a stone on. I tried to loose it by taking up running and even trained for a 10k and didn't loose a pound even though I was training three or four days a week with long runs, weights and interval training. Since the beginning of July I have been concentrating on diet instead, cutting down on sugar, fat and potion size, while just doing a bit of moderate exercise (yoga twice a week and a long brisk walk with the dog for at least 45mins a day and the odd swim), and I've lost over half a stone already. You tend to worry as a human about getting hungry, but actually it's okay. Half the time it goes away after 20mins or you're just thirsty and need a drink, we become accustomed to overeating and, in the West especially, I think we have a very poor relationship with food... we tend to use it to comfort, to reward, to celebrate, to commiserate and not just to fuel ourselves when needed. I think it's good to take pleasure and interest in food, but like anything, quality over quantity is key.

True say.

I can't remember where I heard it now but I was told a lecturer asked his students why people ate. Everyone answered 'to stay alive', when the real answers are 'enjoyment' and 'to indulge'. You can easily eat one, well balanced meal a day and do perfectly well. Or at least cut down from the obvious 3 down to 2. The impact cutting down on your habitual eating has is massive.

Personally, I've only cut snacks between meals out - and coupled with going to the gym 3-4 times a week for 1.5 hours, I've noticed a difference with just that.

i had a massage teacher who was fond of saying "protein causes cancer", she got cancer, we're made of protein... obviously you shouldn't overdo animal proteins but i'd say thats needless scaremongering, carbs turn to sugar in your body and make you fat.

That program said your body can have a repair mode triggered.
This repair mode can repair neurons in the brain...

I did think after watching that, about all those weekends in my 20s where I didn't eat for about 36 hours must have put me in good stead. Perhaps repairing my body from all the damage done by the substances that actually prevented me from eating for about 36 hours. All balances out  Smiley

fasting is pretty good for calming the mind and thats going to reduce stress, as long as there are no pre-existing medical conditions and you're not overdoing it, probably best not to fast in a chaotic way and not too often but a day or two here and there or a 5 day stint once in a blue moon won't do any harm i don't think, met a man who'd fasted for 14 days once.

True - and I'd love to think that is the case, but that's assuming the brain can manufacture both cells and serotonin at a sufficient rate, simultaneously. Here's hoping  Two Thumbs

Everyone knows CV exercise doesn't make you lose weight.

.....burn off more than you're taking in and you'll lose weight.

The basic maths is, multiply your weight in pounds by 12. That is approximately how many calories you need to maintain your weight. If you want to loose weight create a 500 calorie deficit a day (though diet and/or exercise) for a 'pound a week' weight loss. When you get to your target weight, re-calculate to maintain.

Sadly, it's not as simple as that. There are too many physiological variables in determining your BMR. For example, muscles burn more calories than fat.

It's also not as simple as "calorie deficit" to lose weight - the build up to those calories (in terms of fat/protein/carb split) can have a massive impact on weight management.

So if you weigh 11stone, that's 154lb x 12 = 1,848 calories you need a day to live (for a sedentary lifestyle, obviously if you do manual work or are training you'll need more). If you want to gain weight, I imagine you just work in the other direction.

Meh, I've lost half a stone in six weeks, I must be doing something right.

I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying it's not as straightforward as many people think it is. Good work, btw!

Why am i the only one that seems to be melting today. I feel rancid.

Floately dresses FTW!!  Cool

Not sure what the male equivalent of this would be?  Undecided

When it's hot I sometimes wear shorts, I sometimes wear floaty dress. I do not see why boys don't do the same.

It also gives you more personal space.

It all started this morning with the ride to work up Park St.....combined with smoking and drinking too much last night.

Would leave my commute shorts on at work....................but,
1) they are probably 10 years old and look it
2) my calves look like an albino snake swallowed a house brick, got smeared with glue and rolled around on a barbers shop floor.

I remember at an old office job, one day i wore some shorts (not the same ones) and flip flops. I was told off by a female member of senior management for deviating from the corporate dress code (shirt, trousers, shoes). She had a flimsy dress and flip flops on. Maybe it was the offensive sight of my legs....

When i finally lobbied for the air con to be turned up i was moaned at by fellow female colleagues in similar attire, saying it was too cold! Nobodys fault except an outdated inflexible dress code b2b a particular jobsworth.

Can't wait to get home, cold shower, might even air dry with the fan set to high.....then put my shorts on.

i lost a fair bit of weight by calorie counting too, resolve to eat healthily vanished at speed, was aiming for 17-1800 cal/day but often 1200 of that would be a large cake or a tart more typically... can't say it's the best approach but it did work, lost about two stone, didn't eat cake every day mind.

Yes you are. That's totally what you are saying.

All you fatties should look into intermittent fasting. Once you have a decent control of your diet it will speed up fat loss even more.
By the way, it's fat loss you all want, not "lose weight".

eating enough that your body doesn't go into starvation fat conserving mode is also important... i found about 17-1800 was a good daily amount for me, for women it might be somewhere round 1500 (if 2000 is the rda)... slower you lose the weight the longer it stays off

I read recent research that suggest it's approx 75 hours of fasting before the body goes into starvation mode, which totally blows the "don't skip breakfast" mantra...
