Pete, if you've got Mk2's, take the 'zero percent' ball bearing out while you're at it.

that fucking 'deck doctor' is a joke someone i know had his decks serviced there and it cost him £120+ for one with a new power supply and phono lead, he didn't even fix the brake on it (despite being asked, it was so loose afterwards the platter span at least 2 revs once you pressed stop) and the lead was a 99p job from tandy. And it took him 3 weeks to do it, don't waste your time or money with that incompetent fool.

I know i posted it before he made so angry though that i want to ensure no-one is ever ripped off by the fucker again! technics are fairly eassy to service as they are over 25 years old in design and pretty basic, as long as you are careful and don't overestimate your knowledge yuo should be able to do most things yourself on them, tuning the brakes and pitch is easy!

BTW That Deck Doctor dude's shop closed down about a month or so ago- so it isn't an option anyway (Not that it sounds like anyone was recommending it anyway! ) @spit- does taking out the 0%bb actually remove the wierdness/middle click ting altogether??

Yeah, forgot to mention that the mickey mouse phono lead the the butcher of bedminster put on my deck has broken and needs replacing again. This time with a lead more suited to the beast that is the MK2. Irrelevant if he's shut down now I guess but it would appear the man was/is a tw@t

Just read the comments about the Bemmy Deck Doctor! Won't be going there, but does anyone know how to replace a tone arm, or where I might get this done? It's not right and keeps trying to pull towards the edge of the record, resulting in countinuous and enraging skipping. The only way I can get it to play at all is with the old 1p trick, and even that's not working all the time!
Can anyone help?!
Ta.
Joe
