Hello, fellow people. My name is John and I am a gardener in Bristol. I live in the BS1 area, and have a wife and a small daughter. I'd be happy to meet new people here and to learn something more about the city, as I'm new around. I relocated a couple of months ago from London and so far I like the city a lot. Smiley

G'day John.

We've been around for years but the forum's quietened down a bit recently - make sure you get posting some threads Smiley

Hijackers! Thought I would re-introduce myself... I've been a member on these boards for years now, but just spent the last 7/8 years living in London. I'm now pleased to say I'm back in the west country with my little one - I'm currently based in Bath but back and forth between Bath & Bristol.

I lived in Bristol many moons ago and started a website called 'm32connections' which hosted local artists. This was before the days of Facebook & Twitter etc and myspace was still catching on so it became a good platform to check out the talent the city had to offer. I did this off of my own back as a fan and having a lot of mates in music. Anyway, to cut a long story short... the site hasn't existed in a while but a lot of stuff happened off the back of this. I now work with a lot of artists in the city (I would go as far as saying a big portion, even if it's small bits here and there for some people and more for others). So, I'm always looking to expand my network of everybody's - producers, studio engineer's, promoters, designers and whatever else really. Likewise if you're someone looking for specific kind of vocals, beats, or perhaps have a service that could interest me please get in touch as I'm more that happy to pass on a contact and give my recommendation if I feel something 'fits'.

On a side note, I am resurrecting the m32connections blog and posting new music and some 'news'. I'm by no means a writer, but again it's something I'm taking as my own initiative to do as I feel Bristol is still hugely unrepresented. If it's blogworthy please email m32connections (at) hotmail.co.uk and i will try and blog it when i get a chance.

This is not my job and I don't get paid for any of this so I am often busy being a working mum, so please bare with me if I'm perhaps a little slow getting to things.

I'm glad to be back down here and can't wait to start coming to some gigs! I will be posting more on this board for sure  Two Thumbs

Hello to all.
I am Allison, but people call me Alli. I am from Bristol and I like to work in my garden. I grow my own herbs, tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries and some other kinds of vegetables. I am a fan of edible and container gardening, as you can see. I have a little girl, who I love a lot.

Hi Guys,

Would really appreciate you all checking out my companies new event on Facebook Battle of the Bassline. All about giving student DJ's the opportunities they wouldn't normally get within clubs. Also myself and my colleague who run the events are Students ourselves and we would appreciate everyone checking us out! Also feedback on the types of events people would like to see in Bristol would be amazing! Cheers.

Hey guys,

Firebird Studios here. Just thought we'd get online and show you what we're all about. If you haven't used us before then we're a 6 room rehearsal studio based in Brislington. Myself and my wife Naomi took the place over 7 months ago and have been renovating ever since. We've repainted, recarpeted, bought in some new equipment given the place a bit of tlc and we think it's looking pretty awesome now.

We've also developed the cafe section of the studio and have installed a two group Rancilio coffee machine so you can get a proper cup of coffee here as well as home made cakes, paninis and all the usual crisps, cans and sweets.

We also wanted to know what you guys wanted from a studio. We want it to be something that you look forward to coming to and if there's something we're not doing that would make you come here then we want to know! Most people have asked about beer and we're looking into getting a licence so we can sell that, but anything else and we're all ears!

Here's a piccie to show you what it's looking like around here.

Hope you like what you see and hope to see you around here soon.

Cheers

Charlie and Naomi.

Hey guys,

I didn't even know this existed until my project supervisor at uni (UWE) told me about it... Doh!

While i'm not really into spinning, I have had a go on some CDJs. It was fun and I wouldn't mind having another go some time  Smiley

I'm more into Sound Engineering, working in the studio or on live events, although the latter is where I am more experienced.

I love all kinds of music. I have started getting into drum and bass recently, but I listen to everything really, e.g Rock, Metal, Classical, Blues-Rock, Soul, RnB, Hip-hop, Garage, Grime etc...

I have been working on a short online Live Sound course (targeted at beginners or musicians who maybe want to learn more about live sound) for my final year project, and I really need participants. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in taking part? (It should take approx. 1 hour to complete) Really short on participants and running out of time...  Undecided

Sadly you are about 2 years too late. This forum is pretty dead.

That said a lot of people do still check it. Post this in the main forum. Don't be afraid to keep bumping it.

Good luck, and welcome.

Greetings. We are Alpha Boys School Radio. We look forward to being a part of the HB community. ABSR plays jazz, ska and reggae music featuring at least one student that attended Alpha Boys School in Kingston, Jamaica. Whether as band leaders like Joe Harriott and Winston 'Yellowman' Foster or as members of a group such as the Skatalites, Aswad or the The Specials, it is very likely the same Alpha students have played the same music live in Bristol. ABSR was created to support the school which continues to struggle financially while now in its 137th year providing employment training to young men.
