RANDOM question for the girls of the board...
Where is good to go to in B-Town for getting hair and nails done? When I'm cashed up I know I'm going to want some girly pampering!

Hey, I live in Stokes Croft and love all types of bass music. I produce in electro/dubstep band Kloudbreak, help run Bristol label Drawn Recordings, master lots of material for mates under the name of Subotic and write for Computer Music magazine. That's about it for now. Craig.

hello hijack i'm ben and probably know some of you from dubstep forum (i'm badger over there but that was taken here) i'm not actually living in bristol yet but will be moving there soon so thought i'd sign up and see what hijack's all about. i half heartedly tried to move down from sheffield a year or so ago but didn't really put any effort in if i'm being honest and ended up getting stuck in a year house contract which is just about to end, and that along with my job turning to shit has meant i'm finally taking the plunge

I am an experimental and electronica musician ,thinking of moving to Bristol in the next six months, just checking the scene, I was in a punk band first years ago, have several instruments to male sound with...home studio set up with computer eightrack, synth but want to build proper studio when I move. I am into most types of music except bland pop, opera, gansta rap but i will give anything a listen, really into messing about with soundwaves in soundforg, still using acid pro. i did a years music tech study and am graduate in arts, music tech is what i love,...i am also in experimental electric/acoustic band....mysterial hex with my friend yurt. i do vocals, write strange lyrics, really want to progress with ideas, i am forty one but not time to give up yet....love stuff like delia derbyshire, dnb, trance, electro, electronica, any wierd bands like the cardiacs, leftfield and progressive, even some classical, i started out playing classical guitar at eleven and making funny recordings with an old tape player, really i am into sound distortion, it makes me laugh thinking of people being bewildered in a gig trying to dance with all strange sounds going on .i am mixed race female.

Hi folks, I've just moved to Bristol from Glasgow and no nearly nodoby. Most of the people I have met aren't on the same wavelength when it comes to music, lifestyle etc. I'm 24 years old and my background is UK Hip Hop from the early 90's (Taskforce, Skinnyman, Karl Hinds, Jehst, Yungun, etc etc etc). Back home I go to the now famous Subclub and I like Detroit Techno, House, Dubstep, DNB, Hip Hop etc. To be honest I'm not the most clued up character on exactly what is what, but if anyone wants to pop out for a pint before a night, as I currently cut about clubs by myself like a right sad cunt, please get in touch, or at least let me know and where and when to go.

Hi there. Was recommended this site over at Subvert Central, so thought I'd drop in and say hey.
Soooo......
I'm finally making the jump out to Bristol having managed to blag a free place to live. Bit of a leap of faith really as I'm heading out there to setup a social enterprise (running + curating music and art festivals in Africa) and leaving everything I've known behind in London.
I don't really know the city that well, so would be appreciative of any tips you guys might have for:
- spaces for setting up a mini-festival within Bristol (to raise awareness and money for the Africa festivals) - good and cheap spaces for running a small organisation - general hangouts to eat, drink and meet people who might be interested in getting involved in performing at the festival (both in Bristol and Africa) - could be anyone from speakers, artists, musicians, drama groups etc....
We're a small start up at the moment, but I think we have good potential and have already secured a dream location on an island off the coast of Ghana for the first festival. The more people we can get involved within Bristol the better!
Anyways, any knowledge would be very much welcome!
Thanks.

I really like deep DnB; I love Polar, Klute, Kemal, Tech Itch, Dom, TeeBee (in fact everything from Subtitles and C18) and I adore Soul:r, Hospital, edits, plus a hell of a lot of other stuff. Recently I've been getting into guitars and acoustic and folk stuffs, and also more into Indian and other Asian styles. retouching

Hello...
I'm moving to Bristol on Monday...
Looking to get involved in some music stuff... I play Drum Kit and DJ...
I am looking to join or start or join a enthusiastic band looking to play gigs and do recording. I am into playing drums for drum & bass, breakbeat, latin, techno, reggae, funk and ska...
Anything new and up and coming is what I want to be playing...
Please message me back if you know of anything kicking about that might be interesting...
Thanks
Ben

Hello, I'm Max, i'll be moving to Bristol on Saturday for uni. For the last year i've been a resident DJ at my (only good) local underground dance music club. I've also run and played at my own monthly student night with my friend Pj as half of "Max and Pj Presents..." to promote local DJ talent and to make a bit of money, aswell as 2 one off Friday nights for which we booked Doctor P and JFB. Whilst playing nights in Cardiff, Birmingham and Worcester and Hereford i'm stoked to have supported some legends of the scene, including Aphrodite, Rusko, MJ Cole, Reso, El-b, Spor, Chase and Status and many more. Check out my soundcloud page for my latest mixes and some of my own productions. http://soundcloud.com/rubberdubI'm always looking for gigs, so please get in touch. My email is maxandpj_present@live.co.uk .
