Hello nice people, my name is Griz and I'm 30, I'm actually in Italy but I'll go in Germany soon - I like to play guitar, bass, synth and drum ( acoustic and electronic ) and I'm a Cubase 5 user. I like so much to do collaborations so when I'll have some stuff I'd like to share here and if somebody likes , who knows..... ?
I like a lot of kind of music and I've got 3 soundcard and a little synth ( E-mu 1820m, Digidesign M-Box 2 pro, Tc Electronics Desktop Konnect 6 and the synth is a Wavestation sr rack )
anyway, proud to be here see you

I'm an economic migrant travelling over the bridge or under the tunnel every day from Wales to Bristol. I'm into breaks, D&B, jazz, hip hop, funk and also acoustic music. When I'm not being silly with Fruity Loops I play double bass and whatever I bought on eBay last week. Sometimes this happens live with a good mate of mine from Caerleon called Chupacabra who plays latin percussion. We have a website and stuff but it would be crass to post a link here.
I like to listen to: any old Fused and Bruised, early Squarepusher, Highcontrast, King Tubby, should have started this list with Krautrock probably, free jazz played on Turkish instruments, drones, the sound of no hands clapping at jazz gigs, rain on plastic sheet, ZeroDb, Los Van Van, and you get the general idea.
It's nice to be here. A big thanks to the people who maintain this forum.
Cheers
Bill

Hey Will from Louwax here. We're a new company that designs and sells original t-shirts and artwork for those of retro and/or geek chic disposition! We also do freelance graphic design for bands and musicians, everything from flyers and posters to t-shirts and pretty much what ever else you'd want printed! Although new to the scene, Will (one of our founders) has been living in the south west area for a few years now, in a small town called Malmesbury, which is about 30 minutes away. We really want to make Bristol and the surrounding areas our stomping ground, working with local traders and local musicians to bring something new to the scene. We are currently working with a local band, doing some design work for them, but please feel free to check out our previous work which can be found at the website ( www.louwax.co.uk ) and various portfolio links branching from the home page! We hope to be around for a while and hope to make some new friends and contacts via Hijack!

Borgore's alright, though I think he's a bit of a pain to book as he lives in Jerusalem atm. Not very accessible an all that. Back To Bassics, Season Five, and one or two others should satisfy your thrist for that style of duhbstep.

Hi guys My name is James, I'm from Stroud. I have been into the underground dance scene for a long time especially in bristol, also I am very much into the freeparty scene and festivals, I'm hoping i will fit right in.... My favourite nights in bristol have to be the DMT, Gener8er + The unknown nights. Basically any night with BIG sounds and freeparty vibes!!! My tastes are not limited to that though I also love Tribe of Frog nights, more for the atmospehere than the type of music being played and The Blast nights, mainly because of them always having a HOT lineup!! My tastes in music varies, I Just love music. My true loves are Dubstep DnB and Tekno!! I have been into DJ-ing for about 6 years now and also am involved with an up and coming soundsystem in stroud called MAD sounds.. I have played at a few nights, (concrete dub, bassix-chelt and nu-clear amongst others) but havn't been putting myself out there as much due to me not being focusd on the dj-ing and wanting to go travelling (currently in new zealand) . Upon my arrival to england 3weeks when im back on my feet i plan to move to bristol so i can be around the things i love alot more!!

Hi my name is Daniel I come from Reading and most people know me as dabadan, I've been spinning tunes as a selecter for people since about 2001 I started out with hip hop and over the years have branched out with electronica and reggae dub sounds. I lived in Bath on a boat for about 6 months of summer last year so was quite near to Bristol and know the place has a great music vibe + I have friends who live in Bristol. while in Bath I was involved in throwing a few reggae/dub (& abit of hip hop) free parties in the woods canalside or off my mates boats roof - he has a big old wide beam , dope soundsystem and many years of reggae, roots ,dub selecting under his belt- ItAl the CoOperator. me & ItAl will be running more of these parties and are looking to build some nice big shelters in the woods so the weather won't affect the party. I will come on here and invite everyone when they happen. went to st Pauls carnival last year for the second time and had a great time(Negus moledy sound system smashing it) brilliant carnival . I looks like I may be moving over to Bath again soon to get involved in political activism stuff living in a squatted church that is run as a community social centre and run allsorts of free activities, meetings and other such good things. party there this saturday - CHURCH OF DUB - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=245022839209&index=1 here's the link to my myspace page www.myspace.com/dabadanthe808s if you want to go and check out my 2 mixes that are free to download , laid back lefty hip hop dub and electronica wich have both recieved very good reviews. I've also had a dj night residency for 2 years now and am booked for the whole of this year, every 3rd friday in a venue called the global cafe in Reading with my crew of 4 other dj's. this year is going to be BIG ! looking forward to sharing views , music , art and communicating with the Bristol scene and anyone else on here from where ever. peace

Music taste includes Electronica, Techno, Drum n Bass, Dubstep, Breakcore... lots of stuff basically. I've been scooting about the site for a few years but finally decided to join up to give myself some distraction from essays and shit. Thanks for listening

Heya, Naomi here, I'm 24 and moved to Bristol with my boyfriend last year. We both love festivals and psy trance music among many other types of music, too many to list really. Anywho, we're just discovering Bristol's more underground music scene which is fab :-) This forum seems pretty darn cool

Cheers
Bill

Helloooo!
We are The Trinity Centre and we have been hosting major musical events for over two decades and we are recognised as the birthplace of the Bristol Sound.
We offer a platform for local artists and performers to step up and enrich inner-city life by showcasing their talents.
We are based in a fantastic old church that, through a lot of hard work and a keen eye for what creates a cracking live music event, has become a top gig venue. With the combination of the atmospheric surroundings and the great artists who play here, we've become one of the most exciting live venues in Bristol.
If you've already been to Trinity then you know what we're talking about. If you haven't, then clear your schedule and make coming to Trinity the next thing you do.
Who we'd like to meet: Anyone who loves wicked gigs!
