Should probably say hello here, moving to Bristol in a few months - just waiting for my work to sort out my transfer. Love dnb, techno -minimal/electro and the banging stuff too (technical terms!) breaks, oldskool, jungle...I've liked it all over the years but dnb is my main love; dark, techy, rolling, all the good stuff basically!  I'm moving here because Oxford isn't doing it for me anymore.  Seem to spend half my time going out in London and the other half of it in Bristol, and I couldn't cope with living in London (despite a job offer) so decision was easy.  Can't get here soon enough in all honesty!

Hello,

i'm Greg, i waffle cos i'm in the middle of no-where on extended holiday. I'm new to hijack but not to Brizzle music culture. Me and the wife run the High Pressure Sound-system which has been hurting bones but not ears for years.
Before DJ Pinch went onto a higher cause we used to do Dubloaded's sound, and i've been live sound engineering around town for quite a few clubs & bands (babyhead and others) Also a Producer, Recording engineer, DJ and once a Promoter (Twisted Nightmare).
i'm an absolute ubertechgeek as far as Music tech is concerned, (Music systems engineering degree & 4 years as a Live sound/ Hi-tech salesman in a local shop & own a badboy studio) and love helping people for no reason, so PM me with random questions if you wish.
I'm currently on a break from work on a world tour, and am currently sitting in a motor home in New Zealand (with wi-fi!) So when you wake up, you'll find all the top threads have been replied to by me. (Hijack is my link to Brizzle at the moment, as well as a means to find my lost cat)

See you all in April where my shiny upgraded rig will bring joy to you all that care. Big free party for 2nd wedding anniversary.

I currently run a night in Oxford called Fresh Out The Box - check www.freshoutthebox.net

I also produce a pretty wide range of music, and release under the name Mr Minimax, that stuff is electronica, idm, glitch, techno, dubstep kind of mash up blend... there are a few demo tracks up on here... www.myspace.com/mrminimax and I have an EP coming out soon on www.myuzyk.net which you can download for free from the site.

I also post on Nuskoolbreaks, so hello to any of the guys from over there (already spotted ollspin, hows it going moite)

hello, im Shaun
i live in cardiff doing my degree in music production but im a resident at brand new night,Fracture Clinic, held down in timbuk2 http://www.hijackbristol.co.uk/board/index.php/topic,44425.0.html

used to play breaks but have been playing the sounds of the likes of soulwax/boys noize/anything on marine parade etc for a while. Not to say i dont have love for breaks, got me into dance music as a whole afterall. Loving techno and dubstep at the moment aswell........
Been coming to bristol for years as my brother Gareth used to live there and he introduced me to the citys brilliant nightlife and music scene, found myself coming over as much as possible this year aswell, as aside from one or two nights (notably SUMO), cardiff doesnt touch bristol for the clubbing scene.......

Hi I'm Alasdair aka Big Reggae Al aka Al Greezy aka Lock Up Ya Daughters aka Shaggy(from scooby doo) aka George W Kush aka Aramis aka okay thats enough...

I have just turned 26 and am in the race to achieve as much shizzle before the stigma of being 30 dawns upon me. And if this includes sleeping with lots of 19yr old hotties then so be it..

I am primarily cruising HiJack because I am on a Crusade Of UK HipHop.... i do bookings, PR and i dabble in promotions..  and if youve been to any of my events then you know im not chatting breeze when i say they are some serious tingz rudebwoy. I have just been offered a DISTRIBUTION DEAL  Pimp yep... defnitely worth putting in capitals as i hope to capitalize on that opportunity.. I am obsessed with Bristolian HipHop.. i highly recommend, Buggsy, Kelz, RE, Ceaze aka Series, Koast, Social Conscience, King Aggi and Sirplus.
I'm looking to get as many bookings for my artists as possible... so if u need energetic, authentic and decent rap gimme a shout.

Secondly I am on HiJack because I'm unemployed and I think I am already addicted, its a powerful combo (no job and hijack) and a slippery slope, yet im still in the honeymoon period where it still gives me a buzz and i can carry on in denial.

Here is a photo of me incase you wondered what my chest hair looks like (im the really goodlooking one) (one the left)  Grin

My myspace and youtube are worth checkin perhaps both are /bigreggaeal

I welcome private messages from random weirdos... ask me anything!

I am the dude behind a project called WildFire i have been involved with and pushed almost a dozen different bristol HipHop cds.. if u ever see this logo you know it's me, and whatever it is i am rep%n some serious izzle... here is the logo:
Love

You will find me in The Cadbury pub in Montpelier or at the monthly HipHopLounge nights @ RedRoom, as well as Shoestring, Rukus and Cut n Paste or driving about in the GreezMobile:

Warro! Youngster at 19, but moved to Bath 18 months ago, been enjoying the sounds of Bristol regularly. Mostly into hip-hop, dubstep and dnb but also liking the jazz, classic rock, funk, soul, etcwhatever. DJ under the moniker Ezar but I suck, so don't worry. Brought here by Tekton Naggar from dubstepforum, presume this is a hib for all things Bristol and music. Sounds perfect! Other than all that, I do a Creative Writing course which is starting to actualise some great potentials. But who knows, just down for the good times.

Nice to meet you, I do say!

Hello, my name is Tom- This is the first forum I've got involved with so I might need a bit of help getting things like the animated footers setup,  The aliens/ Pendulum one at the top of this page is class; how do you do that? (fair point too)

I'm 23, DJ- strictly bedroom at the moment but I've played out and about under various psudenims over the last 3-4 years playing regularaly in Cardiff/ Oxford and London.  I've traditionally been DnB/ Dubstep but since investing in a set of CDJ's I've found I'm far less restricted in  what I buy, as long as its Bass heavy and has a nice industrial sound I'm happy.

I moved to Bristol December 07, I work alone and my mates here aren't really into decent music so I've joined this in an attempt to get more involved in the Bristol underground scene, hear what other DJ's are doing with their sets and see what you producers are creating.

Also, if anyone has enough time- would some one translate all the "IMO, TBH" stuff that goes on here.  I feel like I'm fuckin 40

Hya,

My name is Paul and I play for the band The Mudheads.

We regularly play in and around Bristol and are said to be great fun to go and watch. Basically, we take well known songs from decades like the  70's & 80's and really rock them up. You aint heard 'Tainted Love' until you've heard us play it...or 'Turning 'Japanese' 'Rebel Yell'....and even......cough!...'Crazy Horses' (and no we don't play smegging 'Puppy Love'.)

This is the kind of music that students love!!...oh, and we got recommended by The Times.....smug mode!

If you are looking for a fun night come and see us at one of our gigs.

Drop us a live at www.themudheads.co.uk and we can add you to our mailing list.

Take it easy

I didn't see this before, er

Seth, 19, at uwe, music tech n that. I produce, mainly Dubstep nowadays cos it is the balls, I'm slowly getting to an acceptable standard :-)

Didn't really like DnB before I came here, but I fell in love with the dark stuff at Dissident which was cool. From essex, so Bristol is BLOODY GOOD for music n that :-).

I really like walking around with no shoes on in the summer, and digging REALLY deep holes on the beach.

Safe.

Hello Smiley

You would have loved The Croft on Saturday - hours of Bassline from Spiney  Cheesy, it's a bit late now tho! Definitely come to Bodynod in June - the line up's amazing

If you want to find Bassline and Grime in Bristol - just stalk Blazey  Two Thumbs

Hello all. Been browsing this forum for a while now and I thought it was about time I said hello and introduced myself. I'm 19 and currently a chef at the Glass Boat on the Welsh Back. Music wise, i'm into a lot of stuff but mainly into UK Hip Hop, Dubstep, Drum'n'Bass/Jungle from the 1992 to 2003 era and old school Garage. I'm a housemate of that little creature Roz (or Weasle some of you will know her by) and I have to say, Bristol was everything I thought it would be. Just a big pile of mess, with great nights going on every weekend! Well done! Anyway, I better be off to work. Easy

Hi all Smiley I'm Yannick, 36 years old dj from Strasbourg/France. Spinning different styles of music, I nevertheless prefer broken musics (d'n'b, electronica, breakcore, hiphop, electro, breakbeat, etc.). I'll soon open a thread with links to my mixes. Anyway the best way to have an idea about my musical preferences  Cheesy Apologies if my english is poor, but as you can guess, I'm french  Grin

hello there hijackers. I'm pretty new to Hijack, just gettin a feel for it. I'm especially into my techno (minimal/deep/tech-house/dub-techno), but also love dubstep, electro, rock'n'roll, reggae.... I DJ techno/electro (tending towards dark, melancholia but with plenty of funk & heavy bass) under the name Doris Lush. i've only played out a couple of times (at our collective's night: Deepbeat & at a few parties). Am keen to get into promoting in Bristol - would love to put on a techno-flavoured night as there doesn't seem to be much in Bristol that doesn't take place in proper clubs (I'm more about the low-key :-) ... Am always interested in suggestions. In fact, i've only met one person in bristol so far who likes techno!! there's gotta be more of you than that!

also, If anyone's got any tips for good techno nights in Bristol (i'm aware of tape, cuisine & the awesome under_score) then i would be truly grateful.
