looks really good. How do you do the wire wool spinning?

Get a chain or stiff wire and attach either a bird feeder or whisk to the end.

Fill the end with a golf ball sized bit of wool and light it. Spin that mother till it burns out.

That looks mental, I'm gonna try that.

Did you stuff it with cotton wool, or knitting wool?

I tried the smoke picutre ages ago. Pretty cool. You been reading practical photographer?

Wire Wool Attempt 1 by isimba, on Flickr

My first attempted at wire wool. I thought the area was quite damp but a spark went under the rock and started a little bit of a fire. The person with the camera panicked hence the light. Will try again this week.

Nice. Really like some of these. The pills in the pot and the UV needles expecially.

Its part of our Modern Apprenticeship on photo imaging we get at the end of my course. (they want us to come out with a civillian equivalent qual)

We got given two subjects and had to choose one. Then take 10 images and give a presentation on them all. All the research and info has to be kept as well for reference.

I chose Medicine.

Cheers.

Its three pictures of smoke from incense sticks against a black background lit with a nikon SB900 speedlight form the left. Put them into photo shop and whack them all on screen blending mode. Adjust the hue/saturation of each layer to suit your taste.

Took this last week-

Cheers man. These photos were nearly ruined as I dropped the camera out in the street. The back popped open and mirror smashed and then when developing them I was draining the coffee mixture from the developing tank, and managed to let the negs fall into the sink. Thankfully these survived.

First day out doing touristy stuff in Erbil and went to look at the Citadel. Was how I expected Iraq to look when I first came out here. Not all the shiny new malls I have been spending my time in.
