Hello to one and (tro)all,

As a long term lurker/sporadic poster I feel the time has about presented itself to take the final clunge and register as a full time 

I have lived in Bristol for 9 years now, however I moved away for three years to go to uni Cardiff. Having recently graduated and found myself thrust back into the welcoming bosom of the city, I feel a need to get re-acquainted with what's going on. Musicwise I have incredibly eclectic tastes, but I tend to favour electro, techno and warehouse when DJing/clubbing, having got rather tired of the drum n bass scene through attending one two many 'Infidelity-esque' gash soirees from the age of about 15.

During the time that I was in Cardiff I co-organised and was a resident DJ at regular night C-Y-N-T, playing with the residents every Thursday and with big names at the weekend -  (I won't digress to a ego-jerk of name dropping). Since moving back to Bristol, however, I've had to give all that up to take up a job writing for/sub-editing iDJ magazine. It's a very weird sensation feeling like a stranger in a city you've essentially lived in for such a long time, but I thought I'd register on Hijack as a first (potentially rather misguided) step to getting back to know the place.

Yes, I realise that. I am also aware of the Warehouse nightclub in Chicago etc. Just for some reason I thought the term was more attributed to techno... but it is entirely possible that I'm wrong.

Actually Warehouse is a term I've been indoctrinated into using by my editor, and refers to the bass-heavy rinse out tunes no-one seems to have come up with an appropriate name for yet. Think Jack Beats, Escobar and Vito, WOnK, AC Slater, Bass Kleph and your somewhere along the right lines. Tracksuits optional.
