I've not found it particularly challenging though. The AI of the guards is pretty poor on the mid setting. I doubt I'll give it a re-run to find out what they are like in hard mode.

Just waiting for xmas to come and Hitman will be with me then.

I started off on hard straight away on Far Cry 3 and it's far too easy. Bit of a shame really because it's a fantastic game.
The good news is...... Hitman on anything above normal is fucking solid!

I love the Hitman series. They have never been easy and even on easy modes, trying to pull off a hit undetected is almost impossible.

They're bringing out an HD collection in January.

I am aware of this. A mixture of  I'M SO ANGRY! (mo money) and  Love  because the HD games are pretty good looking and I thought the last PS2 one (Blood Money) was a very good looking game.

re: Crysis 2:: scrumptious, re: Cypberpunk ( I know you were talking Witcher really), I can't believe it's so far away. Might give Hard Reset a go for the time being to satisfy my cyberpunk gaming needs.

re: Witcher: I gave the second one a go and decided I'm shite at games cos I kept getting stuck near the start.

Ok, this is getting really good.

No one else had a go? Is this a forum of console shooter types? I expected more

But I'm still hooked on this.

I have yet to find a game that leaves me in such depths of despair or such highs of excitement

Just put it a few hours of Far Cry3, loving it do far. Think next play though I might stick to not scoping anything as it's pretty easy so far.

Hitmans third act went full retard. Wasn't compelled to replay it at all.

Any one had a go at this? Done the first 2 cahpters, and pretty damn good little story. I already hate one of the characters, (he tried to kill me) which is pretty good going for a bunch of pixels

Finished.

Pretty damn good, and definitely emotionally affecting (when I found out a character had been betraying me, I had to step outside for a cuppa) although ended on a bit of an anticlimax, or perhaps a cliff hanger.

Worth a go though.

As a PC gamer. no I'm not.
I already have a media PC plugged into my telly so it can't help there either.

I have no place for OUYA in my life.

But for people with no games or media function on their tv the are all win.

New Games & Thoughts:

Tomb Raider - Took a little while to get into but its now everything I was looking for in a tomb raider game. Expansive empty tombs, quick fire and engaging combat, Lara Crofts arse, and the most gorgeous environments graphics this side of Crysis 3!  Love

Bioshock Infinite - as usual Bioshock has excelled in ingame story telling, and given it the most beautiful fantasy backdrop. The beginning 15 mins of this game left me speechless! I love how there is no text to read and no cinematic cut scenes yet you manage to somehow come to your own directed conclusion based on character and world events. MOST other games could learn a thing or two here! Unfortunately it seems after the first two thirds of the game combat is a little repetitive and 'shooting gallery'.  Roll Eyes

DAY Z - OH MY DAYZ this is the most time consuming and tense game I have ever played! takes a little bit of getting into but if you have ever enjoyed a role playing game it will come naturally. Try playing straight for 5/6 hours and stockpiling various amounts of loot, getting to that place on the map you thought was folklore only to be killed by a chance swing from a random zombie, and then see how long your tv screen lasts without a keyboard in it! ANYONE ELSE PLAYING THIS? It would be wicked to link up on a server, let me know.  Pimp

Dead Space 3 - Also amazing story telling as well as graphics, all my friends will happily sit and watch me lpay it for hours as its like watching a beautiful film! Similar mechanics to other dead space games, though I dont like the introduction of raw materials to upgrade. If it aint broke dont fix it! Undecided

Crysis 3 - Why oh why did they put a DX11 restriction on this? As far as I can tell it is to make it look as good as possible AND stop a certain amount of piracy. Anyone with a relatively new DX11 capable card must have some dollar and therefore can probably afford the game. WANKERS!  I'M SO ANGRY!

When was the last GREAT Lucasarts game? For me it was TIE Fighter, but you might say Day of the Tentacle, the Dig, Jedi Knight I + II or a couple of others. Do you know how old those games are? Go look it up, you'll be horrified. Lucasarts as an in house developer hasn't done much that can live up those classics in nearly a decade.

Knights of the Old Republic RPG was made in collaboration with Obsidian, which is exactly what they're proposing to do from now on. And if you know your computer games, this is some of the best news ever.

Just like Games Workshop spreading licenses around now that THQ have died. Soon we'll have loads of choice with the Warhammer games  Love

I am very late on this but I've just got around to playing Bioshock 2 on the PC.

WHAT THE FUCK is going on with not having radials or being able to pause to select weapons/plasmids.  The thing about bioshock 1 that made it different was clever use/combination of plasmids/weapons.  Now it is more or a run and gun, pick your best plasmid/weapon and stick with them type affair.

The fact that they kept radials for the console versions is even more annoying.

I'm no fan of FPS really, but I thought Bioshock was brilliant. Bioshock 2 though was nothing special, you already know the story, so it is just a money making exercise using the existing architecture of the game. I played it for a bit and gave up due to lack of interest.

Far Cry 3 is quite good though. A bit bland as it is all tropical island and therefore lots of greenery and beach. Storyline isn't great, but I like the game, a bit like RDR meets Assassin's Creed in FPS.

I'm loving Far Cry 3. Not for storyline or setting but for the randomness of it. It is a true sandbox

Is Far Cry 3 better than 2? I loved the first one when it came out and then bought 2 a few weeks ago (I'm about 5 years behind with games!) without looking at any user reviews beforehand (big mistake) and it is utter rubbish. It's looks kinda nice and the setting is fairly original, but you basically just do the same thing over and over again. It's like they thought making it a sandbox style FPS was enough and that people wouldn't be bothered that there wasn't any storyline or feeling of progress whatsoever. The orignal managed to feel really free-roaming but you still felt like you had a distinct path and mission to complete.

I wasn't particularly taken with GTA IV, although I did finish it, but I'm expecting more from V, mainly because I loved San Andreas more than almost anything, ever. I'm really not keen on the sound of switching between 3 characters - part of the appeal of earlier games was the feeling of going on an epic journey from nobody to somebody, but that's totally gonna be watered-down with this system. Judging by this article I'm not the only one who thinks this.

This is pretty nuts though: " The piece states that Grand Theft Auto V is the biggest open-world Rockstar has created to date; bigger than Red Dead Redepmtion, San Andreas and GTA IV combined" - I never really got to know Liberty City in IV because it was so big, but that was partly because I didn't play it so much. I knew every inch of San Andreas.

What is everyone thinking about E3 so far?

When i comes to new consoles the decision has been made for me - Ps4 is £75 cheaper and plays used games. Plus XBONE has the creepy possibly always on kinect thing

And MGS5 looks amazing and ridiculous in equal measure

Microsoft are apparently trying to kill off consoles. Why anyone would get it over the PS4 is beyond me.

But then why anyone would buy a console over a PC is beyond me too.

so what will happen in the next 8 years of gaming? MS are guessing as well but their offering is truly horrid and blatantly designed by committee, but once a game is loaded it will be just the same as ps4.

PS3 gambled with the blu ray drive and cell CPU which meant it cost more. It almost killed a huge chunk of Sony but they survived.

I'll stick with PC thanks.

Fancy lighting etc isn't that big a draw for me, I just want well thought out challenging games, not Demon Souls type of challenge, that is just stupid, but intriguing and with a good story line. Too many games have repetitive actions (like Far Cry 3) or corridor shooters which don't require much thought. What happened to puzzles and action?

I don't need a PC for gaming as I play about 5 hours a week and a thousand pound rig would be a total waste on me. Consoles provided immediacy and a stable platform without the worry that I'm not getting the most out of the game because the graphics card is a year old.
