right there's not enough conversation on this board at the moment...so...

Who's coming to ashton court next weekend? Any hijackers out of bristol at the moment who are coming back for it? For those who have never been it's always an awesome event...great atmosphere, quite a lot of good music & interesting multimedia-type stuff........and for 3 Shocked....COME ON!

i'll definately be there! decoy and myself will be playing a set on the dance stage / tent (whatever it is), representing Timecode with 3PO on the mic.

if the weather can stay as nice as it has been for the last couple of days (fat chance  Roll Eyes)it will be a wicked weekend...

see you there!

The headliners are the likes of Kosheen, Stanton Warriors, Aspects and recently elusive indie outfit Reef (mainly because they didn't turn up to Essential, allegedly cos they didn't get paid).

As Obscene says, Timecode will be representing (special big up to the 3PO from the L.H. Grin), the Drive By DJs are listed and there's also a Full Cycle ting (with Die & Tali). There's obviously a shagload more but I can't remember, you'll just have to buy a programme  Wink

Regardless of the lineup, the festival always has a wicked community vibe and if the weather's like this it will be amazing... just don't forget the Factor 20 girls and boys!

See (some of) you there xx

Also.. please please try and find the time to take an hour out of the DnB and go and check out DJ Compulsion. If you havent listened to any hardcore in the last few years - then you might be in for a pleasant suprise.

Ah well its worth a try!

Ashton court was fun, yayiss!

I was a bit gutted that Locus crew weren't there but delighted to see Timecode representing cos I got up late and forgot it took about 6 hours to walk from my house to the Court so I missed their first set. Seeing a motley crew of junglists and others bopping away in blinding sunlight was a very surreal experience but it warmed the very cockles of me heart... unfortunately just as I was thinking about doing my thang on the dancefloor/field, the dnb stopped. Double poos.

Highlights of the weekend for me included some little kids all blinged up and dancing to RnB, Stanton Warriors, Godzilla vs Hedora and Fingathing. I gave one of my flatmates a big log as a present and he carried it all the way home (at least that's what I assume as it was in our house this morning). I also managed to fall over some squatters in the dark which sent me flying about 6 metres. Miraculously, no-one was hurt.

PS log as in wood, not poo.

yeah, blame the accident that closed the M4 at Reading and ended up making me go through oxford and cheltenham, with my journey time from london becoming 5 hours instead of 2 and a bit  Cry

mark obscene was on hand to cover for me though, he's kinda locus crew too, seeing as i went to school with him!

Much fun was had by all to be sure - thanks to all those who performed on stage and otherwise to make my day joyful and bright.

I pickled my mind somewhat on saturday to the extent that I only made it down to fingathing on sunday, who thankfully were as boomting wikki-wikki plate as I'd expected.   I appreciated a lot of the blackout peeps on saturday - well done that lot on the AV tip - and thumbs up to trace and the r&b/2-step crew for bringing jailbait flavas to my saturday afternoon.

God bless bristol and god bless ashton court.   That walk in the burning sun is too damned long though - they should move the festival to broadmead I reckon.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the hippies, and the location, Jimma & Strepsil. It would be so much better if it were in Broadmead (maybe the acts could perform on top of that stoopid million-quid plastic and canvas Broadmead sign that is allegedly meant to look like a boat). The community atmosphere between Superdrug and BhS would rock my world, and there's sure to be less dirty vagabonds and peaceful flowerchildren and more gangs of youths stealing our wallets without having to worry about getting their new trainers muddy. Of course, no one would be able to take drugs or drink on the streets (phew) AND you could get lovely McDonalds instead of some organic healthy toss. Yay!

Why not have it by those lovely fountains in the centre just opposite the hippodrome? If ever there was a place that 500 dreadlocked hippies and students and vegetarian "modern parents" would be made to feel at home, surely that's it? Cheesy
