training exercise to create a media spectacle , 4 people in a building, some of which got abit gobby possibly . ties in nicely with anti squatting law thing and anti protest anything in general . I know alot of people who where on the frontline and people who have lived in telepathic for along time not the recent additions since they partied the place before eviction day (wednesday)

the chant of the night who's streets our streets.

I stayed at home as I didn't want to get caught up in the madness.

people learned that night that they can take on the police if they have the numbers, and if it happens again riot shields and battons and pepper sprays will be pulled from the cops and burnt, I don't wanna see cops having rocks and bottles thrown at them, I don't want to see anyone hurt , but untill the police serve the people first instead of a select few super wealthy folk who are actually vile evil greedy fuckheads.

tesco should be targeted  not coz of some bollox gentrification of an area of bristol but simply because they exploit farmers and producers of goods all over the world everyday and in this country we can stand up and speak out for those who get shot down far away if they try to stand up to exploitative ways.

when the placards and peacefull anti war marches don't stop shit then smashing shit like stores of corperate crooks and burning police vehicles makes the ruling elite worry when that'll get brought to their private home.

I was there the next days sitting on the step by telepathic chatting to 3 high ranking officers about it all, me and various people who live at telepathic , the cops were fine and know they are being screwed by the torys like us all, cops will unite will the common people of this country as soon as we design the way for them to do it easilly and have the army on side aswell.

more revolutionary info soon come.

Hey yes serve the people!

Fuck Tescos staff who were stacking shelves all evening. They're all evil people. Let them get petrol bombed - capitalist scum!

Why don't we make a list for the police of local baddies and make sure that the police don't bother with any of them, and just serve us goodies

Nice.

I read the bit about how the Stokes Croft riot was architected by a shadowy cabal of Whitehall based puppet masters in a last gasp attempt to save the coalition. Proper lulz.

Umm, you did?

Remember a few posts back when you said "Uk-uncut.... USuncut...... lol at that shit, might want to check who funds these cnuts"

And then TimeStretch said...

"Who funds those cunts then?"

And then you said...

"well... they also fund the tea baggers and many other far right groups in america and the edl and the wdl here (there has also been mention of bnp too), it starts with G ends with P and have been in league with the labour party since the early 90's, they use church orgs and groups to push through their ideas and side step taxation in the progress."

Would be fair to assume you meant the Grand Old Party?

UK Uncut have nothing to do with republicans or right wing politics, as I said before they are all long time left wing and green activists, and are fighting spending cuts and Tory politics. They are explicitly left wing, so why would they want to take funding from the republicans? All this is besides the point, they are unfunded anyway.

If you're going to "look beyond the every day" and take a sanctimonious know-it-all attitude when talking about the "ignorant middle" members of the biggest left wing direct action movement around today, it would help to keep a level head.

this one is the best so far Smiley "If you're going to "look beyond the every day" and take a sanctimonious know-it-all attitude when talking about the "ignorant middle" members of the biggest left wing direct action movement around today, it would help to keep a level head."

I cant even see why you took the time to incorporate it into your post? just so you could call me the sanctimonious know it all?... proper jokes im having here  Laugh

if your gunna take the time to try to understand , u really should go the whole hog.

AND yes those middles are ignorant , and they aint the biggest nothing, bunch of pussy cnuts imo.. i dont need to keep a level head on this one mucker , im way above it, this is why i attack them verbally when i see them in the street with their tables and leaflets (all paid for by labour)

so, another fuk you from me, and remember your stuck in that everyday, it controls your very thinking, and thats good because we need robots.

good day to you sir

Fuck Tescos staff who were stacking shelves all evening. They're all evil people. Let them get petrol bombed - capitalist scum!

Please explain in a few short sentences why the people who work in Tescos are evil. I'm assuming you have a reasons for saying this, seeing as you are advocating their murder for the good of society.

I'm pretty pissed off with capitalism myself on a global scale but I also work for the Royal Bank of Scotland. Oh no, how terrible of me. But after nearly a whole year of having 1-2 days a week of shitty temp jobs and not enough money to move out of my parents place, RBS gave me a job that pays well and is just entertaining enough not to jump out of the window. So I can now contribute to society, pay my taxes and spend some money to make the world go round.

Should I be hung like the rest of the bankers? No because you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. I work because I need to. The crustie shits in Stokes Croft (I'm placing you in this category but I don't like making assumptions - apologies if you were one of the dicks who just came down to riot) don't work, not because they feel it is against their moral code, they do so because they want to be different. I want to be different too, but I don't want to stink of shit and play bongos while doing it. It's you little pricks who've made Stokes Croft a worse place, not Tescos. I like the PRSC and the art and the quirky life style. It's quaint - like Clifton for poors. But you are not better than everyone else and have no right to speak for the rest of the community.

I think you might have missed a touch of sarcasm

Anyone who thinks this whole thing achieved anything good for anyone (well anyone who likes their local area and community and prefers it when people get along with each other and the police, who we pay to serve us!) is an idiot.

You mean other than it's demonstrabaly harmful to society (the cost, risk to fire fighters lives, disruption to locals, environmental damage, loss of jobs for normal people etc) and illegal? You live in a democratic society. There are plenty of ways to protest if you don't like something. You have a duty to uphold and respect the law or certainly ones in place to prevent harm to other members of society.  If you feel people arent listening to your protest perhaps you should question if it is purely because the majority disagree?
Where does that end anyway? I know few low life cunts, the police dont do much about them. Can I burn them out? Or if I take a disliking to a head shop for corrupting children, can I decide to burn that out?
I assume you meant that to be a little tongue in cheek but if not then seriously? What the fuck do you think it will achieve? It sounds like something an angry 16 year old would say.

I thought the "Why don't we make a list for the police of local baddies and make sure that the police don't bother with any of them, and just serve us goodies" bit sort of gave it away but hey maybe you're right. I sure some people would support the top bit.

Sadly it seems there are folks around who think that any Tesco employee is a legitimate target for violent direct action.

So lazy of people to say the police are defending 'corporate power' versus the local community.  Any business under threat of violent attack is entitled to protection from our police. Thats all.

The policing you saw at Tesco's is gun and badge policing. no effort high visibility. easy policing. it's monkey work.

Them acting in a high profile way here gives the impression to flap mouthed giglets like yourself that they are something other than a useless bunch of hedge born apple john's.

If Avon & Zummerzets finest actually gave a cocks arse about fighting crime and protecting businesses then they should be doing a lot fucking more than being the the personal flirt grills of full gorged gudgeonous cack handlers like Tesco's.

So, going by what the residents have to say in this article, the police genuinely believed that they were looking for petrol bombs and calmed down when they realised the residents there weren't involved with any. I'm presuming they then left, but had to come back due to the riot starting and getting out of hand.

I maintain my opinion that the police were obviously acting on information they were given. It may have been an extreme reation to the information, but I presume they felt that on a busy bank holiday night, they couldn't afford to take any chances. This I can understand.
I'm not sure why some people are so adamant to read between the lines and pluck out theories from thin air. I refuse to believe that there are political motivations behind all this. I really think it is as black and white as the police reacting to something, getting it wrong and then poeple using this as an excuse to fight the police, cause carnage and trouble and trash their neighborhood.

So many people hate the police. Some with good reason, but others hate them for no good reason. All this cleche 'Fuck the police'.....'fucking pigs' etc etc. When I was a teenager who broke the law day in day out for years, I felt the same. Then I grew up, travelled the world a bit and realised how fortunate we are to have police who behave (on the whole) morally. You will get the odd one who will act inappropriatly, perhaps driven by adrenalin and fear, or perhaps because he's a sadistic twat who shouldn't be in the police....but those are a minority. The majority of police in our country are here to support and protect all communities.
Those without good reason to not trust the force and are convinced that they're corrupt should travel to mexico, thailand, or other places in the world where the majority of police are pretty fucking ruthless and genuinely should be feared, and sometimes not trusted

I do have sympathy for the residents if they had no actual involvement but it must have been pretty impossible for the Police to know that those inside the building had no connection to the people on the roof (who most definitely were protesting against Tesco).

So I can now contribute to society contribute to the very system you hate??? and you think that makes you a good citizen? just as bad as the tesco's employees who knowingly add to the shit. (btw i dont agree in any way about attacking those people, but i cant see any good reason why all tescos and asda'a aren't burnt to the ground)

What Planet are you on, this is not a democratic society. my vote is worth 0.06 of a vote. you want to wake up. and yes burn them all down, and the bbc and labour hq and all the union hq's too. and my only duty as a citizen is to ensure those with less than myself are not treated like cnuts.. anything less isnt citizenship, its subordination . good citizens dont join in with a system that promotes inequality, you may your own idea on what it is to be a citizen, but iif it doesnt fall into that remit then it isnt citizenship full stop.

ok, just wanna get this a little bit straightened!

hundreds of police turned up, all in riot gear, most of them were not from avon and somerset most probably had to travel an hour or more to get here!!

and they were there before the riot happened?Huh  WTF.

so the police travelled for more than an hour with full riot gear for a riot that hadn't even started yet.

they definitely wanted a media piece otherwise they wouldn't have started a riot huh.

^ that is my house mate Kryton  not Ras Search .  I live in a squat to , I must be terrible ..

the high ranking officers were passive intelligence gathering when chatting to us , but they clearly stated that the tory hq was allowed to be smashed in the london riot as the police don't like their bosses also the officers said the media will never photo them chilling with us on the steps the day after as they only want the tension smasshy smashy and fire pics.

I have no problem with tesco staff at all and no one see's them as targets  the bosses / owners of tesco however that's a different matter all together.

It's quite obvious (to me) that the police were given a tip off that something big was going to happen. It was a bank holiday, it was going to be busy. They were prepared for things to kick off because they were given information suggesting such. As noodle stated before, there were far too many masked rioters for some of them to not be opportunistic passers by. Do you really think that the Bristol riot police would start a riot, and that other riot police from surrounding counties would willingly join in because they had nothing better to do? Stone the flamin' crows.....what would they have wanted a media piece for exactly? To achieve what?
'Lets start a riot for no good reason so we can nationally embarrass ourselves'......I don't think it works like that somehow.

why does it have to be a tip off? why cant it just be a fix? after all thats been written in this thread- there is just as much evidence for that as their is for it being random.

Because there is no reason that makes any sense for it to be a fix. No motivation whatsoever unless it was (and this is incredibly unlikely) ordered out of whitehall.

They didn't neccesarily start it on purpose..people seem to endow the authorities with more cunning and sense than they actually have...in general the old bill are pretty stupid and your average bobby would find it hard  to grab his own arse with both hands...

Recent history shows that their solutions to public order problems usually are worse than the problem itself..

The most striking thing is that Tesco don't just say.."oh well it's plain we are causing more problems than it is worth and we are obviously not wanted in that spot..we'll pack up and go and leave the good folks to live their lives having to go a whole 500 metres to our next store..it seems that they have an opprtunity to show some decent side to themselves...what i dislike about them is their aggressiveness and readiness to go to war with people who oppose them...god forbid they ever get a bigger chunk of the pie

one thing i know is that if you put a couple of boiled eggs in a jam jar with oil and water and put the lid on for a few weeks waht you end up with is something that is so potently smelly that to open it will make a person dry retch instantly...and if it is then put into say an old shampoo bottle a very small amount of it sprayed quietly somewhere would make that area a definite no go area for quite some time..assuming that you could ascertain where or what it was causing the stink...

I completely agree Steve, ideally Tesco's should take the hint and settle for having the one store within a 1 mile radius. I was surpised when they opened another one in Bedminster a few streets away from another. But I'm not banging on about burning it to the ground, I'm not going to insult people for shopping there, nor am I going to jump on the riot bandwagon and trash the surrounding community in protest. Let them waste their money on opening and renovating a store. If Tesco's is unwanted and not enough people shop at that particular branch, it will close.

Loving your smelly metaphor!  Two Thumbs

Smiley is that the inner hippy talking.. well, thats a good look, helps people , helps animals (although i dont agree with the uk's love for animals over humans) and is something u enjoy.. more peeps need to do this type of thing in todays society.

No, I have no inner hippy. I just believe that thinking about and doing things calmly and rationally usually achieves a lot more than frantically trying to achieve something. That applies to everything, no just my business strategy.

Ha, this reminds me of my mate Stash...
He has dreadlocks and lives in a van, blatant hippy. Last time I called him one he replied with "I'm not a hippy, I'm a cunt" and kicked a bin over to prove it Oh my! That's so funny, but EEEEEEEEEEEK!
