Buying music pc - keeping it simple

Hi all
I have £800 to spend on a music PC and would like to know if there are any meetings of DJs or producers in the Bristol area so I could discuss best PC builds, technical issues, etc. I can see from 'The Desk' forum that there is a regular meeting of Ableton Live users and will attend that but would also like to meet other software types (logic, reason, reaper, etc) if they take place. I appreciate I can ask via Hijack but discussing this face to face is much quicker.
I am open to the idea of paying someone from a recording studio to discuss this but would only do that as a last resort.
If anyone can help, much appreciated.
Regards
JB
