Can anyone think of some good cheap, and not so cheap Xmas presents for people who have an interest in making music?
Books, DVDs, gadgets, gizmos... whatever really!

I have one of these... they're awesome! In conjunction with a computer, it's pretty much everything you're gonna need!  Slayer Tomato Slayer! Slayer

Cool - picked one up yesterday for 200, not here yet though Eek

Played with one at a friends, feels like a quality bit of kit. Looked at the M-audio ones as well - feel a bit plasticy IMO (although are much cheaper). Dunno what the audio interface is like but will be fine to get me going. Plus this, my laptop, and a pair of headphones will all fit in a rucksack - should hopefully keep me sane through Christmas back at my mums!

Cheap - nothings cheap in music making. maybe some leads or a midi juntion... not very exciting though Tongue

Relatively Cheap... (eg 20 - 100)

Guitar Pedal (good for any setup, not jus guitars Smiley )
Headphones
2nd hand compressor / effects unit
gram of skunk ?

not even worth going into more expensive stuff cos its only depressing. so much to choose from  Bad Teeth

If some one got me either a copy of nanoloop (or LSDJ for that matter), OR a tr626.  I think I would unecessarily shit myself.    Embarrassed
mmm, that doesn't really make sense.  but yeah, I think the gameboy route is dope as an all in one thing and not too expensive.  The tr626... you can get the samples off the internet, but fuggit, I REALLY want to program some clunky 80s disco on the go... .
