I just finished EQing a new song and noticed that the bass in it seems to drop in volume on certain notes, even though i dont actually have any variations on the volume (on those parts anyway). as for the tech stuff, im using reason 4. if it makes any difference it was using a clean malstrom with just a simple sine wave.

you can hear the variations at 1:30-1:45 ish...

how/why does it do this? and how do i stop it?

I'll have a listen later. Have you checked it in headphones as room modes may effect what you are hearing through speakers.

Well I can't really hear any obvious level change. The amount of bass produced by notes over a scale will vary, but I'm not sure what issue you are encountering here.

im not sure, looking at the visual interpretation, it does change in volume. but maybe thats just on my speakers, is it a typical problem though?

yeah i was thinking that, tried it with the track dry and wet but it came out with the same problem.
tried it on headphones and a few different speakers now though and it seems alright, maybe time for some new speakers i reckon.
