I'm going to be moving into a tiny little room with my wife and won't have any other communal space for speakers or anything, I need some headphones so I can produce while she sleeps.

I don't have much of a budget. Ideally around 50 but I may be able to stretch to about 100 if I can save up at some point. Can anyone suggest any good value headphones for this? I know my budget is pretty small in comparison with what is available, but there have to be some good deals out there.

Whataya got?

Open back for better quality, closed back if you don't want to disturb others. AKG and Sennheiser are generally the names to look for, maybe something big enough to go over the ear rather than on it if you are going to be spending long periods listening to music.

http://www.whathifi.com/review/sennheiser-hd-202 Cheap and well recieved.

http://www.whathifi.com/review/sennheiser-px100-ii More expensive, slightly worse review!

Awesome, cheers Block Party. Yeah I think for now, closed back and over the ear ideally. Have found Seinheisers to be fairly comfy and decent in the past. I think the HD202s fit the bill of what I need right now quite well.

I can't vouch for them myself, but the review is positive. I have HD25s, but they aren't cheap and I don't think they are very comfortable, so I just use them for the occasional reference.
