sounds like they are selling sale or return vinyl that doesn't belong to them - unless all the owners have gone down there in the last few weeks and claimed it back, which i doubt

That's my issue........will the artists actually get any money from what I buy or is it going straight to the administrators........
5  General / The Forum / Re: Chemical Records - Gone into adminstration on: August 28, 2013, 12:17:46
Ok...... so I'm beginning to see some cheap vinyl of things I would buy.....

Is it:

(1) Ethical to do so?

and

(2) Should I be going into the store to buy...rather than mail......

That was IMMENSE Pimp

They stuck us upstairs to listen to some awful music, kept us waiting in a corridor, pretty much kettled us downstairs while they finished the set-up but nothing could detract from his performance!!!!!

I can't believe that show was perfromed in such a small venue, trully incredible light show and a masterclass in live bass infused IDM....

Again, again, again, but truth be told I'm not sure this sort of thing will ever be repeated in the thekla...

Right up there with 'best gig ever'..........

22  General / The Forum / Re: Anyone looking for some cheap/free bits of furniture on: March 18, 2013, 19:32:17
Hi guys.

Have a few bits of furniture up for grabs at the moment for pick up only (St Andrews)

Large Ikea record storage rack
Small Sofa
Sofa that turns into a bed
Two double beds (one with mattress one without) both are wooden slatted ones
Large wooden triple wardrobe
Three small single wardrobes
Large wooden table
three dining room chairs
four bedside draws
two little Ikea mini tables
Small cubby hole cupboard

I would like to get a bit of money, as I am really skint at the moment, but I will leave that up to people. If you want an item and can pick it up let me know, if you think it is worth giving me a bit of cash for it and you can afford it then that would be lovely, make me a price Smiley

PM or email me at idloveababycham@hotmail.com

Maybe up for the sofa bed but if you upload a photo that would be great!

You could try the bloke that does amp repairs for Drum Bank on g.road. I used him once for a busted valve amp. When I went over to his house SOTR it was literally jammed floor to ceiling with all sorts of amps and old audio equipment. A very nice and interesting guy. Could be worth a phone call. I haven't got his name or number anymore but give Drum Bank a call and they'll tell you.

Thanks, I'll give him a ring Two Thumbs

33  General / The Forum / Re: Reflectograph model 500 - anyone know about these? on: January 05, 2013, 19:13:16
Very cool  Cool

I'd say it would be very difficult to price though. Your best bet would be to try the folks who collect/restore old valve radios. It's quite a niche thing.

http://www.pasttimesradio.co.uk/resradio/restored.html

http://tuberadioland.com/

For starters. Go from there.  Two Thumbs

Yes it looks dope Pimp ....but really I don't have room for it and would like it to go to someone who will restore and/or use it.

I'll check the links, thanks Two Thumbs

So...I was helping sort out my Grans old house who sadly passed away last year....when I came across this:

A reflectograph model 500: http://www.ferrographworld.com/reflectograph2.html

I was wondering if anyone knew whether it was worth any money (as it needs to sold as part of the estate) and where a good home might be for it. I believe it was working when stored (around 10 years ago) but I have been unable to get it to work so it may need a little TLC.

Any help much appreciated Two Thumbs

window companies will be all over you like a rash.

get a few in and play them off against each other

Script we had an initial quote for over 12k (from Everest) got it down to just over 4k and on finance too

Everest absolutely take the piss on quotes

I'll know to avoid then, thanks Two Thumbs

I heard a story once of a house where they came in and removed the ground floor bay windows with no structural support and the ceiling collapsed Doh!......this makes me fear taking the cheapest option......

This exact thing happened to my friend - they removed the down stairs windows with inadequate support and wall and windows above partially collapsed.

He got it all fixed for free in the end but it was a massive ballache.

.........................this still worries me............ Eek

Thanks good advice Two Thumbs...... I heard a story once of a house where they came in and removed the ground floor bay windows with no structural support and the ceiling collapsed Doh!......this makes me fear taking the cheapest option......

You need a window company that can do the building work too.

We used Price Glass, they were cheap and did a reasonable job.

Thanks I will have a look now Smiley
40  General / The Forum / Bay window replacement on: November 28, 2012, 16:06:55
So....I have a double bay fronted property and I'm thinking of replacing the old single pane wooden glass windows for double glazing but I'm getting the feeling that this is going to cost me more than I'd expected. Particularly as the windows could (from what I've read) be load bearing and so I need to get someone to have a look who is not going to f**k it up...

Anyone got any suggestions?

On a random road biking tip...anyone had this.....?

I was riding to work today and pulled up at a junction at the front of the traffic ready to pull away when some cnut decides he's going to ride up to the bike box and then ride round me and plant his back wheel right in front of my front wheel...wtf!!! If you think you're quicker than me fine I don't care, overtake me while riding but don't be a cnut about it....

Anyway to make matters worse he pulled away on his super racer bike about the speed of John Prescott exiting a cake shop......serious get out of my way you inept fat roadbike users....rant over I'M SO ANGRY!

Should Read: The town boasts 41 independent coffee outlets and is well-known in the South West for its "alternative" image, with a resident community of failed artists, writers, therapists basing treatment on little/no scientific rigour, failed musicians, and (distributional) herbalists.

Shite.

My best ever crash was with another cyclist, head on on the Bath Bristol cycle track, did £300 damage to my bike and fucked my shoulder up, coints.

I use this to get to work every day but going out of town so largely against the bike traffic. The number of idiots doing 30mph on their roadbikes is ridiculous, it's a mixed use path so YOU DON'T HAVE RIGHT OF WAY!!!!!!! I've seen priminary aged kids nearly totalled, if you want to ride at 30 mph maybe you should use the road!!!!! rant over I'M SO ANGRY!
