This time last year was our first outing at Blue Mountain, since then as a collective we have performed at some our favourite festivals and events across the country, and we will be again in 2013. This party marks our first birthday, and to celebrate this we have invited one of the main inspirations for starting the project in the first place. Its been a long time coming, but finally we welcome back to Bristol the one and only Max Pashm! A Co-Founder of the world famous Electro Swing Club and a purveyor of Electro Swing, Gypsy Breaks and Balkan Beats comes to Cosies Wine Bar for a very special evening of music, circus and walkabout. Help us make this an event to remember and invite anyone you think might be interested. This is the first of many to come! ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ This Months Guest MAX PASHM Electro Swing Club/Elektrikos/Organikos Records Electro Swing Club Trailer - http://youtu.be/4Re6t4e0nsQKikilaki (EP) - http://snd.sc/RdLlQWWeddings, Bar-mitzvahs & Funerals - http://snd.sc/126fvqlNever mind the Balkans - http://snd.sc/OD75nXPlus Residents CIRCOSWING DJsShowreel - http://youtu.be/ZEEXK__oIXULive at Boomtown Fair 2012 - http://snd.sc/126g8jGDJ LUNCHBOXBig sack of swing mixtape Vol.2 - http://snd.sc/RdM5W0★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ FRIDAY 18TH JANUARY COSIES WINE BAR 34 Portland Square / Bristol / BS2 8RG 10PM LATE / £3 ALL NIGHT

You can't go 4 am at the Attic
You can once every now and then, we did a few months back. Ask Vikki if you can go until 4am, explain your situation and I'm sure the Attic will host it for you. It's also cheap to hire.

General / The Forum / Circoswing EP - New Electro Swing EP (clip)
|
on: October 30, 2012, 22:05:50
|
The music behind the circus has been getting a revamp over the past few months, and here's the first clip of our first EP. The as yet untitled EP will include various forms of the genre known as 'electro swing'. To us, this term (electro swing) is an umbrella term used to describe the result of mixing different forms of electronic music with swing and jazz samples. This being said, expect everything from raw hip-hop beats, fast electro breaks and everything in between smashed together with a varied selection of swing and jazz numbers. This is a remix using samples from Dumbo, enjoy! Any feedback welcome https://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F65484949More clips to follow, and we're aiming to release the full EP for download in early 2013. Until then... Catch us here on Saturday

But Shambala has a more of an early days of Glasto feel to me early days glasto you wouldn't have even been born yet young Jude! fleetwood mac Fair point Nil, however I've been going to Glastonbury every year pretty much since 1988 but friends of mine have been going from day one, and speaking to them they say Shambala's like how it used to be back in the late 70's / early 80's.

Did anyone who went to this do Boomtown as well?
I've heard that comparitively, it was shite.
Was looking at next year.
I did both, it's not shit in comparison just very different. Boomtown this year had 30,000 people, Shambala was 8,000 or so. It's a lot more relaxed then Boomtown, it's a nice break after the chaos of Boomtown. Cheers man. I get the impression it's a slower pace than boomtown - which is not to everyones taste. Since writing this had a few more even reports. Will have to see what it's all about next year! Yeah it's not so much an 'all out party' festival, I mean there are things like the Police Rave Unit, and the UFO stage blaring out bass until the early hours. But Shambala has a more of an early days of Glasto feel to me, nice healing fields and big open spaces to chill out in. And hot tubs.

Started the festival by being invited to the hot tubs by four hot hippy girls camped next to us, it just got better from there! Big love to you Shambala, 'til next year!
