701  General / The Forum / Re: KODE 9 'KINGSTOWN' (AKA THE BLUES) NEW HYPADUB 10" !!!!! on: August 18, 2005, 12:48:20

 Two Thumbs cheers diquan

I was expecting it to suddenly turn into a banger! Tis a bit chilled for my tastes but then again I find it incredibly difficult to transpose the sound of a track on headphones or home speakers to how it will sound on a fat-arsed rig!

Believe me Ed, this one delivers when played on a big rig!
702  General / The Forum / Re: HEATWAVE v RUFFNEK DISKOTEK. 10th September @ The Croft on: August 18, 2005, 11:20:57
Yeeeeeeeh this sounds Grimey.

703  General / The Forum / Re: KODE 9 'KINGSTOWN' (AKA THE BLUES) NEW HYPADUB 10" !!!!! on: August 18, 2005, 11:08:21
This tune's absolutely immense. Heard it up in London couple of weekends ago. Proper intense bass pressure combined with some very beautiful dub licks.

Put one aside with my name on Tom!

706  General / The Forum / Re: Great Article On Grime/Reggaeton/Dancehall Production on: August 16, 2005, 17:32:06
Thanks for this Tim. Very interesting read mate.

I think I may try my hand at laying down some reggaeton and/or soca beats tonight...
707  General / The Forum / Re: Aaron Spectre mix on Toxic Dancehall website - now! on: August 15, 2005, 16:10:24
I think it's the combination of that heavy ragga beat with Ras and Warrior Queen's vocal dexterity. It always feels very spontaneous and never fails to make me bogle!
708  General / The Forum / Re: SUBLOADED VS HEATWAVE! 13TH AUGUST! DUBSTEP/GRIME/JUNGLE/BASHMENT! on: August 15, 2005, 16:05:36
Respect to all for the superlative job done on Saturday! What a night!  Two Thumbs

Like Subloaded II, I thought there was an impressive variety of styles repped under the sublow/dubstep umbrella.

It's all good!

709  General / The Forum / Re: Aaron Spectre mix on Toxic Dancehall website - now! on: August 15, 2005, 15:51:08
Wicked stuff! The Bug is one of me all time fav live acts!

716  General / The Forum / Re: New night! RUFFNEK DISKOTEK. T2 Thursday 11th August on: August 02, 2005, 18:48:38

oh.. haha, depending on what versions you have heard, yeah some of the beats are a little too manic I think, but I like em still and if Grimm is a culmination of Grime/dubstep/idm, then most of my tunes so far probably fall into this category.  Bad Teeth

Is that so ...? You should contact the guys at Werk then mate. I know for a fact this whole Grim Dubs thing isn't going to end at number 4 ...  Wink

This party should be pretty special.

And I've plenty fresh grim to drop...  Two Thumbs

which volume of Grim Dubs is yours?

It's Vol 1... the Monkeysteak tracks. Atki2's is the flip called 'Ruffting King' and it's griiiiiimy

Oh yeah, right - he's one half of Monkey Steak - I remember now.  That EP is wicked.  Anyone know who all the others are by?  Volume 4 track with the coughing  samples is great.

Well, I do know ....

But I'm afraid that if I tell, the Werk lot will send the boys round my house to sort me out  Eek

and why not?

sam, if you played a mkf what name would you go under?

Gonna be in Sheffield the same night doing a Grim Dubs night with the Werk boys - sorry Saul, I know I'd be there otherwise  Wink

Depends - either as Atki2 or Monkey Steak (which is with my pal Hanuman). Up to you, cos I'd play different music accordingly: gutter grime or squonkcore respectively  Grin
731  General / The Forum / Re: Exile Album Launch Spesh!!! feat: Milanese, DJ Scotch Egg @ Timbuk2, 9th July on: June 28, 2005, 15:08:57
Sadly won't be able to make this one but we did a Monkey Steak set on Saturday in London, supporting Milanese and Exile. Both of them played storming sets! I've no doubt they'll absolutely rock Bristol on the 9th...

Hey Sam, it's Tim. Good chatting to you on Saturday mate  Two Thumbs

Nice one Tim, how's things pal? Good to see you at Toxic - no doubt we'll coincide at another of these musical happenings...
737  General / The Forum / Re: LOL @ Toxic on: June 13, 2005, 13:37:46
do enjoy Toxic ... Really liked the eclectism of this one - good mix of stuff. Again, dj c and spectre were probably the highlights but dddx3 had his moments and there was some fine grime courtesy of uberdog and bruna eariler in the evening. shame I was just a bit too out of it by the time devnull started - things got a bit hazy at that point.

Shouts out to the Toxic Kru and roll on 8th October...!
