Raw foods and whole foods are what I stick to most of the time, or at least try to incorporate daily. That way you know EXACTLY what you're eating and you end up feeling way better than eating processed cr*p that has no nutritional value what so ever!
Seriously watch the documentary posted a couple of times above its very interesting!

bloke - you'd love the vipassana then - meditation and no talking for 10 days straight... I'm tempted to do it going back home!
2  General / The Forum / Re: Healthy Living on: August 23, 2012, 14:21:02
Right now I'm doing my favourite detox, more like a fast (which I have done 4x before and also previous to seeing the above linkedhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01lxyzc )

It's called the Master Cleanse. Basically for 7-10 days (I'm going the full 10!) All you eat/drink is a mix of maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper. Apart from the first couple of days where you feel a bit flakey from getting chemicals out your system, you end up feeling AMAZING by the end... Also surprising, you don't get hungry. If you do, you drink some of the mix.. That's it!  It's awesome for when you want to reset bad habits etc, so when you do start eating again after your 10 days, you're only inclined to eat healthy Smiley You'll also lose a few pounds along the way, which is a plus Smiley

I don't eat red meat and wheat ordinarily as I have a severe allergy to wheat and can't stomach red meat without being bulimic... But giving up wheat, without stoping any other foods or cutting anything out, I lost 7kg in 3 months. That's well over a stone. I wasn't doing any exercise other than an hour walk every day and I was very fit and lean for doing so... (Living in the UK and drinking more than I did in Australia killed that a bit!)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that eating nothing but maple syrup for 10 days is NOT good for you.

There are loads of websites on it just look it up. Many naturopaths I've been to also recommend it.

note: Roni Size is just a stage name (obviously) his real name is Ryan Williams LOL! - what were you talking about adding 'Mr' in front of that would do in a business context?

I got my last name legally changed, (not due to marriage) and kept it as miss. Ms is such a 'meh' title!
... Then again I can't see me changing my last name (unless its a really hot one!) if I did one day get married.

I've been chatting to people about this one all night LOL!

My question I posed was if you believe God is light and all that Jazz, then if this 'thing' is faster... What is it? Could this particle create a universe quicker and therefore give us an extra day rest?? (Hypothetical ramblings but oh so much fun!)

21  General / The Forum / Vocal Hijacker needs to ask a favour of the musical sorts on here... on: August 06, 2011, 00:40:25
Over the next few weeks I need to record about 15 tracks... Not joking. However my condenser is hissing like crazy now, and I dont have any job to replace it or afford studio time.

I was wondering if anyone on here has a condenser I could borrow for a week or so? I'm sure I can sort you out with a bottle or some kind of exchange. I know heaps of you are at BoomTown next weekend, so it would be cool to have some mic time whilst people are away and whilst I have all this spare time!

Muchly appreciated Smiley <3
22  General / The Forum / Re: How to kill the magical 100 minutes between waking up and going to work? on: August 05, 2011, 11:56:57
*Why not introduce some music? Or even a 'let's listen to something I havent listened to for ages', then go for a walk around the block, get the blood pumping. Then once you have your coffee you'll be a happy camper!

*Do some learn a language lessons or something?

*Different morning food? Or prepare part of dinner so when you get home it's easier?

* Yoga?

I'd probably go if the topic interested me. Although I think Politics and Philosophy are very different fields... Just politics might turn into a dry current events being argued rather than deeper principles discussed... But hey, better than watching shit TV, I'm sure I'd make an appearance Smiley

For me its a bit "meh". Ive been there 3 times and lived there for a few months. Perth is probably my favourite.
It sometimes feels like you are surrounded by complete retarded knobs out there.... but then again, take a trip down broadmead eh !!??
(I hope to god none of my ozzie mates read this!! )

To be fair you get used to different standards of idiots. The idiots here I can't stand. Actually, Aussie idiots I can't stand either but you get better at ignoring the familiar  Two Thumbs
38  General / The Forum / Re: Australia on: June 06, 2011, 18:57:08
admittedly 2 of the people were in a town I grew up in called Port Lincoln -  one of the biggest fishing and tuna farming cities. One was a surfer, the other an abalone driver - chances there in that location quite high. The other was just surfing off a local city beach, but an un-patrolled one. Just 'swimming' down the beach or going for a wade is fine.

There's specific spiders in every state, it's not like you generally have 500 types around one city, there's only one or two to watch out for per area... It's not that bad lol!
39  General / The Forum / Re: Australia on: June 06, 2011, 00:05:46
I reckon if Bristol was in Oz minus the sharks and spiders that would be perfect.

I'm going as Alex is going to be working there for a year so it seemed silly not to go with him. I get S.a.d so it will be an interesting test with the weather  Two Thumbs
I

LOL Spiders arent that bad! Everyone really freaks at the idea of them... Sharks are definitely a big one. I knew 3 people personally eaten by them. Quite sad Sad I got messed up by the lack of light/vit D moving here - that wont happen in Aus at all, you stay recharged all winter!

44  General / The Forum / Re: Question for people with poor eyesight... on: May 25, 2011, 10:06:43
I didn't notice my eyes when they got damaged, it was only because I was having headaches, mild as they were, that i realised something was up and got my eyes tested. Even though I have mild long sightedness, as soon as you get the right glasses on its like 'wow.' That's so much better.

Look online/on some old receipts, you probably will find a 5 eye test at specsavers or something Smiley

There's so many good local places that are open on the weekend too, and Aldi for cheap staples are open til 11pm or something every night. If Tesco wasn't 20meters away, maybe it would be reasonable... ah meh!
