im thinking of doing something like this for a new music studio computer soon. if anyone has any recommendations on that i'd really appreciate it. A quiet computer would be good. I already have a firewire soundcard & PCIe audio acceleration card to consider.
24  General / The Forum / Re: Bristol Designer on: March 04, 2013, 18:31:10
yup, they told me not to use any of that in my portfolio.. maybe it's just Lithuanian rules. i find that strange as well, but i wouldn't want to argue with the hands that feed me Wink

Just print it out and take it along - they are never going to know.
I definitely wouldn't send a PDF because thats easy to send on!

25  General / The Forum / Re: Plenty Of Fish. on: February 26, 2013, 00:07:59
no probs mate. hope you find peace soon.
its VERY easy to act out of character in these situations and come across as a bit mental in the process -  especially when booze is added into the equation.
26  General / The Forum / Re: Plenty Of Fish. on: February 25, 2013, 13:32:06
It's hard to tell when you are over someone. Friends are quoting a year or more to me, to fully get over someone - which im starting to believe.

I was told that it takes half the time you were seeing some one to properly get over them.
Ended a 7 year one and its about right IMO.

have to say think this is bollocks too. If you've been with someone and fallen properly in love then the amount of years doesnt make any difference. You are in love so the pain is gonna be just as unbearable and long.  Also each person and relationship is different and how quickly you actually meet someone to move on with.

I would say SorD - you need to either draw a line and finish it 100% or get back together. shagging whilst still pretending your not together is a load of crap that will only end in an explosion of some kind.

27  General / The Forum / Re: mates scooter nicked from muller road on: February 24, 2013, 15:03:07
whatevs dave!

he got it back!!

minus a proper ignition and few other issues but only a £100 worth of damage apparently.
28  General / The Forum / Re: Plenty Of Fish. on: February 24, 2013, 14:22:43
wow fucking soap opera.
what happens next ?? 10 days with no new episode - breakin bad.

I'm in a midst of a 6 and half year relationship ending....well it happened a few months ago but we have a house together so it's been a long process to sort it all out. I'm now living with some randoms from gumtree and its working out pretty well thankfully.

Its probably the hardest thing I've ever been through but I'd say the comments about keeping yourself busy with the things YOU love is some of the best advice. Don't drink too much either - you will either make a bad decision or feel more depressed. Of course I knew all of this and it didn't stop me.

Dating to get over someone is probably not going to work even if it feels like an essential fix  - but if it helps you to move on then its no bad thing. Just remember that being single for a while lets you get your head back to where it should be. Pippin had it spot on. Thing is, I'm realising that this takes much longer than you think. It's hard to tell when you are over someone. Friends are quoting a year or more to me, to fully get over someone - which im starting to believe.

It's so hard when you love someone but know it's just not working out but I think it's a strong and wise decision. Having said that, only you know your situation...

How did that date go?

50  Food for your Ears / The Desk / Re: Ableton - is it any good? on: December 04, 2012, 22:43:06
i use ableton for production these days. it seems to do it all and everything is very well linked up and immediate which is ideal to get those ideas jammed out quickly.

i usually start tracks in the loop view and record a basic timline version and tweek it all from there.  its a quick

as someone said you can put ya VSTs / VSTi's in there and my UAD plugins work well too.
