just get ccleaner and scan your start up regularly and registry often. get flash block and no script to secure ur web and only use legit porn sites and you'll be fine.

OK, what does this actually mean?

What does cc cleaner actually do?

much the same as disc cleanup, clears all your caches, temp file, etc meaning your systenm runs faster cos its not storing uneccesary files

I have it and i use it every so often but i am not sure what it actually does.

What does this mean?  I assume you are drunk?  in English please.

checking for unusual stuff launching when your start your system, trojans./viruses will disguis themselves but this can be discovered at a higher level of architecture

Flash block?  Secure ur web?  WTF does this MEAN?

stops stuff running when you click on websites that are designed to launch trojan/virus components to you system

TBH 1984 is correct you only need anti virus and firewall if you are a bit dumb and click on anything, particularly with modern browser, i always load avg and zonealarm (*though i never update froma few months after the new release comes out) on coleagues pc's but thats only cos i have to maintain them (better safe than sorry). Never had a problem with a virus or anything else in around 6 years.  Two Thumbs

This is very dangerous advice - anyone who says that you don't need anti virus software on a windows system  is very misinformed.  I am an IT professional with  20 years experience.  I would not dream of running windows on the internet without protection.

I used to use F secure at work, but it was terrible!  Ditched it for NOD32 which is awesome, but again not free.
For personal use I have never had any problems with Avast, I've heard AVG is ok, but a pain when the version updates, I've never used Avira so can't comment on that one.

anti virus software is a virus itlsef. there is no point. i use XP with no firewall or antivirus. only idiots get computer viruses. it's a myth you need one.

just get ccleaner and scan your start up regularly and registry often. get flash block and no script to secure ur web and only use legit porn sites and you'll be fine.

130  General / The Forum / Re: Hijack Radio??? on: July 28, 2009, 20:16:09
Think it would be a great idea for Hijack.  As said,  the stream could be used for live shows depending on how many people are interested in doing them and when not live, can be used to play archived shows plus other hijackers tunes and mixes etc.  Maybe the best idea will be to do the live shows at set times every week or weekends, and work the non live things around it, like other internet radio stations.
131  General / The Forum / Re: Hijack Radio??? on: July 28, 2009, 15:13:58
I can set up a server for a hijack radio service.  It can do 200 users at 128kbps free of charge to you.
Please send I a PM if you want more information.

BBC Bristol Introducing did a great preview of the weekender on the radio last night, they played lots of the acts that are appearing next week.  You can get it here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p003hg20/BBC_Bristol_Introducing_27_06_2009/

You need to skip to the last hour of the show to get the info on the weekender, but the whole show is pretty good, live from Glastonbury.

Hello.
My new EP entitled "connect" comes out on netwerk records at the end of the month in CD and Vinyl formats. It's a mixture of electro/electronica and ambient.  It's been well received by reviewers and radio types so far blah de blah.    It's just been put on last FM, so to have listen - click:  http://www.last.fm/music/Polestar/Connect+EP

I've got some very limited free promos left to give away, so if you want one.  Contact me through my myspace: www.myspace.com/polestarmusic  first come first served.
