I regularly see a lorry cab which has a Scooby Doo theme to it; not quite the mystery machine, but quite well done.

think he's always down manor scrap on the feeder.

Is that the one with the abandoned haunted house round the back?
154  General / The Forum / Re: Is there anything we can do about low volumes at festivals? on: June 13, 2011, 16:49:59
I totally agree with Adam on this... when people are paying upwards of £100 a ticket, its ludicrous that one or two households can ruin the experience for thousands of people... the rights of the 1000's of partygoers should stand for something too, not just the cunce that live in the countryside

Errrr...are there rights that cover this sort of thing?

155  General / The Forum / Re: Is there anything we can do about low volumes at festivals? on: June 13, 2011, 11:13:44
The reduction of volume levels at festivals etc is one of those public healty / safety things like the smoking ban where, once implemented its going to be pretty much impossible to get rid of.  I can't see the tories, creators of the Criminal Justice Bill, allowing potentially ear damaging volume levels especially in proximity to their Midsomer constituencies  Undecided

157  Food for your Ears / The Desk / Re: Someone asked me if he can remix my song, what do I give him? on: June 10, 2011, 17:14:57
Set up a dropbox, upload stems then add remix bloke to the dropbox is probably the easiest way.  That way if they need anything extra like midi parts or samples you can just drag it to your dropbox folder and he/she will have access immediately.

imo

159  General / The Forum / Re: Anyone on here running stages at Shambala? on: June 07, 2011, 13:33:39
maybe he finds djing to be fun and would like to play records?

Yeah, it's up to the individual really. Personally, if I had bought a ticket, I wouldn't want the extra hassle of having to lug a load of extra stuff along with me to play for free. Nothing wrong with just being a punter, and there's plenty of opportunity to play for free in Bristol nearly every weekend (should you choose).

A CD and a nice jumper dont take up much room

That worked for Mistabishi anyway

160  General / The Forum / Re: GAMERS! on: June 07, 2011, 13:26:13
American Army

I downloaded this when it came out - the first level was a shooting range, so first thing i did was turn to another soldier on the shooting range and shoot them in the face (/sociopath).  The game put me in 'Military Prison' and I couldn't log in for a week, I'm probably on some US Gov't list now lol.  Uninstalled the same day I installed it  Laugh

169  General / The Forum / Re: Nostalgia Session - old mixes what you done a long time ago and forgot about on: June 02, 2011, 13:33:43
I found a tape of me playing on Glastonbury Radio Avalon from back in '99 the other day.  As far as I can recall I was completely and utterly trashed so there's some spectacularly shoddy acid techno / rave mixing on there but a few moments where it all worked out - go 18 year old me.

I'd rip it but I'm pretty sure no-one needs to hear Stay Up Forever tunes trainwrecked into dodgy breaks by a wrecked teenager who thinks he's Jeff Mills  Bad Teeth
170  General / The Forum / Re: Casamia on: June 02, 2011, 13:26:31
I went for my birthday last year and it was amazing.  Loads of clever little touches with how they present the food and amazing flavours, definitely the best restaurant around here for creative cooking.

The time we went they were doing a Tiramisu for dessert - first they delivered a written note about how their dad used to bring them takeaway from Renato's number 1 when they were kids, then when the dessert finally arrives on your table its in a foil takeaway tin and it was possibly the nicest Tiramisu it is possible to make.  Highly recommend it if you have the £s

175  General / The Forum / Re: STOKES CROFT STREETFEST May 21st - Lakota Moved to Coroners Court on: May 23, 2011, 13:25:03
No techno then  Sad

As soon as I saw the size of the crowd in that long room at the Coroners I ditched what I had planned to play and went off on one dropping early Hardfloor, Squires, Untold, Dave Clarke stuff and a few of my own bits.  It was going off in there all night, thanks to Sophia & co for having me - it was a total sweatbox and such an up for it crowd.  They should open that room more often, its a quality rave shed.  Good streetfest all round  Two Thumbs

I'm planning to sign up as my mate's challenged me to do the half marathon and the BS7 is the closest to me (so I'd have less excuses not to go!).

I looked on their site and they have an offer for members to 'refer a friend and get a month free', so if anyone here is already a member and wants a free month let me know as I'm going to sign up at the end of the month  Two Thumbs

196  General / The Forum / Re: Question about Music Publishing... on: April 08, 2011, 17:12:04
Small samples here and there, or samples that have been rearranged or processed until they're unrecognizable should be fine.  But I'd be wary of claiming publishing on anything which is mainly made from long, uncleared samples, especially for national broadcast imo.
