1  General / The Forum / EXPERIENCED ASP.NET DEVELOPER WANTED on: May 19, 2014, 13:02:32
Hello  Smiley

Not sure if this is relevant to the four people who still post here, but you never know.
The company I work for are looking for a ASP.NET developer, if you are one, drop me a PM or follow the link for more info.

Working with an established and growing development team, this is a new role and a great opportunity for a middleweight developer to expand our ASP.NET capability.

You’ll be accomplished at configuring IIS servers and have a clear view on how best to structure the delivery of complex build projects. You’ll work closely with our UX and interface specialists, to deliver web build projects for some of our key clients.

Job description
2  General / The Forum / For Sale: 2 x NME Tour tickets @ Bristol Academy TONIGHT on: February 19, 2013, 12:13:59
Selling them on behalf of a mate, as he can't make it and, tbh, is far too old to even think about going in the first place.
£15 each, so that's £30 for the pair maths fans.

They're e-tickets apparently, so pay the guy via PayPal and he'll email you the tickets.
PM me if interested.

4  General / The Exchange / Re: WANTED: BASIC 2-CHANNEL USB AUDIO INTERFACE on: December 01, 2012, 18:42:22
you can get a new Behringer one well cheaply - like 20 or 30 quid. I had one it was alright TBH

Funnily enough, I found those as soon as I posted this thread!
I probably don't need the interface now anyway, so this thread is completely pointless  Doh!

Oh well, here's Noel Edmonds holding a sheep:

You're welcome.
5  General / The Exchange / WANTED: BASIC 2-CHANNEL USB AUDIO INTERFACE on: November 30, 2012, 18:23:08
Anyone got an old, basic USB audio interface they don't want?
As long as it has a two channel input, I might be interested.
6  General / The Forum / Re: Where can I buy Traktor Timecode Vinyl? on: November 16, 2012, 16:24:32
Tried PMT and they don't have them, tried DV and that can't get 'em till Tuesday.
I'm just being impatient tbh, I guess I'll have to wait a day or two - thanks for your help thought mate Wink
7  General / The Forum / Where can I buy Traktor Timecode Vinyl? on: November 16, 2012, 15:48:52
Do any stores nearby sell Traktor timecode vinyl?
Seems that Chemical's are sold out and I can't think of anywhere else.
8  General / The Forum / Re: NEUROMANCER on: November 14, 2012, 10:35:50
OK, I'm 75% done, but can someone explain something just so I can enjoy the rest of the book.

Who, or what (without spoilers) is Riviera?

If they want to kill him so bad, or if he's such a bastard, why did they bring him up to the station? And how did they lose him?

And what the fuck is he anyway? Some kind of artist?

Just carry on reading mate.  Wink

*Weeps in frustration*

Haha, been there mate,
That book made my brain hurt at times, but it's still one of the best things I've read.

15  General / The Forum / Re: Serious question - no beef intended!! on: September 28, 2012, 14:21:19
What IS the difference between the current "Bristol" hip-hop scene and that of London?

Even less people give a fuck about it?
16  General / The Forum / Re: Ladies...no need to get into a flap about it on: July 26, 2012, 14:49:16

Would you say there's a difference to this cosmetic procedure and having botox though?

17  General / The Exchange / Akai s950 wanted on: July 26, 2012, 12:43:53
If anyone has an old s950 gathering dust, drop me a pm.
It doesn't need SCSI or any memory upgrade, it just needs to work.  Wink

18  General / The Exchange / WANTED: Korg Electribe EM-1/ ER-1 Mk1 on: February 22, 2012, 12:02:30

19  General / The Forum / Re: Graffiti artist wanted for office mural on: February 21, 2012, 17:49:22
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, some good stuff to go on.
20  General / The Forum / Graffiti artist wanted for office mural on: February 21, 2012, 10:56:42
My company has just moved to a new office and we're after a graffiti artist to do their thing on a wall or four to break the monotony of four white walls.
Obviously we'd something relatively tasteful, so if your portfolio solely consists of a shitty tag and a mural of an MC 'bringing the flava' or some shit, please do not apply and maybe have a word with yourself as well.

Anyway, if you think you can do it or if you know anyone who can, post pics and / or contact details here or drop me a PM.

23  General / The Forum / Anyone recommend an opticians in the centre? on: February 09, 2012, 10:49:20
My wonky eyes need their usual MOT and I'm after a decent opticians in the centre preferably.
I apologise for the lack of half-baked, conspiracy bullshit in this thread, feel free to link to a youtube video explaining how contact lenses killed jesus or whatever.

26  General / The Forum / Re: METALHEADZ : THIS FRIDAY!!! B45 on: January 24, 2012, 17:24:08
Metalheadz is HUUUUGE!!!.  You are selling yourself short mate, and thats not just my opinion..

Metalheadz WAS huge, but it's 2012 and their hayday was over 15 years ago.
Who under the age of 25 knows of Metalheadz, Goldie etc?

99% of DNB really is stuck in a timewarp, it's fucking madness. You menton 'Therapy Sessions' and 'Renegade Hardware', both were nights / labels that were at their peak a LONG time ago.
I wish DNB promotors would actually 'push it and take a risk' as you say, by doing something fresh, getting new, interesting artists, having varied lineups that aren't ONE genre all night and basically not chasing the coattails of a sound that died over a decade ago.

You know there's some great DNB out there, but most of you promoting DNB events seem to think it's still 1999.
27  General / The Forum / Re: Bloc 2012 on: January 18, 2012, 15:30:33

Massive shame but what with the carnival clash and now this I don't see myself ever attending again. I'm sure the organisers will be crying themselves to sleep once they find out.

28  General / The Forum / Re: Advice you would give to your 17-year-old self on: January 12, 2012, 15:50:37
Your mate is not pretending to be 'crazy' to get attention, he's having a mental breakdown - get him some medical help.  Undecided
29  General / The Forum / Re: Breakstep / Dubstep Mix on: December 06, 2011, 12:48:45
what the hell happened to this type of music anyway

Wish I knew mate.
When dubstep blew up, this style pretty much ceased to exist. If Toasty or Search & Destroy had been on that first 'Dubstep Wars' show, maybe it would have been different, who knows.

30  General / The Forum / Re: Breakstep / Dubstep Mix on: December 04, 2011, 17:43:31
Anyone got this for a repost?? Best dubstep mix I had for the whole time I was at uni and can't retrieve it off my old laptop!

Thanks for the kind words mate, here ya go...
31  General / The Forum / Re: Low cost midi controller and monitor combo. on: December 02, 2011, 10:14:01
There was a pair of KRK Rokit 6's going for £190 on gumtree a few days ago, doubt you'd get anything remotely decent for less then that tbh.
32  General / The Forum / Re: Minirig portable speakers on: November 16, 2011, 16:12:38

Minirigs is on twitter, but I'm not a big twitter fan

You sure man ?
@minirig or @minirigs doestn't return anything.

I used to hate twitter, but find it far more interesting then Facebook or this place. all about who you follow - horses for courses innit.
Thing is, if someone like Flying Lotus bought one (or you sent him one) if he tweets about it, 80,000+ people then know about your product.  Smiley
33  General / The Forum / Re: Minirig portable speakers on: November 16, 2011, 15:08:29
Very tempted to get one of these in the new year. Love the fact you can link 'em together - tophoid I'm looking at you!  Wink

One suggestion though - create a Minirig Facebook group and Twitter profile with links to your website - even if you never use them again.
It's pretty obvious that 'word of mouth' about how loud these things are is generating orders. All it takes is a few people to use a #minirig hash-tag, for example, and you could get loads of orders off the back of it.  Two Thumbs
34  General / The Forum / Re: "Family friendly" venue hire along Gloucester rd ? on: November 09, 2011, 18:46:02
hee hee, don't want to do it in gloucester then?

A rhetorical question surely?  Wink
35  General / The Forum / Re: "Family friendly" venue hire along Gloucester rd ? on: November 09, 2011, 16:16:53
Wow, loads of suggestions, nice whan guys!

Dunno bout an approx figure, but I can't imagine more then 20 of them making their way up from Gloucester. Most of my relatives are  scared of fire tbh.
36  General / The Forum / Re: "Family friendly" venue hire along Gloucester rd ? on: November 09, 2011, 12:56:23
Some good ideas already, thanks guys!
Another problem is that my birthday is in the middle of December, so most places are booked with xmas parties and that.

Keep 'em coming!
37  General / The Forum / "Family friendly" venue hire along Gloucester rd ? on: November 09, 2011, 12:42:06
My 'fam' are pestering me to have some kind of celebration for my 30th, as opposed to my original plan of simply hating people younger then me and wondering where it all went wrong.
I'm looking for a bar or pub with a low crusty/student ratio (pretty hard along Glos road tbh) preferably with a private area/room if possible.

Any ideas ?  Smiley

40  General / The Forum / Re: Lunch Beat - lunch time rave - would this work in Bristol? on: October 28, 2011, 12:30:51
Reckon it could definitely work and be great... with the right venue

Even if it's more chilled, different guest DJ for the hour, somewhere central to meet up, eat ya lunch & listen to some good tunes... I'd go.

Outdoor venues in the summer specially  Grin
