Beavis, I would expect better from you. 

The gains should be set purely on what the levels of the tune currently playing is, if it's a quiet cut then gains should be turned up (and the opposite if quiet)  so the meter tickles -0db! The only thing is, too many dj's have no idea wtf is going on, but the quality of certain mixers' level don't help. Vestax for instance, always seem to have insensitive level meters, big changes on the gain only equal tiny changes on the meters, whilst Stanton seem to be the opposite! 

but surely its best in tryin to boost one band of noise to turn down the others and raise the master rather than jack up the individual band volume? (or am i noobing around out of  my depth?)

My theory is set your eq's so it sounds right, then adjust the channel gains so that they just blinking in the red every so often which will be roughly the 0db mark.  Then put the master volume to 0db so that it blinks in the red every so often.  Then adjust the volume on the amps to get the rig to the volume you want...

Yep another good album, but unforunately im not a big fan of who bassbin get there records mastered with, they always sound like their lacking bass.

Im finding that with lodsa tunes at the mo, sound quality is crap.  And i find that most of the tunes i get from Chemical (i dont think its them) are bent, anyone else found this?

naa im happy to talk bout it.. im comforatble with what happened. its my own fault... i was completely out of the blue. which is the scariest thing... jus the night before iid had a fat smoke up (same as every night) and loved every toke. just hit me bang in the face.. i still get panic attacks now and have a strange fear of my heart beat which never used to be there. i also find it hard to sit still and  still get a bit paranoid walking down the street. all of which never happened before my psycosis..

Your story really does put a different light on things...  I generally feel right as rain when i smoke, but if it can come with no warning like that,  thats pretty scarey 

i had a rough time indeed.. woke up one morning and skinned up(as i did every morning in bed) haad a huge panic attack and felt paralised with fear. went blind and shook/rocked for what felt like about 6 hours. then woke up on my bedroom floor 36 hours later feeling like id died three times. swiftly went to the doctors and he advised to stop right away! he said my mind had hit its thresh holod and would not tolerate any more. and he was right. i really cant handle smoke anymore. serious shit.. evil plant indeed.. enjoy in extreme moderation kids.. it IS addisctive. i was def an addict and am quite glad im now done with it. although there are still after effects nearly 4 years down the line.

Mate i really feel for you,  that sounds some serious wacky shit,  would have scared me to death.  When the doctor says "your mind had hit a threshhold"  did you feel a threshhold approaching, like smoking was doing worse and worse things for you, or was it out of the blue?  If you dont want to discuss on a public forum just say and i'll gladly remove my posts.

Nah fair enuff, quantity of weed consumed tends to be a lot higher than other durgs.  But thats because of its less obvious harmeful effects.  Where as too many class A's and i imagine you spank it big time (never done any drugs apart from blaze regular).

Ive got a mate going through a rough time at the mo largely made worse by his smoking.  Its got to the point where he spent his rent money buying a car (which he has no lisence to drive)  so he now has a means to top himself whenever he feels he cant hack it anymore.  Things are geting better for him as his mum knows now and so do his brothers.  But he is only at this stage now because of other things playing on his mind that the weed amplified if you like.  Quiting 6th form when he was an A grade student, geting into doing class A's for a long while, parents spliting up in a nasty fashion, breaking his leg and not being able to leave his house for 3 months, being financially broke because of not working, girlfriend troubles, social issues etc etc. 
All a nasty loop which the durgs have not helped one bit, but a loop that would have existed anyway.

my excuse is that i'm usually too broke, even if i really did want to smoke it woudln't be a cheap proposition, i dont know how expensive decent UK weed is, but decent stuff over here is $35-40.  thats like, a week (at least) worth of spending money. 

£20 for 3.5 grams / 8th oz is a general going rate.  I reckon to get about 10 -12 joints from a henry if im smoking with only a mate or 2.

I think it would be perfect for a small bar/club who dont have a visuals man,  and need something which the manager or promoter could come check on every hour or so. 

Its not trying to take away from the VJ, just fill a gap in the market.  If promoters want a VJ for his creativity then they wont look to this product,  if they just want some fairly decent visuals with a one off outlay of money they will go for this.

Me.  People are ok after one or two reefers, but in general I find stoners the most boring people around.  Get out and do something, rather than sitting giggling in your room doing exactly the same thing you did yesterday.

I know a lot more people taht have fucked up various parts of their lives from smoking weed way too much... more so than any other drugs probably.  Sitting in your room smoking weed for 4 years ain't exactly clever IMO. Nor is it that interesting.

Depends what you mean by get out and do something.  My housemates dont blaze but spend most of their spare time watching TV or playing computer games.  Hardly constructive...  Most people would be in no way more productive/constructive with their time.  I think that their are stoners like you talk of above, and stoners who have it a bit more in perspective.

I find i can t smoke doobs if i have other shit on my mind.

If something is troubling me dooby will make things worse,  ie if im stressing about uni work and i have a dooby in the evening i may then start to get paranoid about all sorts,  but the uni work was the underlying catalyst.

I see it as all being chemicals floating around inside us,  just dont let too many bad/down/negative chemicals build up coz the dooby will run riot in your brain.

There's a few hard-working locals who are trying their best to put on the odd night here and there, but the reason you're seeing Nicky BM is because he's about as cheap as they come, and nobody around here is putting on any big nights. The Fez is a lame club imo, but it's probably the best we have to offer...

London Paddington, 25 minutes away by direct train... you know it makes sense...

What is Reading's DnB scene like?  Im moving back to High Wycombe this summer and Reading wil have the nearest DnB nights. 

I was in the Fez club on Thursday night and all the posters were fro Nicky Blackmarket etc.. 

Only reservations i have (and im not hating) is Natives sound system, sounded a bit wack with High Contrast the other night.  Otherwise this sounds really good
