Only (semi) complaint I had was Sadat X was cupping the mic all night, and that meant you could only hear him in certain parts of the main room! Guy is one of my favourites too.
Exchange is gonna be grand I reckon. Haven't had a bad night there.
I'm so glad that a few of you realised that that was the issue! I tried as hard as I could to re-eq it into something audible over the tunes without feedback. I didn't have the required balls to tell the hip-hop royalty how to hold the mic when MCing, maybe next time.. Was also a bit disappointed that the redlined rane 57 sounded a bit crunchy at times.(but is was clipping mp3s) The Basement is great! I love it down there, especially live gigs. Its got almost as much sound system down there but with small room acoutics (ie doesn't need a full room to sound at its best) The venue is progressing as we go, and as far as comparison to castros we have knocked down walls to extend the main room and done a lot of general building work to improve the feel of the place. Still more to do but work has become a bit more prioritised and difficult to when open so much. Basic lighting is being improved as soon as the rest of the trussing can go up. Air conditioning for the main room is in the pipeline and general fans are also arriving imminently! It can get a bit sweaty. But y'all should come check it out and say hi. Jeru was awesome. shucks, i've just spent my first saturday night off in ages typing an essay about work. lame.

Yeah I lied, I read the abstract. Which in itself is as long as a fairly long book.
enough to know the hat brigade is rocking out as expected! good work.... it was all the telephone engineers (directly ordered by the President)... so that they could lay some more cables once the first lot burnt down. Can someone please make us a Hijack based conspiracy video to stick into the mix, so we can create a wave of millions of fools singing to out own particular twisted version of events? (with subliminal dog facial frames?) --Punksi is bastard (masonic) relative of LH Oswald and a pirate copy of V for vendetta....? 1. Create some spurious but plausable(in the minds of morons) facts. 2. Talk over 9/11 stock footage. 3. Eat popcorn as the comments get awesome.

I knew you was clevers... but to read it in an afternoon, wow... it's took scientists more than the 3 weeks of public review to get through it. N.B. I believe that my tinfoil hat is not yet folded or required. However much I would like it to have been a dodgy job, I know what a dick asbestos is to get removed. Especially 2 squillion tons of it. Your empirical use of sense & relativity example is most good mr.N! The world would be less fun though if it was more popular, I love watching idiot conspiracy youtube videos.

seems a shame not to use xlr...

Ive got hard drives that work on both , think its about how you format em.
but APU macs can be pricks about permissions... We had a shared External HD for backup in my old office. 2 macs and 1 PC. We used to back each of them up on there quite regularly and it worked fine with all of them. That'll posibly be a network drive, different type of creature that can use any internal file system as long as it can handle FTP, so the computer need not deal with FATs etc If you can FTP over the network, that may be a winner. unless you dont have gigabit lan, then you will have all the joy of 12MBs transfer speed.

We have spent 5 years searching the country for a simple field with little to no real noise restrictions, it's the first thing we look at in a site as its so essential these days! i'm pleased to announced we have actually found one, probably the most suited site in the country to hold boomtown, no noise drop after middnight, over 20 venues running at the same time, our 50k F1 reggae, jungle stage can be turned up to full wack!!!! it's gunna be heavy EPIC WIN BLUD! no poor sound engineers are gonna get bottled for shutting down the natty....

as i've always said... it's time to readjust your body clocks you drug fueled tweeny poppers. if you get up at 9am then you can have 14 hours of 130-140dB in your ballsack until standard licensing 95dB kicks in at 11pm. it generally wrecks most of the the light show, but at least we have these LED walls and stuff to stare at in daylight. (or go into a giant bingo hall, eh?) oh yeah and stage programmers have not quite figured the potential of this though. Buuuut i do believe during the producer at overkill the ground was shaking several hundred meters away at 4am in the morning, that soundcop was a dude. final option: prey for very heavy rain, the sound will not propagate through tonnes of sky water!

|
on: June 14, 2011, 15:33:25

cdj1000's are the one and only...
pioneer mixers are boss and tough as, but being deisgned by pioneer they have very little tollerance for excited (shall we say) DJ's, as soon as all the channels go redline >+10dB they tend to start sounding crap (cos they is got digital stages to deal with, attenuating on the back will not fix it) allen and heath dont have the badass FX built in but can be run at +26dBv before serious sound degridation, they also have an internal jumper to never let the input channels go over unity (but i've never been mean enough to enable it). designed in cornwall init. ever seen the bug on a mixer? This comes from the large desk heritage and knowledge which pioneer just don't have.
my current setup is 4 x cdj1000, xone 92, xone 62, djm 909, djm 800, rane ttm56, + 1210's - i dont know if it would survive 40 passion DJ's without a badman wrangler, tazer and johnny 5 from short circuit.

The way things are going I'm starting to doubt whether it's gonna happen at all.
innit, grab your refunds now! ^^^^^^^^^^ well i'm going. i'll be engineering some shizzle thats totally gonna happen. don't think of it as panic jumping from one failing venue to another. given the chance of a venue upgrade, might it not be nice?

Rumours of vintage fashion and vegan flapjacks being on promotion when the store reopens have not gone down well with local traders. Tamsin Farquar-Jones, a clifton resident who runs a specialist retro fashion and vegan bakery on Stoke Croft says "its just not fair, after I had my degree from Falmouth in Myspace it felt the right karma to set up my business here".

probably not best to describe how often it's been lugged around around and abused by so many DJs 'only used once by my nan' might give it more value might be interested, but when was its last full service and total fader replacement? the number of jungle/dnb/dubstep artists that have wrecked on my xone 92 is not funny.... many of whom make your list... and the BUG is just hilarious. It has not been serviced for a year but is in very good condition Im considering £350 (sorry im not on hijack everyday , hens the long response) check PM!

Arma2 - only 4 quid on steam.
Bearing in mind I'm a battlefield 2 fan - is it worth investing any time on?
Is ARMA2 better than Op Flashpoint: Dragon Rising? not tried OF:DR either, but love ARMA2. It is true ubergeekfest, took me longer to do the tutorial than to complete some CoD's have friends that spend months designing missions and campaigns... most slightly more normal people i've shown it to are not interested. there are better looking smoother titles out there, but not as sim. the mega menus are an arse at first, until you ninja up the mousewheel skills. does feel like it could be stremlined, but if you are gonna command every element of the battlefield you need dem buttons. Get the British armed forces add-ons, they is wicked. for £4 it's worth a look. but check out minimum specs...

oooh what joy!
after getting out of Bristol to avoid these idiot riots and protests to discover that I was coming to the most likely place for an epic anti-capitalist riot (stokes croft x 9/11 serios... tens of thousands of string dogs and unwashed, st.andrews park style with 5000 munters in..) i've made it through to monday unkilled. (lolz Bin laden)
any great suggestions for some more tourist based cool things to do in the daytime? the more techy the better (not techno, well bored of that already)
thijack!
