I don't think the statement's true, per se. But having lived in Manchester, London and now Bristol for 4 years I feel this city could be guilty of being introspective. It is slightly parochial in its (lack of) outlook. That maybe due to geography, or the weed. Suits me though.

popped in today, burgers are the bomb, i had ostrich and was probably one of the best burgers Ive ever had, also on offer crock, zebra, springbok, impala and wild bore, you can also buy burgers and steaks to take home for your BBQ, loves it oooh interesting. I love Ostrich, super good for you too. I was in an australian restaurant once, and couldn't make my mind up what to have, the waitress was standing over me tapping her feet so I said ' oh I'll make a snap decision then and have the crocodile'

getting drunk simply doesn't work for chronic anxiety based insomnia. The alcohol has a stimulant effect once it starts to break down in your system and causes the anxiety to get 10x worse. You never have that wake at 3.34am with pounding heart, unable to get back to sleep? According to my GP anxiety is the curse of the 21st century high achieving induvidual. I asked for some counselling, he may as well have laughed in my face. Sent me off with a fist full of scripts and the suggestion I also get on some SSRIs saying 'you obviously aren't the sort of person who abuses drugs...'(that charade worked then). Seems the NHS solution is to chuck drugs at you so hey...who am I to argue with the experts. You'll build up a tolerance to diazepam extremely quickly, so it's not the best thing to rely on long term, But sometimes just having it there as a backup is all that's needed. Valium = less is more. Xanax is what you really want Insomnia is a fucking bitch to get out of, anyone who suffers has my utmost sympathy. I've tried everything, everyfuckingthing. Nothing except benzos really helps.

Pizza bella in Bemmy gets my vote, proper thiin Italian pizzas made by Italians, plus their offy opens until 1...
I am yet to sample their wares - I will have to get on it, sounds a good un. I never get that far, I get lured into West Kebab who do make the best pizzas I have eaten in Bristol. Possibly anywhere (when drunk). I don't think the Hen and Chicken pizzas are all that - too big and not that tasty. like to buy a cheap pizzas from supermarkets and bastardize them with loads of chillis, if not going for the West Kebab option.

Not sure, but I do know the one in Manchester retains an essence of sophistication and it's been open for a long while now, so hopefully the same ethos will be applied to Bristol.

I excersise at home, for free. I'm stronger fitter and in better shape than ever, and £40 a month better off. I get better quicker results than ever tootling about at the gym did for me.
I don't have to drag myself anywhere, don't have to buy new gym kit, can fit it in around my schedule and can hardly ever find an excuse not to do it.
I miss the pool but pool etiquette (or lack of it) stressed me out so meh.
so N/A to your poll.

Ephedrine is a drug given tp people with respiratory problems..it dilates the bronchial tubes Dexedrine however is Amphetamine and works directly on the ears making Northern soul sound really good AH! cheers for the info. it still makes you pretty pumped up with no come down what soever...i might have been taking summat else- ? Careful if you are taking Ephedrine..it does kind of do that to you but it's not good in high doses..probably pumps you up due to increased oxygen going to the brain..it doesn't work on the CNS like other stimulants [/quote] ephedrine doesn't mix with alcohol either, it'll make you feel it's good for working out but not for dancing..you're best off with red bull and vodka. Dexedrine is the best fun POM ever.

She's luverly, post modern woman innit.
what does that mean? It means she has reclaimed her sexuality as her own and she is in control of it. She's able to be a mother and a wife and still be a sex object. It means she makes the money and there is no man holding the puppet strings. It means she has transcended the 'slag' tag, she's clearly unavailable by way of marriage and children yet men still buy into her sexuality. She doesn't have to be anything, she doesn't have to sit in a pigeon hole, she just is, and it still sells. So this is the postmodern woman? If Jordan is the bleeding edge of feminism then Women have liberated themselves into a vapid, horrible toilet. I can't see her as a positive role-model. Sorry. Don't apologise, I can understand why people feel that way. She's not vapid though, that's the brand that you're buying into. Don't you see? Liberation was about choice, she's certainly got it in spades and flaunts it. Is that what bothers people? What is it about overtly sexual women that scares all you men so much?

Do these sort of things really happen? People swinging at you because you bumped into them in the street?
Sometimes if I'm in a really bad mood I wander around hoping that someone will do something like this to me but it's yet to happen. Generally people just aren't that unreasonable. Maybe you just attract cunts?
I nearly had a fight with one of those charity cunts on Park Street. He stood right in my way, I told him to fuck off and he took his high viz save the children etc and squared up to me and my b/friend. It was a bit surreal. We told him to get a proper job and walked off. It would have been really easy to hit him, but I am a girl and ex ain't the fighting type. Try one of them if you fancy a scrap.

he was the greatest.
The best episode of Bagpuss was when the meeces had a machine that made biscuits out of butter beans. I had to look that up to make sure it really happened because no-one I have ever mentioned it to remembers it, I suspected it might be a false memory brought about by my love of butter beans, but no. It happened.
All his work was magical. It was calming, kids don't get calmed much by TV these days. Only by temazepam, apparently.

Tea is all very nice but it's primarily responsible for the orrible colour of the nation's teeth. Turns them brown dunnit.
Hot sweet tea is magic for emergencies and shock, and especially good with marmite on toast for hangovers but coffee is the business to get up and at em early morn.

I can't see the pics I thought the dog dies, that's what Radio 4 said. But on there it says 'The dog seeks out coke users to find out what happens to them and in one advert, watches a young woman have a heart attack'
sounds a bit like Pob, but with Pablo solving the puzzles instead of Dick King Smith.

I've always been really well and fairly treated by the police, but I only really have experience of greater manchester so not sure bout down here. They've looked after me a few times and turned a blind eye to obvious drug taking when I have been in trouble. Great laugh and really supportive and professional when I got burgled . I got rescued from a potentially life threatening situation by an off duty female officer while about 20 big burly blokes walked past and ignored what was happening.
But I'm a white middle class female so I don't know other people's reality of them.
I toyed with being a copper for a while. It still appeals. They (mostly)do a good job in difficult circumstances, imagine all the stupid fuckwits they have to deal with on a daily basis, it would try the patience of a saint.
Cunts everywhere, ain't there? I'm not sure the cunt/human being ratio is any higher in the police.
