^ if so, you are a genius.

i just got this text:
"a man bought a Prince doll from Harrod's. It was 20 quid, but he partied like it was £19.99"

the only other puns i know are to do with the break up of the dirty pretty things. e.g.:
-the dirty splitty things
-bang bang, they're dead
-they're deadwood now

I quite like all the new milkshake shops. 'shakin' Stevens' shake king' etc

oh! i never got the "shake king" thing before... if i wasnt so slow i would probably find loads more puns. i think i ever saw "jason doner van" before and never pieced it together. in my defence, i was probably quite drunk

I saw a picture of the sign once but have never managed to trace it down on the internet since, butchers in London
'Halal is it meat you're looking for?'

hahahaha!! im so easily amused by puns. that's great Cheesy

8  General / The Forum / Re: FAO Emma Pippin-Drill (and all fans of puns) on: November 28, 2008, 18:09:30
One time I saw a kebab van called "Jason Doner Van".

Ooh, that might beat my previous favourtite; Abrakebabra.

haha, abrakebabra definitely wins...

I had to come up with a concept for a new range of super cheap leaflets we are doing at work. I put a picture of Victor Meldrew and wrote "I can't beleaflet"

It didn't get used.
that is actually wonderful. i think you should push for it. and whenever anybody asks for that offer you could say "i dont beLEAFLET!!!!" hahaha

if i ever own my own business i am definitely going to put a lot of puns in the marketing & name of business

i like thekla on saturdays (the times i've been). socialism is usually an indie/electro mix. and thekla is a good place to go with groups (enough inside sitting places, outside sitting places, dance floor space, people usually like the whole boat thing)

As a youngster i always thought the ad sang 'my queen, fairy liquid', not 'mild green'  Smashed

that reminds me, i used to insist that channel 4 was called channel "ford" and would scream at my mum every time she got it "wrong"

and also you know that song (from one of those indie-pop groups, i forget which) that goes "i know she knows, i'm not fond of asking"
i always thought it was "i know she knows, i'm not from the ruskin" (the ruskin is a college in oxford and it turns out lots of other oxford people hear the song this way too...)
14  General / The Forum / Re: Come again? Misheard lyrics... on: November 14, 2008, 05:36:00

17  General / The Forum / Re: Ketamine Documentary on: November 01, 2008, 02:56:22

alcohol..CNH2N+1O5
Heroin..C21H23NO5

Not a lot of difference

the amounts of the different elements that compounds contain make fuck all difference in that situation. the structures of the molecues are completely different. heroin is an opiod and it acts on opiod receptors. the functional group of the alcohol molecule is completely different and it acts on compltely different receptors

sorry if you werent actually serious
18  General / The Forum / Re: Singing Lessons? on: October 27, 2008, 01:50:46

19  General / The Forum / Re: BYTE & Bodynod - FRI 24 OCT - LEGENDS OF THE DEEP - 3 LEGENDS IN 1 NIGHT! on: October 26, 2008, 02:03:49
Oh my days...I got overly emotional last night lol  Smashed

Big big dance...bit of a late burner but past midnight the dancefloor was packed and popping off, some really good vibes in there last night. Big ups to all those who reached: Rhi, Sofi Donuts, Sal Supa!, Atki2, Hanuman, Chrissy Murderbot, Eviltrix & Roxy, Gyu, Phaeleh, Plodocus, EFA, Gemmy, Scarz, Jasmine, Foof, Bloke, Wascal, Pete Sclist, Pippin-Drill, Pins...sorry if I forgot anybody I was wronked out last night...also big ups to all the lads who travelled up from London to check the party out.

Amazing sets from everybody last night. Neil took it off with a beautiful deep set that was perfect for the Submerse boys to follow, they are future superstars for sure, every dubstep or 2step promoter in this town should consider booking them. Stunning selection, tight mixing, really incredible vibes. Horsepower destroyed the place in the midnight slot, ramping up some serious 4/4 bits that were rattling the windows and the doors with heavy bass! Noodles basically played one of the best old skool garage sets I've ever heard here or anywhere else. It caused havoc lol - people pogoing everywhere, mass sing-a-longs, ladies grinding it was big!! He took no prisoners last night, classic after classic. Such an incredible DJ. I thought people who didnt know Gurley might not feel his style but he had them pinned to the floor with an amazing set of beautiful music. That for me was one of the best sets I've ever experienced, the man is a genius. Such a nice guy as well, quite shy but so into the music. Neil ended the show with a barnstormer of a set, totally mixed up styles and it worked a treat, defo one of the best sets I've heard from him. Koast as always was on point, totally complimented all the sets, everytime he hosts on garage its just perfect  Grin

TBH with all the stress and hard work involved in putting on a night its easy to forget the reasons you do it. But last night really touched my heart and it was amazing to see such a pioneer of the scene get so much love. I helpfully made a complete tool of myself chatting to him after as I was properly starstruck lol

Massive thanks to Adam Bodynod for hooking up with us on this one - without him it wouldnt have been possible to organise this and as such I owe him a huge thank you for helping us bring this event to Bristol. One in a million  Love

Big ups to Al as well who battled with flu all night to come and help out when he'd rather have been in bed - thats dedication for you Smiley

Thanks to two of the team that make these events work each month - Liquidmetro for being the best VJ in Bristol and basically the nicest guy I've ever met, and Chris Scrumping for supplying one of the best sounding rigs in the city - the bass was incredible last night, crystal clear, warm and heavyweight!! Just the way I like it  Cheesy

A special thank you to Aych as well - one of the hardest working on the scene and your help does not go un-noticed, big ups  Slayer

Thanks to all that reached and maybe see some of you for BUG next Saturday or back again for Byte in November, you are the reason we do this, you are the people that make it worthwhile. And that means a lot to me  Kiss

oi, you forgot me Tongue

was nice to meet you again andy and as i expected, great night Smiley

how much to run one training session?

how much to run two?

yep i did think that - obviously it depends on how many staff they have, i'm assuming more than 15. you cant train more than 15 people effectvely at one time anyway, 15 people is really a maximum for 1 teacher doing interactive sessions.
23  General / The Forum / Re: Does this make sense to anyone? on: October 08, 2008, 16:58:16
i dont understand why they wouldnt train half of their staff at one time and half at another time, so that they could leave half their team in the office to man the phones.

funnily enough, yes. last saturday i was sicker than i have been in aaages and aaaaaaages. was sick all day (as a result of drinking til the early hours). my first night back in bristol. ugh it was horrrrible... could feel all the acid burning my mouth and throat. i didnt stop being sick until after 9 that evening.

Eww no health spa, the last thing I want when feeling like that is to be in a swimming costume or be rubbed by strangers. My cave would have huge sofas with duvets, a massive projection screen and wide selection of DVDs, compulsory fluffy jammies (everyone has to have mad hair, no make up and embarrassing novelty slippers), a wide selection of booze and confectionery and a huge amount of  Pimp and various analgesics and downers on tap. Lovely.

that sounds great... would have to be with people who have the same taste in TV as me. none of that big brother crap. good comedy: spaced, black books, father ted, nathan barley, mighty boosh, ab fab
black books always cheers me up when i'm feeling down cos bernard always seems to be having a rougher time than me

i have size 8 feet, so i feel your pain. i like office.co.uk for shoes - often some good deals on there, and as they deliver it means i dont have to trek round lots of shoe shops when i never find anything i like/in my size/good price

In the olden days women would be sent to the cave at the edge of their villages while they were suffering 'the curse'. Now thanks to smug sanitary adverts we're told we can enjoy work, go rollerblading, play badminton and run down beaches.

Do they not understand, we were HAPPY in our blob cave  Angry

I want a blob cave. With fur lining, pillows, chocolate, cheese, books and a midget with a hot water bottle and grapes. And lot's of vodka and codeine. I'd be very happy in my blob cave.  Smiley

Script it's all about the codeine. although there's this new suff that's like ibuprofen (you cant use ibuprofen at the same time but you can use paracetemol/cocodamol at the same time) that used to be prescription only but is now OTC. i forget its name. but anyway, cocodamol > paracetemol, anyday

anna friel is so pretty. used to loved those adverts she did about shoes

coco sumner (i really like her songs http://www.myspace.com/iblamecoco i blame coco, bohemian love, my name is a stain and a few others but i would start with those). she seems to be fairly intelligent too
and kate moss of course
she's pretty, but when she speaks it goes all wrong. "get the london look" : Doh!

apart form the pete doherty affliction, you have good taste.

I got nothing against drugs, man. I love drugs. And if you can do them without it affecting your life then good for you. But when you've got people depending on you for their own income (everyone from his manager to the rigger at the venue), or fans spending their hard-earned on tickets to your shows, then not showing up or showing up and having to be removed from the stage for being off your face is just fucking pathetic. Writing a few poems here and there doesn't excuse him from being a poor excuse for a wanker who needs to grow up and do what he's meant to do, aj job that most people would kill for, instead of fucking around all the time wasting people's time and effort in his selfish little endeavours. And I didn't say he wasn't a talented songwriter, he's just absolutely fucking shite at being a person.

this is true. i would be pretty fucking annoyed if he didnt turn up for a show i had paid for

however he has cleaned up his act a lot lately

and when he does play, its damn good

but also, this is an "eye candy" thread. i think pete doherty is eye candy. how many comments have been made on the personalities of the other "eye candy" in this thread?
44  General / The Forum / Re: Eye Candy Pictures for Today [nsfw] on: August 29, 2008, 02:23:35
hah. "pete doherty is a smack head!!!! he's an arse hole!!!!!!1111"

so fuckin what?

IMO he is sexy. i havent slated any of you for posting pictures of girls who i dont find attractive

and he is talented, there are plently of arseholes in the charts. how many of them have a time for heroes/cant stand me now/you're my waterloo/up the bracket/etc to their name?

and which actual songs have you listened to? have you read any of his poetry? have you seen any of his interviews?

i love his wit and his charm. i dont give a shit what he takes. we've all made mistakes, but we dont all get them splashed all over the newspapers.
