1  General / The Forum / Re: PLEASE suggest me a antihistamine that actually works!!!! on: June 03, 2009, 13:43:26
Which is the drowsiest anti-histamine?  I'm after something that can knock me out after a messy night out when there ain't valium around...

Get a prescription for a big pot of Piriton - couple of those will see you right.

There are a couple of stronger ones (whose names escape me), but your Doc wont give you those unless you've got pretty severe eczema.
2  General / The Forum / Re: PLEASE suggest me a antihistamine that actually works!!!! on: June 03, 2009, 13:42:40
i used to suffer pretty bad and used a homeopathic remedy of sea salt it was bought in most of those weird little shops but cant remember what it was called

Ah yes, complimentary medicine.

If it really worked it would just be called "medicine".

5  General / The Forum / Re: bradley stoke on: May 11, 2009, 18:02:51
The dial code is 0117 not 01179! Grrr

However Whitchurch is 01275 despite being in Bristol.

And Kingswood is 0117 despite being S. Glos.

6  General / The Forum / Re: Paramedic caught sniffing nitrous... on: April 30, 2009, 14:02:24
I know a medical student who books himself a bed in hospital before he goes out for a heavy night so the next morning he can wander in a stick himself on a drip for a few hours, thereby avoiding a hangover.

Urban legend
7  General / The Forum / Re: Techno in Berlin. Any club recommendations? on: April 18, 2009, 16:16:10
Club called "Maria" in the outskirts of Berlin - had an awesome night when I went there. They absolutely fucking rinsed the techno from doors opening to kicking out time. Good system too.
8  General / The Forum / Re: Banksy fuckage. on: April 07, 2009, 21:32:27
I was trying to work out why you'd hit their email system after lifting a shadowed password file and rainbow tabling it, unless you;re draining bandwidth whilst trying to get root  Pimp

Methinks you're being jingo-tastic mind ...  Bad Teeth

I think he's wanting to use rainbow tables to try and brute force a mailbox on that machine.

I doubt any of the mailbox accounts would have shell access anyway so I don't really see the point.
9  General / The Forum / Re: Banksy fuckage. on: April 06, 2009, 19:00:47
Oh god if you want to start a campaign against the intrusion of unsolicited artwork in the public space, just vandalise some fucking billboards. Once you've single handedly slain the advertising industry, then you can see about destroying lovely pieces of artwork that cheer people up on a daily basis YOU UTTER UTTER FUCKING TWATS.

And ripping off Charlie Brooker? I mean really

Clinton Cards
Arena (maybe they went a while ago?)

C&A haven't existed in the UK for yeeeeeeears

12  General / The Forum / Re: Whats your password / PIN? on: November 30, 2008, 21:29:20
Whats your bank account number and sort code?

you can give those numbers out to anyone cus the bank has to authorise any money that is withdrawn using those numbers....so no risk.

Yeah, Jeremy Clarkson thought that too

(i didn't word my post very well though....it was 3am. but my point still stands that where i work is definatly NOT worried about it)

So when the global recession bites hard, you're not worried that luxury items are the very first thing people will cut back on?

19  General / The Forum / Re: You know those things that are like big black rubber bands.... on: March 12, 2008, 20:40:32
those little white strips you see in roads right before speed cameras for example are speed sensors, and they calculate the average time it takes you to cross each one from the first to the last before deciding what speed you were going. i don't think 2 is enough to get an accurate idea.

That's so wrong it's almost funny!

Gatsos use Doppler Radar to work out your speed. The white lines are just there as an extra visual layer of proof.

The only sensors actually in the road are the ones laid into the cut marks in front of traffic lights. They're coils in the ground that work on the principle of inductance - the large metal object passing over the top alters the induction in the coil, signalling the presence of a car. Traffic enforcement cameras use two sets, one either side of the white stop line.

Only speed system that averages your speed are the SPECS systems on motorways - a series of ANPR cameras average out your speed as you move between them. Nasty.
20  General / The Forum / Re: Best Curry house Bristol/Bath on: March 10, 2008, 14:53:50
Do they deliver? And I mean that in the literal sense....

They deliver in every sense! Not sure what the number is, but they definitely do deliveries.
21  General / The Forum / Re: Best Curry house Bristol/Bath on: March 09, 2008, 23:07:31
Everyone thinks that their own curry house is the best...

... well i'm here to tell you that you're all wrong, Capital Tandoori on West Street is the best. All you haters better recognise!
22  General / The Forum / Good clubs in Berlin? on: February 12, 2008, 20:25:41
Right, me and my chums are off to the fair city of Berlin on the 21st and we'll be there for a week. I'd like to know where we should be looking for a decent night out raving.

Pretty much after some decent techno - in a cool club, friendly people etc. Also, a decent after club (i've heard the name "Panorama" mentioned...)

Google is notoriously for this kind of search; plus personal recommendations rule in these situations.

My friend asked him if he wanted to come for a drink with us and he replied ' I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't take drugs, I just make music and FUCK'

Oh wow he's like my exact opposite or something.
26  General / The Forum / Re: bristol to bath cycle path to be turned into bus lane or summink on: January 25, 2008, 13:34:32
I'll sign it the second cyclists admit they don't own the road.
Speed up and stick to the gutter! This especially applies to women and the wankers that ride those shitty fold up things with a wheel diameter of two pence coin.

That's odd, i've just agreed with something you've said

30  General / The Forum / Re: Passport photo booths - Glos Rd area on: January 04, 2008, 14:21:57
Yar, I got them to do mine. I think all the branches do it. You look like a bit of a melon standing in the middle of the shop getting your photo taken, but it is worth it.
31  General / The Forum / Re: Passport photo booths - Glos Rd area on: January 04, 2008, 14:15:19
You're best off going to Jessops and getting them to take one for you.

The rules on passport photos are really strict now, and you take a big risk of them being rejected if you do it yourself. Jessops have special cameras for taking passport photos, with all the lines on the viewfinder to make sure it's all lined up correctly and shizznit.

Plus, they reckon if they fuck it up they'll do them again for free.

35  General / The Forum / Re: Anyone else find pregnant women disgusting? on: November 18, 2007, 11:24:56
Pregnant women are fine, but good god they get annoying after a while. We've got a woman at work who seems to have been pregnant for years.

Just fuck off and have your baby already!
36  General / The Forum / Re: council loose 25 grand of our money on: November 14, 2007, 19:16:44
Not being used to leaping to the defence of BCC, I find what i'm about to type sticks slightly in my throat:

How, exactly, do you propose they avoid this in future? It was cancelled due to bad weather - not something that could be helped, and all things considered, 25k is not exactly going to break the bank. I would have expected a much higher figure.

And so a flower show isn't your cup of tea? Well, so fucking what. It's not mine either - but I have no doubt the increase in trade & commerce that it brings into Bristol as a result of being held here makes the cost worthwhile.

Total non issue, imo.
37  General / The Forum / Re: buss me your personal statement blud! on: November 09, 2007, 17:16:49
i thought you "hate fucking students".

whats wrong with fucking students?  Perv, mmmhmmm, yummy *rubs hands*

38  General / The Forum / Re: The Chip Shop Phenomenon on: November 09, 2007, 17:14:41
In all honesty, it sounds like you've listed a collection of prank names that would appear on a supply teacher's register.
39  General / The Forum / Re: Bristol? - what do you guys think are its strongest musical genres? on: November 09, 2007, 14:25:34
I couldn't disagree more Morris....liking house, techno, electro and dubstep is not a diverse taste imo! (NB I know that YOUR tastes are diverse mate but there are many people who's tastes i view are not).

Just because someone doesn't have 500gigs worth of recordings of a South African slapping his bellend against sea shells you assume they only like the musical genres generally discussed on this forum?
40  General / The Forum / Re: PAINTWORKS - Bristol Creative Quarter - Event Hire> on: November 05, 2007, 15:15:43
I think Paintworks has the potential for a really wicked night, I am yet to go and check it out, anyone been or anyone work there?

Why are you promoting it if you've never been there?

43  General / The Forum / Re: U.S woman fined 100,000 for MP3 file-sharing on: October 05, 2007, 13:17:29
I had a dream tother night that I somehow (wish i could remember that bit!) managed to gain access to all the major record labels' bank details...I syphoned (sp?) off all the funds into grass roots music organisations, charities and youth centres around the world and left all the majors bankrupt.

I went to prison but I still felt a smug sense of self-satisfaction!

Is this an attempt at self-paraody?
44  General / The Forum / Re: Buying a laptop/DJ Guard insurance on: September 19, 2007, 16:36:08

What the fuck? You've just mentioned three completely different substances, you berk.

That's like saying "... think that cheese, mushrooms, lobsters and all that other similar food is really really good to eat"

Lets cut to the chase; you just mean drugs that you personally find objectionable.

50  General / The Forum / Private graff commissions? on: August 12, 2007, 09:17:48
Anyone know of any local artists that would be up for doing a private commission?

Would be a fairly small piece - straight onto a wall.

If you reckon you could do it or know someone that could - hook me up!

Cheers Smiley
