3407  General / The Forum / Re: What is the best feeling in the world?? on: April 03, 2007, 00:30:36
Sometimes the best feeling in the world is hearing how life is swimming on for friends and family that you love very much... like hearing a family member is gaining strength and getting back to health after being poorly for a very long time... or hearing that one of your childhood friends is pregnant for the second time... or simply finding out that an old friend is having a brilliant time with whatever it is they're up to... knowing that the people you care about are having a great time of life is definitely one of the best feelings in the world  Two Thumbs

There is the Bike scrap yard round the corner from the Old England, behind that massive building thats getting demolished. There is a yard full of bikes and an old guy that will fixes them and sells them on. I know someone that got some semi decent bike for a tenner.

3414  General / The Forum / Re: *DJ Marky & Friends* feat: High Contrast/ Bungle/ Stamina - Clockwork - 30.0 on: April 02, 2007, 18:59:03
Had a brilliant time up until 3:30 when I went to the toilets...  Ok, I was going in to be a bit naughty but almost straight after closing the cubicle door I heard raised voices so I left, there was a bouncer in the toilets and another coming in as I left and lost myself on the dancefloor.

Next thing I know the two bouncers take me off the dancefloor and stand me in the stairwell where they grab my wrists and hold my forearms up to the light and inspect them, I think they were looking for track marks. What the fuck?  Do clubs have a big smack problem these days?

Then they take me downstairs and I know I've got a coupla g's MD on me so I ask to get my coat and just, he then spent about 10 mins searching me, didn't find anything for ages but he wasn't giving up and kept going till he found my weed and MD, took it and chucked me out...

I know that obviously drugs are illegal etc etc but I wasn't being blatent, and whats with the fucking arm inspection?

you should have told him to F*?K Off mate...thats what i would have done...

I'm all for the fence and heightend security. I don't want to worry if some fucker is gonna nick all my stuff and burn down my tent!

yeah but the best bit  about breaking in through the fence wasnt the massive saving in ticket price...but the look on peoples face when you told them you got in for nothing.
3419  General / The Forum / Re: Ashton court is ON on: April 01, 2007, 18:32:44
surely the festival good be saved if they would let the dancetent back in to the site or if the people who could organize the dancetent would join in. dont know which way it goods. never got the ins and outs.oh and the bridge needs to be open during the festival

you've highlighted two of the main complaints people have had about BCF in the last few years. There won't be a dance tent in the forseeable future because of trouble at past events - the Police and insurers don't want to provide cover for it any more and have demanded impossible amounts of money to do so.

The Bridge apparently can't handle the amounts of people that cross it during the festival, so I don't think it will ever be open to pedestrians over that weekend again. The bus service was a joke last year - nightmare queues and it was £2.50 each - i got a cab with 4 people and we paid a tenner to get there in no time at all.

Yeah I heard its people stumping their feet and the Bridge cant take it. Surely like u said there´s too many people on the Bridge because other wise they would be walking I guess and not stumping! Imean a Country that  knows how to que and a City with 2 Universities and they cant organize a fucking Bridge cross safely.  Smiley

the bridge is not open because the festival goers would be traipsing round Clifton... its got nothing to do with the strength of the bridge...if it did why dont they allow the buses only over it??   every Ashton Court it is closed to all traffic...innint.

i dunno man, even apart from the extremely objectionable undertones of racism, homophobia and right wing/christian propaganda, the presentation of a very narrow, antiquated mindset as a positive ideal, and the historic misrepresentation, i just thought it was a bit weak.  plot was underdeveloped, script was shameful, acting poor, pace and progression uninteresting.  and visually i didnt think it was all that.  i didnt think the nature of the CG was suited to the landscapes they were depicting a lot of the time, it came off plasticky and false in a number of key shots.  there were of course great moments, a lot of the set pieces were really incredible (although you can see most of them in the trailer!), and the fight sequences were beautiful.  but overall i thought it was basically shit, and carried some very negative messages

^^^Did you read that from rotten tomatoes?  Laughing  Tongue

the way i see it;

It's based on a comic/ graphic novel that miller wrote nearly a decade ago. looong before 9/11 and everything else.  so as a film that was based on a comic book and not supposed to be historically correct at all, i think they pulled it off well.

watch it stoned. it's more fun  Two Thumbs
