Hi, I'm new and very late to the party.

Just slightly.
2  General / The Forum / Re: I've already mourned. This is like a fkn zombie horror on: September 25, 2018, 12:31:23
Yeah, thought I'd tidy the grave up a bit, lay some flowers etc.
3  General / The Forum / Re: 10 years on - roll call! on: September 18, 2018, 14:14:08

Keep thinking I should bosh a load of MDMA and rave one whole night before June but the temptation isn't that strong.

I did this in the end.

8  General / The Forum / Re: 10 years on - roll call! on: April 09, 2018, 16:03:10
Yo.  About 2008 was when I fucked off to Aus for a couple of years, said hello to Ritesh and came home again.  Couldn't get work in Bris so moved to London and then met a local girl at the Oxford Totterdown on my first trip back to Bristol.  I clubbed for about a year riding that post-dubstep wave and now I doubt I see the inside of a club more than once a year.

So now married and home-owning with aforesaid local girl, we must be some of the rare people of my social group who've managed to actually stay in Totterdown and not have to move to St. Annes or Fishponds or somewhere and that's only as she bought with the help of her dad 8 years ago.  1st and only kid is on the way, due June 3rd. I'm having a loft conversion done right now.

Somehow I've become the person I said I never would be and also I'm quite happy about it, a story I'm sure lots of us share.

I'm even pretty fucking successful with work at the moment having just launched next generation laminate packaging in Sainsbury's and Waitrose despite spending just as much time on forums as I used too.

Keep thinking I should bosh a load of MDMA and rave one whole night before June but the temptation isn't that strong.

Let's try and keep this thread on the front page until next year.

HNY.

Try?

I suspect I'll see plenty of you at the Harbour Fest opening gig for the annual "People in their 30's come out of rave retirement to listen to an orchestra play dance music' meet.

Anyone on Elite:Dangerous?  Thinking of giving up all my free time to live in space.

Anyone got the beta for Elite Dangerous?

No Capt Muffinarse coming up on the search...

Great Elite route planning tool as the galaxy map is shit.  Also will give you audio waypoints to guide you through long multi-jump routes.

Also, if you like the idea of touchscreens for controlling your ship you can use this program to use your phone/tablet as a control panel:

I am addicted to Elite Dangerous!

First proper session last night, I think likewise.  Haven't been that immersed in a game for ages, went to bed and when trying to sleep was just flying through space.

I haven't even had my thrustmaster HOTAS delivered yet, just playing on a Xbox gamepad.  I really recommend Voice Attack with the Elite voice pack, I barely even touch the keyboard.  Being able to speak to your ship "Full power to weapons", "Deploy landing gear" etc is actually amazing.

Parts for my EDtracker arrived today, can't wait to build that and get real life headlook in game.

I'm probably gonna stay in solo until my flight stick arrives, but feel free to add:  Whagwan
33  General / The Forum / Re: Chinese in Bedmo on: January 08, 2015, 10:47:54
Word on the Totterdown street is that Asia Garden is shit, I've never tried it for this reason.
34  General / The Forum / Re: GAMERS! on: January 05, 2015, 11:35:46
Bought the game whilst back in Bris over the holiday so tonight is my first chance to have a tinker.

It's all gonna be tinkering and set-up for a couple of weeks though until my Thrustmaster HOTAS turns up. (These things are like gold dust atm, Amazon selling out as soon as they announce a new stock-in date)

I'm also building myself an EDtracker to play with it, DIY head movement view tracker for about 10-15 worth of parts... www.edtracker.org.uk

Voice Attack with the Elite voice pack so I can talk to my ship also means I am now going FULL GEEK.

Will repost when I know what my in-game name is gonna be...

Pretty damn special.  Go Bristol, not many cities would put on a massive fireworks display for a bridge's birthday!

Patco always used to have a great range, but haven't been in for yonks/since they split it into two so don't know if they still do.

I'm in London, but back in Totterdown about 60-70% of weekends.  Plan to move back next year if and when I get decent work.

I can imagine some disgruntled 60 year olds that don't approve of graffiti defacing the work and feeling very smug.

It's actually the ultra cool, "Banksy ain't real graffiti he's just a toy" crew.  I wish I was as cool as them.
