Johnny Clarke
'During the years 1975 - 1981, the period that Bob Marley and the Wailers gained their huge international audience, three singers ruled the Jamaican Dancehall - Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs and Johnny Clarke. Both Dennis and Gregory went on to attract considerable recognition outside Jamaica; of the trio, Johnny Clarke is still the least known internationally.'

Festival of Urban Music

impOrt – a festival of urban music is a celebration of the many various styles of music that were incorporated into the multi-cultural melting pot of Cardiff’s Docklands.

The two-day event taking place on the 7th and 8th October will see live entertainment in various venues across Cardiff Bay.

The Point originally a church and over 100 years old, is now a sophisticated music and functions venue, and will be hosting lead comedy acts, poetry, steel pans and dancers on Friday 7th October, from 6.30pm. Then you could make your way around the corner to the historic Coal Exchange building where artists Shola Ama, DJ Raheem (Vibe 101), Big John 2000, Sovereign Sound and V2 Crew who will be providing a night of quality music and entertainment.
On Saturday 8th October favorites such as Omar (fresh from the MOBO Awards), Dawn Penn, Carol Thompson and Anthony Johnson will be performing in the Coal Exchange, with local up-and-coming hip hop and r’n’b talent supporting the acts over the two days..

Pubs in the Bay and Butetown are supporting the event by providing a variety of live music with jazz, blues, soul, funk, calypso and reggae, ensuring there is something to cater for all tastes.

This event pays tribute to our cross-cultural musical influences and provides a weekend of quality entertainment.

A ticket is available for both venues on Fri 7th at £17.50.

Individual event tickets are £12.50 in advance for the Coal Exchange, and £10 for the Point.
To access all 3 venues for the two days you pay one price of £23.50

All tickets are available from Catapult, Spillers, The Point and The Coal Exchange.

Event is organised and managed by ProMo-Cymru and Rich Kid Promotions.
Sponsored by the Millennium Commission and Cardiff 2005,

3D Mode Newsletter - June 2005.
  1. 3D Mode Recs Website Re-Launch (Postsponed!) End Of June
  2. 3D Mode Ltd Update.
  3. 3D Mode & Beyond
  4. Telapathik Worldwide Musik Changing Frequency.
  5. Other forthcoming releases from 3D mode artists.
  6. Contact Info.

  1. 3D Mode Recs Website Re-Launch this month (Postsponed!)
We apologise to everyone for the 3D mode website not being online, this is only due to the amount of production work Devize has taken on for why the launch of the website has been delayed. Now the website has been handed over to a specialist, so keep 'em peeled.

2. 3D Mode Ltd Update...
Continuing where Cru Memba (Cat No: 3D Mode 08) left off, currently hitting stores near you, on promo is the next in the series of 3D Mode Limited Edition 02. This time we bring two more heavyweights to the 3D Mode roster. On remix duties, closer to home, we have Skitty (Metalheadz/Renegade Hardware) bringin' the underground vibes to the 'Lansee Remix'.

Hold up now! It doesn't stop there because on the flip we have Canada's finest producer Stranjah (Metalheadz/Version). He steps up with a grimey little number called 'Rudedrumz' both tracks have been receiving alot of Dj support across the board from: Loxy & Ink, Bailey, Doc Scott, Calyx, Outrage, Alleycat, Hazard, Escape.....
  a. Devize & Three A - 'Lansee (Skitty Rmx)
  aa. Stranjah - 'Rude Drumz'

  [Out on promo now]

We can now officially announce 3D Mode Limited Edition 03 in this series. with a slight change of plan to the info we gave you before, all for a good reason though...

Up next for Side-A we have, Muffler (Moving Shadow, T.O.V & Hospital) givin us 'Evil Sprit' the track that Devize3dmode has been after for a longtime....You know how we do at the 3D Mode we always have somethin' on the flip to compliment....So we've brought in another fresh artist to the 3D Mode camp Spex from Cardiff with 'Shaka Warrior'  once again its been hard choosing tracks but hopefully we've made the best choice due to the good response, you'll be hearing alot more of this artist over the next few months with his production talents so lookout..

  a. Muffler - Evil Spirit
  aa. Spex - 'Shaka Warrior'

  [Promos: August / Release: Sept]

3. 3D Mode & Beyond...
Coming up very soon is a remix of  It's The Life from Sappo (1xtra), for those who caught this one in its original format, know all about it (! So, now you are about to get it in remix form from Manchester's very own, long time Drum & Bass soldier 'DJ Sappo' of Advisory Records. Out at the moment from the man himself is "Ryde Or Die". Keep 'em peeled for a remix of this by 3D Mode's very own Devize.
Under The Counter : For those lucky enough to get the first cd  Under The Counter Pt1 mixed by Dj Hazard (True Playaz/Ganja), later this year you will be glad to know that, Under The Counter Pt2 mixed By Devize3dmode will drop later this year around xmas time. As you already know this will be jam packed full of exclusives STANDARD!

Sometime in June we hope to bring brand new & re-stocks of the 3D Mode Merchandise which will be available to the public on www.3dmode.co.uk keep checking the website just so you don't miss out....................

  4. Telapathik Worldwide Musik Changing Frequency...

We'd like to introduce, Telapathik Worldwide Musik. This is 3D Modes younger sister label and has been brought forward as a stepping stone to give a platform for new talented producers. For the launch of this label, there are two new artists. Dee3Dee and Bbass. The 'A' side from Dee3Dee, is a dancefloor roller! Phat bass, phat beats to move the crowd this has been gettin plenty of support from the one & only Grooverider! The flip this and you are taken the other end of the spectrum, as far as Drum & Bass goes. Bbass who works closely with Skitty from the midlands, brings the 'Amen' darkness Keep your ears close to the underground for more news.

  a. Dee3Dee - 'Krayzee'
  aa. BBass - 'Storm'
[Promos: June . Full Release: July/August]

  5. Other forthcoming releases from 3D Mode artists...
Devize3dmode - a: Jerk N Stutter / aa. What The World Wants (Advanced)
Devize & Three A - a: Rok N Roll Feat Mc Biggie (Chronic Album )
Cru Memba & Devize - c. Eyes On Us (Future Widescreen Ep: Horizons Music)
Devize3dmode - Thru the Trenches (Horizons Music)
