How to delete your account?

I tried to delete mine a while back... then i googled something and came up with my own posts so it turns out it didnt actually delete... I tried to log in and it said that ive only been "requested" for deletion, so i could log in again and keep posting....

Thats a shame, I was quite liking the newly deleted me

I actually googled twice today that led me to hijack.... First I searched Tokyo Sex Whale and even though Hijack started 6 or 7 years after Tokyo Sex Whale (the Bristol techno party not the FIFA presidency candidate) finished, it was the only place on the net with reference to it, big up hijack for that.

Then I googled Feeder Road Parties, and they had some great threads about some great 2007 parties (but it was actually the 96/97 ones I was looking for)

Anyway I was going to delete and now I'm not sure, the grey screen has me hooked and I'm wanting to post, somewhere between abuse and the other. My log currently reads 39 days and 20 minutes logged in, I cant help but feel that's a little bit light...

Anyway hello, shout to you if you wasted 39 days and 20 minutes on hijack too

Danny, I was there when you were going on your shouty rant shouting at the poor girl on admissions. That was not what was happening.  She never denied that the guy helped out or whether he was due a ticket, what she had issue is was of his story that he had already been in and did not have a wristband or a passout, leading her to suspect it had been given to someone else when he left site.

And we all resolved the situation in the end anyway.

I don't know what you hoped to achieve by posting this here, thanks for the good bit at the end though.

Just honesty.

Review wise: this was my 15th festival this year, it was alright, been to better and certainly been to worse, as long as its at the foot of the hill it will only ever remind me of thursday nights at the balloon fiesta and not the beautiful yet unfortunately health and safety executive vulnerable site that was the original Ashton Court site, too many times over the event did i find myself turning to a friend and pointing out how much better it would be if we could have walked outside the fence and sat at the top of the hill and looked down on it.

Pretty much all my mates were boycotting it due to whatever happened last year, though tbh some of them aren't the easiest to please but some of them actually are and they weren't really feeling it either... What puzzled me was that a few were boycotting it because they'd helped with fundraising and weren't given a clear form of communication for a ticket... due to the volunteer sector that we can all see in action on here and elsewhere I found that hard to believe and thought it must have been an admin mixup / them being too slack,, Until I got to the gate and the person in the office basically said to my friend that although this person had stood alongside them and worked something like 16 hours they basically couldn't ascertain that this person was due for a ticket... at this point the bottle of spirits in my stomach spoke for a bit and i had to step back... my friend isnt the total muso scene type just someone who'd done his bit and to be honest if i hadnt pointed out the callousness of this person in this office he might have just turned round and gone home... It was a moment of some of the coldest festival admin I'd ever seen, and really probably taking advantage of the fact my mate wouldn't say boo to a goose... yet as he'd told me in advance he'd put a serious shift in for the festival way in advance...This was the second time in a few hours somebody who had given their time to help the festival had been forgotten... the other was a muso type who had definitely done his bit and he was pretty pissed off but he'll get over it i'm sure as he gets the way of the business and that people are busy etc, or at least he did after I'd talked him down!

Some bits were really unique and nice to see in Bristol, alot of it was festival staple but the potential for more is great so props to the people that did it, I hope you all came out happy with yourselves, all in all it was a good show, loved the visuals on the WOC stage, hope you get better luck with the weather next time, I'll hopefully be going, but really remember to look after your little people (better!) because believe me what seems like a little bit of discourse for you they will all remember very well!

just wondering if people are managing to get around some of the things that have changed? its all a bit hit and guess in my experience but any bits we can swop? i'm expecting the standard response that its a ballache for everyone else but just thought it could be worth sharing some thoughts about?

not any more, youre a pleb, if ya cant laugh at a tucky inny cocky vagina thing, on the first few days of a promising new year, you're a pleb, you sir, are a pleb... (clearly because I know everything about you because you're on the same website as me)

now cheer the fuck up... its not so serious, if it was serious.. there'd be other more serious stuff to be serious about... some threads get serious, this was never going to be that, why post??

Because it's the same fucking thing over and over. If I wanted to see shit like that then I'd go on 4Chan for my kicks but I know it's posted on here to attain some kind of shocked response. Same with the racist and sexist jokes. The only problem there is with this is we've been seeing the same shit since 2006, it's fucking massively boring. It's basic level humour for simpletons, no wonder you find it funny.

its against the backdrop of most serious topics on here being treated by you as 'novel' that it winds me up... thats all... much as i'd love to have a bland non confrontational outlook on most things i think that if the place i chose to share those views then outlawed humour as well, well, to me it wouldn't make sense being there in the first place... unless i was just well desperate to be liked...

please be nice to the funny people, because the opinions of this place went to shit a long time ago but the humour is usually quite good in the right places.. it still makes that w-w-w-.-h-i-j-[return] motion worth doing

Read that thread last night and it is pure gold, solid mirth right through it, lol, well worth a read.

Ps love how every time there's something on here that's a bit of a discussion that requires a bit of a discussion those that style themselves as a bit 'articulate' (with the granted exception of munkee who is of course one of those rare breeds of people that make expletives look articulate) come on with their totally ungrounded views on things, thinking that the fact they know who fucking Francis Bacon is or why josh wink hasn't got a crack habit yet is going to be enough to see them through... yet when theres a response that has basis for discussion they can't even be bothered to log in... that's a real worthy point of view that is!! 35  General / The Forum / Re: clockwork getting flattened on: October 26, 2011, 22:55:41
Plus the quality of nights in there dropped drastically overall once James and Chris and co left.

This. This is why it became unpopular Danny, you massive speng.

Well yeh, and I guess pausing for 3 hours between replies allowed you the chance to get enough balls to sit there between replies and say such things, I dont know who you are but you don't know me either so get over yourself. by the way, 3 major championships and you and sven still only got us to the quarter finals, you're as big a dick as the other 6 mugs in the thread who cant take the constructive criticism.

The previous management were great, but they got thrown out because they weren't paying the rent on a club we all know was creaming it in, so really they made their own rod for their own back.

The club had been full plenty of times before it was clockwork, it's not hard to fill it if you have the backing of the owners, which they did before the owners realised they werent getting the return they should have expected on such an asset.

the attempt from the club to reopen was linked to earlier in this thread, read it now 3 years later, do you not agree that to be honest some things were said that if we knew now what we didn't know then we'd all prefer weren't said?

I guess the difference here is that most of you don't know the efforts that the club was going to to keep itself open, obviously for financial gain, but in turn for the local party scene as well, the graffiti session they started off with was pretty impressive with top art from alot of the local artists that have just done the See No Evil event in town, a good start from them, but not really a fair reception from hijack,

As Bubonic said, yeh, this is a cunthole, it's full of cunts, but really theres so much hypocrisy on here all the time its hard to tell the non-cunts from the cunts... well apart from me, because you all seem to know me, jokers...

I'm just sayin, that was a fat space, we (I, you, other forum users...) had a chance to back it and didn't, and now it's knocked down.  that's not arguable; its written there in red and white to read, it could have been so different and it wasnt, I realise it's a big guilt to bear but collectively there's no arguing it could have been different.

(Here's the bit somebody will try to misquote:)  I'm pretty sure if you asked the guy who owns it he would tell you of his frustration with people who were in the thread before, and generally on all they did on this forum, and really where else is he going to look for help that the 'bristol music culture' forum? So he shut it, left it, it got knocked down.

I thought most people had taken it as a given that this is what happened, I'm just reminding you that it did happen, mainly because as has been shown already it is the same people who were saying to knock it down then that are now saying how missed it will be. This may not have been a big deal to those of you now offering throwaway comments about it but having been someone that did a few successful events there while they did run it it annoyed me a bit to see so much 'love' for a wicked space that was so conveniently slandered when certain people had other agenda's

You say it was a shambles, but did you actually go to any nights there or did you just base the opinion on the fact that an ex forum member that you'd also chosen to pick on at an earlier date had assembled the best of Bristol's graf art to paint the inside (no mean feat at all...) and then you'd all just sliced it down straight away on that basis?

Obviously this is a forum and we move with the times etc but sometimes it is healthy to look back and see what could have been different, in all aspects of life. Sometimes it's best we think for ourselves and not be fooled by people whose jobs it is to make money out of situations, sometimes we make mistakes, seeing the biggest club in Bristol knocked down has to be a pretty depressing sight for us as a community, thats what we should stand for, this is not a good thing, that it's on the doorstep of Bristols liveliest underground area and is being turned into flats is not good either, this is what we need to be protecting, this is where we need to be aware for future times.

I think there's plenty of questions we should be asking about the club scene at the moment, situations we should assess to see if they'll be a danger, but unfortunately the vocal voices of a few people on here who as far as I know are still completely anonymous mean that this isn't a great place to discuss it. This a massive shame, times change etc etc and I know we should all remember the good times but also as an 'issue' this is another venue we've lost, but this one could have been turned around by this forum too... We all live and learn and with this a bit more positivity could have meant a different storyline (and probably more fat raves)

thats all i'm trying to say.

(read it again you speng)
36  General / The Forum / Re: clockwork getting flattened on: October 26, 2011, 10:44:34
Say what you want but its all there written, obviously you can deny what is the truth or blame it on other factors but actually if you were to ask them they would tell you it... a few months ago I was asked to contact the owners when lakota first got its license suspended to see if they would open it to use as a stokesfest after-venue.. as the police were worried about there being too many people on the street etc. It sounded a great idea to me, after finally getting hold of them the conversation went something along the lines of "what all those dudes (sic) off the forum, now they want our help!?, after all the trying we did!?"

Like I say deny it all you want but all it would have took to make it more positive for them at the time is a few people to have offered kind words or support, as they have now its too late, as it is the herd mentality meant this wasn't done and they were left feeling the whole world was against them... I guess that's where we are right now, we're at a polarity where either hijack is all powerful or totally meaningless, I guess what's important is that people realise it can be both.. and that bowing to the more bolshy and bullying factors on the forum isn't always what's right for everybody.

I have no doubt that if hijack had got behind clockwork and not ripped apart those first few efforts of dialogue from its owners clockwork would still be a working club now,
37  General / The Forum / Re: clockwork getting flattened on: October 26, 2011, 09:55:54
Bubonic, if that's reflection then I'm down with it, though yeh, cunthive is a great word well done. Yes, what I am saying is that despite half decent bar takes and event proceeds for a few events the views expressed on this forum for one didn't help the club and secondly totally took the wind out of the sails of those who see trying to do good by the club. There were other things like turning up at brisfest meetings to offer the club free and their offer just being ignored, one can only assume because of the hijack bull as well, but yes, hijack definitely, 100%, killed Clockwork... literally it was the only part of the business the owners couldn't understand... from the initial choice of graffiti artists to the next thing they couldn't do right, hijack crucified them at every turn for whatever reason... were you not posting around that time??

40  General / The Forum / Re: clockwork getting flattened on: October 25, 2011, 12:31:30
What a wicked venue!!

Was going to resist the temptation to reminiscence about its many guises over the years.. the Dope Dragon Wayz of the Dragon ep launch (amazing.) or DJ Sasha (at an extortionate rate of 15 on the door!?) are 2 I would definitely mention from the early days when it was Powerhouse, some older forum goers would probably even reminiscence about when it was the aquatic centre before that.. generally Clockwork was a time of great raviness in Bristol...

I feel its important we reflect on the treatment given to the owners by this forum though, they wanted to make a go of it as a club and conversations that took place on this forum shunned them out for whatever the agenda was at the time. Clockwork was basically flattened because hijack made sure the owners felt there was no place for it, yet here we are all missing it as soon as its gone. Prime example of the damage forums can do in my opinion. Anyway rest in peace powerhouse/inferno/clockwork, you were great and loved by many, though when it came to it got alot of shit for little reason on hijack, sad to see you go LIGHTAH!

Graffiti wars was on Channel 4 back in August, it seems to have been removed from 4OD and youtube (causing controversy amongst the hardcore) but theres a version here: http://www.streetartnews.net/2011/08/robbo-vs-banksy-graffiti-wars-full.html

44  General / The Forum / Re: Another Banksy down... on: October 05, 2011, 19:24:15
Since you asked so nicely:

This style classic amongst many, many others was done in the mid 1980s. You know, before conspiracy theories even existed.

For more hard evidence that you need to put the acoustic guitar down, go here: http://www.rockingthecity.com/tubes1988.htm

Thanks, I understand the guys a style classic but it also seems mighty convenient that the ultimate anti-establishment hero is now being usurped by somebody said to be even more anti establishment and who by default has the backing of the 'real' bluds because he's an original 'one of us' kind of icon... I am highly suspicious by nature and that's nothing to be ashamed of, I originally was backing Team Robbo too but on second thoughts it's all too easy to make a Channel Four documentary with a guy with his face covered and some shit graffiti basically making Banksy out to be a cunt. The manner in which Team Robbo has risen since that documentary 2 months ago has been almost military like, from the early posting of Team Robbo on the unused boards at See no Evil to the other sympathetic bits of press coverage about a guy in a coma that really nobody knows and has no evidence that he is in such a way.

Obviously the most palpable suggestion is that everything is exactly as it's portrayed but to swallow a story like this whole with no suspicion at all would be an incredibly naive thing to do I believe. The reason I post it on here is because it's not exactly going to be printed in the newspapers so forum's are the places to at least attempt to unravel some mysteries; I am still all ears as to the origins of all this... blaps.

So keep on living your dream sir, I'll keep living mine  Two Thumbs

while i appreciate the comment about Robbo's authenticity is a bit outlandish I dont see how your discounting of it makes you the big man? I'm just trying to offer another view, i would have been all ears had anybody tried to explain why Robbo was genuine, however just retorting with naff internet gif's isn't really something that means youre worthy of 'props'...

while I'm not gonna say you're anything like 'crazy' or 'loopy' I wouldn't say your ability to use google image search makes you anything spesh  Undecided

how do we even know Team Robbo is real..? Could be a great way to wipe out the anti establishment nature of Mr Banks if you or even your government wanted to do such a thing?

Another thing, probably totally unrelated, is that the falling down piece next to the motorway by Eastville roundabout, there was a fire there on Friday night, police and fire engines were called and the road was blocked while they put it out

Just a thought....

You sir, are completely and utterly batshit insane. Time to put the weed and K down.

Ok touche... but really, how do we know?? We don't. So keep on living your dream sir, I'll keep living mine  Two Thumbs

Quite frankly ridiculous, that's really going to make sure there's enough to protect their unwanted shop next time it kicks off isn't it  Doh!
