It was on something Adam Ewan Hoozarmi posted. Someone that used to frequent these parts with no fond memories, but didn't recognise them.

It was El Noodle.

Doesn't he have a child now?

The best way to deal with terrorism is to ignore it, otherwise they win.

10  General / The Forum / Re: GAMERS! on: December 03, 2015, 16:31:40

Currently playing Assassin's Creed 4, which is much like 3 and not really that good either. Sailing around is not very interesting.
Once your ship is maxxed out its boring.
I enjoyed getting that far

AC3 was pretty bad and the whole series has been a backward step after AC2. I'm not completely fed up with AC4 yet, but I did vow to turn my back on the series after 3, but it was cheap and I was in need of something better than Dying Light.

Transformers looks like it will be a bit boring to play, but I'll stick with it once I get off AC4.
11  General / The Forum / Re: GAMERS! on: December 01, 2015, 13:49:31
Recently played Dying Light - Dying shite. Not horrendous, just very little of interest or to recommend.

Currently playing Assassin's Creed 4, which is much like 3 and not really that good either. Sailing around is not very interesting.

I also have the new Transformers Devastation game, which is styled on the G1 era and is a button masher, but looks great.

Pop to the Bristol Wood Project on Cattle Market Road, to either (a) get wood or (b) get them to build it.

I see way too many people re-post his loony bullsh!t on Facebook. Rationalwiki covers him in brief detail

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/David_Wolfe

He is just a snake oil peddler and Nutribullet salesman with some ludicrous ideas backed up with nothing. He may also be a plagiarist according to some, but the raw food movement seems to be full of quite aggressive people, which is odd for such a hippy lifestyle, so that claim may not be accurate.

Batman Arkham City is great. Looks good and has a good plot line. The Batmobile is a bit too close to Wipeout in handling, but it has a nice varied use. Some of the sub-missions are repetitive, but I really enjoyed the game and it does look amazing.

I have borrowed Witcher 3 from a friend, which feels such a step back from Batman. I played about an hour of it, but I have no enthusiasm to pick it up again it is so clunky and slow.

Hello.

Gloucester Road area, including Montpelier and St Werburghs is popular with people coming to the city as they are well priced areas and close to the 'vibrant life'. But there are other places which are just as good, Knowle is quiet and not far from the centre. Southville is now pricy, but Bedminster is next to it and not. Easton/Redfield/Lawrence Hill are all fine and well priced.

St Pauls is central and has an undeserved bad reputation.

Clifton, Redland and Cotham are generally expensive; nice areas though.

Hengrove is cheap but miles away.

There are plenty of private landlords and companies. Expect it to cost about £2/300 for an estate agent to set you up.

I would recommend the BBC versions of Tinker, Tailor...

yeah I grew up on that. my dad was a big fan of it.

CONTROL IS ALIVE AND WELL.

The pacing is incredibly slow, but not in a bad way. It is deliberate and the plot slowly unfurls.

I've not seen the programme at all. Closest I have come to seeing it is the South Park spoof.

Yeah, it's good. Much better than Breaking Bad. The wire's a different league though.

I've never seen any Breaking Bad either. I saw a few minutes of the Wire once but I don't think it is for me.

What do you watch?

No TV recently.

I have, however, watched every episode of Regular Show, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers and Archer. Regular Show is just good fun and nonsense. Adventure Time is strangely deep at times and silly in equal measure. Bob's Burgers isn't anything special, but is entertaining nonsense and has Jon Benjamin doing Bob, who is also Archer (and Coach McGuirk in Home Movies/Ben in Dr Katz) and he is great in both. Archer is very well written, filthy in tone and stylish in look.

I did also watch the Mike Tyson Mysteries, which is just stupid.

I don't tend to watch TV in general but I would recommend the BBC versions of Tinker, Tailor... Smiley's People and the original House of Cards (I never saw the follow up series).

Marco has the Roland stuff in stock now, so go pay him a visit. Snoo has a point that you may be better off with a controller and some free synths (TAL Audio had some good free ones, but they may have gone to being paid for now), but Marco has controllers to so go have a word and support your local music shop Smiley

The Roland Aira System 1 seems to be popular and has the plug-out ability (at some small cost).

Go see Marco in Elevator Sound (rear of Idle Hands) to see what he has. He stocks Novation and Arturia and I think one of the synths has £100 off at present. He also has the Volca range and they are great little synths and cheap.

Good news about them catching that lot though.
