Is it one of those places inserted onto a map to snare those who copy maps and sell them as their own?

Rings a bell. If the door staff know what it is, then I guess it should be fine. If that fails, take your mother with you.

More to the point, what is a citizen card?
6  General / The Forum / Re: Christmas parties on: November 26, 2014, 12:45:42
this is the email my Wife received for her Work party, I should add that they have 1 hour for this:

"1 – Each person brings in a contribution to a shared meal. It would probably cost about £5 per person. There are microwaves in the kitchen, but this would basically be a cold buffet. Someone would need to co-ordinate who brings what.
2 – Order pizzas. Not sure where the nearest supplier is. Maybe we could ask for turkey and stuffing pizzas, alongside some vegetarian ones.
3 – We could book a table at the Wessex Flyer, a pub nearby. Recent reviews are not encouraging http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186220-d5431216-Reviews-Brewers_Fayre_Wessex_Flyer_Bristol-Bristol_England.html
4 – We could book a table at Frankie & Benny’s. Menu attached. Two courses for £16.95, three courses for £19.95. Vegetarian main course is risotto, because rice (even Arborio rice) is cheap. Recent reviews are mixed http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186220-d731143-Reviews-Frankie_Benny_s_New_York_Italian_Restaurant_Bar_Bristol-Bristol_England.html
5 – We could book at table at Parkview’s canteen (it thinks it’s a restaurant, but it’s delusional).
Menu attached. You can have a main course for a fiver, two courses for £6.99 or three courses for £7.99. Other people from PSC will be there.
6 – Your suggestion."

My suggestion is that maybe they just don't bother

Everyone should bring Snickers salad and a bottle of gin each.

For riding to work I use my Stan Smiths. They're from 1999 and the older version, but I swear by Stan's for general street wear. I've not had any luck recently getting a new velcro pair as the current run are lace up only. I've owned about 6 pairs in the last 15 years and I get good mileage out of them all, walking and cycling.

They're not skate shoes, but I think they'll last a fair while.

It is the inclusion of the term 'mate' I don't understand, as though it was supposedly copulation for reproductive reasons, not just straight up f-cking for the jollies.

I've got another one due in Feb,
I was sold that they start look after each other.

eventually

My two nephews are getting there, but still too young to really cut the workload I think.

It is a load of old bollocks. Most people seem to think the Magna Carta has some significance in the matter, but that document is barely legal tender anymore.

http://ukhumanrightsblog.com/2012/09/30/freemen-of-the-land-are-parasites-peddling-pseudolegal-nonsense-canadian-judge-fights-back/

That's the thing though. It isn't. I agree it's utterly impossible to enforce any of this or exempt yourself from the laws and taxes but it is true statutory law is a law of contracts. And contract law is only enforceable against legal entities not against the person.

Got anything to back up your statements?

I don't think the term 'contracts' is applicable to statutory law, but I'm no lawyer. As a subject of the land you don't enter into a contract as one would in a business agreement, which is where parties enter into a contracts. As a resident of any country you are subject to the laws as laid down. In an agreement, subject to contract, you are the legal entity if you are a sole person agreeing to the terms of the contract.

47  General / The Forum / Re: Scottish Referendum? on: September 26, 2014, 09:16:29
According to that, Scotland spends £1623 more per person on public spending than England. Spends £219 more than the average spend across the other 12 parts of the UK on health. Spends £21 more than the average spend acorss the other 12 parts of the UK on education.

I can't be bothered to do any more sums. But according to the graphs, they pay less tax and spend more it seems.

I don't know what the point of that Guardian article is though.

Sounds like one of my colleagues whose response to an argument this morning was to call me a neanderthal. He was saying that the police used to be aggressive and not accountable to anyone, which I then said so were Unions (which he is a prominent member of), but he had no answer to that other than to abuse me.
