As I think someone hinted earlier, one of the advantages in the current economic situation is that the quality of vinyl releases is higher than ever - not just the music itself, but the sound quality and loadness, etc. I've been buying vinyl for 25 years and, bar a few notable exceptions, most modern 12" singles piss over those pressed in previous decades. I can remember when it was normal to press a 10 track album onto a single vinyl disc!! Nowadays they spread them over double, or triple vinyl, standard. The people who master vinyl discs have raised the standards to compete with digital formats. So even though vinyl is now relegated to a specialist niche format, the vinyl lovers win cos we know we're getting the best possible sound reproduction. The days of lazy release schedules and sloppy mastering are well and truly over. We use digital formats for the convenience they bring, but if you're serious about sound reproduction..you know what you gotta do... The other point is that, even though it might cost you more to buy a vinyl product, it can be an investment. It'll probably hold it's value, and you might even make money if you sell it on a few years later. CDs never really hold their value (apart from a few very rare, limited items), and of course a downloaded MP3 file is worthless from the moment it enters your harddrive (unless there's anyone out there who's actually managed to sell second hand MP3's??!!) The only massive argument in favour of digital downloads is the environmental aspect - an MP3 doesn't use up precious resources in its manufacture...although I coudn't say for sure if an MP3 is 'carbon neutral'

take a large old t-shirt and cut the neck out, make it a one-shouler type top with a really lose neck, cut the arms so they're short arms, and then cut the bottom so it bares somme midriff. a short skirt in a bright color with leggings/tights/leg warmers should work for the leg portion, and even something as simple as a sports-bra under your altered t-shirt would fit the bill. ballet slippers are popular now and you could wear a pair of those if you have them lying around. don't forget the scrunchie in your hair i don't remember any midriff-baring in the '80s! t-shirts for girls were super baggy and went well past yer arse. possibly with a belt. waistlines weren't really an issue. rememebr: baggy from the waist up, but show plenty of thigh. if you have thick eyebrows it would help. women were much hairier back then. bangles and big earings were almost as fashionable as they are now. court shoes were huge. 4" heel would be about right. any colour is fine. the brighter the better. remember girls never wore trainers or sports gear in the 80s, unless they were doing aerobics. so no trainers. i'm sure you know that flares and platform shoes were totally out of fashion (each decade seems to rebel against the last) girls with straight hair were social misfits. make sure its fluffed up/wavy/curly whatever. go crazy with the make-up. erm..that's all i can think of right now. nice memories...hrrrrmmmm

One thing tho- Personally I think both Fri and Sat night showed once and for all which of the Bristol systems is needed for Noir and Subloaded and IMHO which one is best. With all due respect to all involved (as I can imagine how much work it takes) the quality, depth and also volume of one rig is infinately better than another. Just my personal view of course.
This man speaks truth.
