looks like a good night.... spree playin brazilian funk? ? Different Spree... this one plays hip hop & dancehall, the other one's a DnB DJ right?? And it's Juliano playing the Brazilian funk (or baile funk for the more educated) And don't watch that Sarah B, we're just protective of our fledgling little night Yeah different spree- bit sh*t still. Bruv... It's a name clash, happens alot. You don't even play the same music as the guy. Allow the negativity, it's not like he heard of you, thought 'cool name' and jacked it is it? Calm down Fire-Man Sam!! I'm sure he ain't that bothered... what? that wasnt me talking...

hyphy seems oright to me...Not as good as crunk, but a lot better than that new genre westwood is playing 'snap' ( think laffy taffy) this shit sounds like it was made on fruity loops by a 50 year old whos never listened to hip hop and lieks benny hill.
Westwood is a twat, but end of the day he has a point to him, im sure if he wasnt white and a vicars son he wouldnt get as much hate, but he is fuckin hillarious. He just plays whatever is big in America or the industry in general to get people hyped up. Only reason to listen to him nowadays is to laugh.

Cooshti do quite a lot of 'special' Adidas stuff...
Might be worth a try?
Probably be easier on t'internet though...
Cooshti do have adicolor stuff in stock (t-shirts, jackets etc), although not sure about the trainers. I have seen the trainers (below) in Bristol somewhere - It was either in Cooshti or the new trainer shop on Perry Road/Park Row (where the head shop used to be, opposite Zero Degrees). Cooshti has sold out of all the adicolour stuff apparently, i was about to try and blag a discount on some of the shoes myself lol

killa kella however, is a completely talentless bellend i call complete bullshit on this statement! he has been on the scene as long as i rememeber and he has worked hard and completely pioneered the beatbox element of uk hip hop..he is full of character and you must just be jealous.. so get your own skill and then talk! i know nothing of him personally talking, do you?? i don't know his personality.. or much about him other than the shows i've seen.. what is your beef with him? if you don't like beatboxing then it makes sens you don't like him, but why even comment on him in that case? fair point, you're probably right, i stuck my oar in when it wasn't necessary, this isn't a genre in which i should be passing judgement. but to be honest one of the prerequisites for someone to beatbox is to keep time, surely. and every time i see him, he can't do that and his beats distort all ove the shop. as far as personal beef, it lies with an ex who used to perform in similar circles around london, never mind... Fuck that, don't back down! For me the main problem with Killa Kela is that he has no sense of humour. If you're gonna make noises into a mic for a living then you can't take yourself that seriously. Edit: Sorry for trying to cause more beef, when I'm tired I can't restrain my rage against over-rated UK hip-hop acts and I love arguing about it. What I meant to say was "everyone's entitled to their own opinion, there's room for all styles, can't we all just get along..." The amount of beatboxers ive seen over the years is possibly beyond the amount any human should possibly see, anyways hes good and lots of people who do it rate him as welll.

killa kella however, is a completely talentless bellend who got a bit too close to a mic and thought he heard drumming amongst the sound of his mouthflob distorting. mind you, i never got beatboxing anyway. Save clever edits like Bjorks use of rahzel, it feels like a party trick.
mmm ok 'talentless' ? Hes not only a properlly safe person, hes actually fuckin good at what he does, which yeah some see as a novelty, it is still a talent. He can sing and do a beat at the same time lol how is there no talent? Also check www.faithsfx.co.uk

|
on: May 15, 2006, 10:23:29

A few of my friends went last night for their first DnB/Valve Soundsystem experience. I was bein bombarded with texts whilst DJ'in at PoNaNa until they turnt from being "mate its so loud" or "mate you should be here" to "Vowles hurt, his jaw is broken and he's bleedin bad, will explain more tomorrow"
My friend who wouldnt hurt a fly, even if it bit him, had been punched in the face whilst dancing by some utter twat and this guy bust his jaw in 2 places and cracked his lip open knocking teeth out as he went. I was shocked at how something like this could happen, but his shit night wasnt quite over.
Running to the bouncers on the door, covered in blood, he asked for help saying that he'd been attacked and needed to be escorted to the BRI. The bouncers proceeded to throw him out, locking the doors behind him, not calling an ambulance. My friend was passed out, outside until our friends ran outside and took him to the BRI..
I'm sickened by the way the academy handled this and my friends parents are going to press charges against the kid who did it. If anyone saw anything, send me a PM
I'm going to have to agree with mr badger, i was outside and saw everything (apart from before he was taken out of the door near the stage by a bouncer) He was being led out of academy by a bouncer, and the bouncer kept saying "i'm trying to help you stop spitting on me" and your mate was shouting a lot that he needed help, although he wasn't listening to the bouncer at all. He then refused any help and was being abusive so the bouncer left him outside lying on the floor shouting (not covered in blood either, just a bloody lip and a bit on his hands!) as he seemed with it anyway and not too hurt tbh. The bouncer lso advised the guys on the door that he was there and had been hit before he went back in. Your mate got more and more angry saying that he had lost a tooth for no reason etc etc. He was abusive to the bouncers who came out to help him and didn't listen to anyone wwho tried to reason with him so he really didn't help himself at all. Then when he tried to walk straight back in to academy at one point he was obviously stopped by the bouncers as he would have gone back in and started a fight with the guy who hit him (at this point he was shouting that he was going to get the fucker that did it to him etc) plus they never let anyone back in once they've left tbh. and you've got to be an idiot to smash the door there, you will never get anywhere doing that and by rights they could argue that your mate owes them for damages/vandalism! I have a feeling your mate elaborated on this story as it seems a long way from what I saw. "he would never hurt a fly..." MMMMMmmm

ok i hear ya.. yeah who's gonna feel aggro at an acidtrance rave.. and yeah some people in the dnb raves have unsavoury habits which can be horrible to be on the receiving end of.. but i believe that this has been bred in the social fabric of the 20th century.. oppression of the lower classes etc.. you ever actually just turned round to that shady geezer with the red cap and tried to start a conversation? admittedly you may get a negative response, but equally i think you may just be surprised.. while i can see a togetherness at techno raves i dont in my opinion think its a genuine all encompassing kind of togetherness.. i can think of a number of times some lads have turned up at these kind of things, maybe a little stoned, but instead of wearing tie dye theyre wearing fubu wear.. so they get there.. everybody who's into the techno is sooooo into peace love and togetherness.. these guys pop their head in the door and the whole room blatantly shocks out and ignores them, cos theyre bigoted (yeah thats right bigoted hippies.. shock horror) so these guys then feel awkward, which makes them uncomfy, which makes em behave a little more awkward, and still the techno hippies are concentratin on ignorin these boys (lets say age 18-20).. these boys are meaning no harm but still havent had any kind of recognition, so basically theyre victims of racism.. (im thinkin based on what they wear more than any skin colour) but of course theyre not forms of racism cos nobody has to speak to them.. so everything gets more awkward etc.. theyre just buzzin on a few pills lookin for some rizla.. but its awkward cos blatantly these people have already decided whats goin down.. now if you rewind that, the boys pop their head round the door and you say 'alright!!' things are all a little different.. its only an example but i think this is a much overlooked thing.. and a situation ive seen too often.. and i spose at the end of this it could be said.. devils advocate.. that if you then turn up to a jungle rave dressed in tie die (for example ) then there may be some natural human instinct for revenge.. or just a pang of pain at how that guys been treated those times in the techno raves.. and it goes full circle.. the circuit must be broken at some point.. and if you are the man to do that and get some dialogue then i think the little efforts make such a difference and are actually no effort at all.. ha ha ive seen this experience many many times and even experienced it before, id left my tie dye hoody at home! But your right, this situation probablly happens more at house parties around bristol than it does at raves, when you treat somone like a theif/aggro cunt the chances are people end up getting pissed off...

And this talk of 'chavs' and 'rudeboys' as if they are not people is a bit ridiculous as well...They said snobbery and the difference in social classes dissapeared in the 90's id say it is worse now than in the 80's. Plus calling all working class people 'chavs' or 'rudeboys' is fairly insulting as well.
Wrong. I'm working class, always have been and never pertain myself to be anything different. Being a chav is nothing to do with your social class, its all about attitude. To also say that calling them a chav or rudeboy is insulting is also rubbish, they embrace the fact that they are seen that way by joe public. What? you agreed with what i said, yet said i was wrong. OK! Rudeboy at least traditionally was not a term used as a mark of respect, ovviously since being a 'badman' is in fashion people love to play up to it. And your telling me 'chav' isnt an insult? If chav isnt an insult its only since papers like the sun have taken it and twisted the meaning, i remember people hitting people when being called chavs or similar slang words used as insults. BUT whatever.......

ha ha theyre so poor and uneducated but im so sophisticated with my bait trucker cap and skinny pink tshirt. Rant over
, considering dnb is (was originally, as all new music generas are, as they are created, like most music by middle classed people, ha ha Hip Hop, House, UK Garage, Grime, Rock N Roll, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Dancehall, Dubstep, Jungle etc etc Are all notoriously middle class originated genres of music eh? lol If anything its the other way round, MOST forms of music seem to come from working class communities and then the middle class people get invovled as the movements progress and the sound starts to change.. There is northing bad about this, its a natural thing and adds a different perspective... And this talk of 'chavs' and 'rudeboys' as if they are not people is a bit ridiculous as well...They said snobbery and the difference in social classes dissapeared in the 90's id say it is worse now than in the 80's. Another sad story but an all too familiar outcome from these mass brawl dnb raves! This is one reason for why i refuse to attend these types of venues on such nights. I love dnb but it's all about the smaller, intimate venues...... These type of nights are way too overpopulated with animalistic morons with excessive attitude & aggression....complete cnuts Anyway hope your mate gets better soon! Another sad, sweeping generalisation about dnb raves, I've been raving for years and never got into any trouble. Reckon you get much more chance of a nasty scuff at cheese nights, its just that most of the people on this board are into middle-class music like house breakbeat breakcore dubstep etc. which are bound to attract on average less aggressive people who frown at "chavs", ha ha theyre so poor and uneducated but im so sophisticated with my bait trucker cap and skinny pink tshirt. Rant over i think the dubstep originators would laugh at being called middle class. However u do have a point about people looking down on other people. Mind u im sure back at the old jungle raves it would have been a lot more rowdy than it is now, even with the feared 'chavs' around lol. However this is well harsh, and obviously ruined the night, but i know one of the bouncers who does academy and spoke to him before he went to do the security and i VERY mucch doubt he would of done the whole closing the door thing!

named after a pub errr right, i guess my history teacher was lyring then.. Plus surely decendants of slave traders who have profitted from it should surely apologise, im sure theres very rich families/lords/landowners and COMPANIES that have benefitted very much from the slave trade... certain companies in America are being forced to pay reparations because of the way they proffitted and became rich off the back of slavery. I think an apology from the queen would be better since her family and their associated toff cunts have dirrectly benefitted from it with all the riches they have from britain being prosperous in that era. Plus america and germany have apologised for what they have done in ww2 many times.

well...
The scandanavians are hardly gonner apologies since most people in britain have anglo-saxon blood in them, so therefore a lot of people would be apologising to themselves lol and it happened so long ago to the point it doesnt even matter, theres a certain number of years before certain things in history become irrelevent that hasnt happened with the slave trade yet.
I think the point about the slave trade is it didnt happen that long ago...And some of the effects of it are still felt in the form of racism even down to the names of places in bristol 'black boy hill' anyone?
im not saying an apology would do anything...
I can see why people are asking for one....

im glad shadow is thinking out the box a little and not doing the same old same old. Im sure there will be a load of people who know respect this type of stuff a lot more because shadow is involved with it. Crunk can be cool, lil jon isnt exactly an emcee now is he?!? hes a producer who randomlly shouts on tracks some of his production can be the shit, and has anyone heard that tune he done that samples slayer, i swear the bass on that is so stupid it blew my speakers. But he has some good guest mcs on his albums like Ice Cube and Nas and a few others. Theres a lot of good southern hip hop, theres people doing traditional style hip hop like scarface and luda... Then you got the crunk movement and i like the houston movement as well with all that chopped and screwed stuff... DJ Shadow though...

The ONLY plus i can see is that phil fuckin ruin every tournament for england neville is not anywhere near the squad.
Defoe should be there in place of walcott, and Bent/Fowler or Even Sheringham should be in the mix instead of Jemain Jenas. (Who says the surprise player has to be young, sheringham would do a better job than fuckin crouch, infact if shearer wasnt injured id think about calling him back)
Joe cole should stick to the left as we need the balance of havin him there, gerard can just roam around causing havoc with carrick in the holding role, and hopefully owen up front.
Good decision on havin Lennon there, but you just know him and Walcott will be one of the three that get cut from the fulll squad.
I just hope own hargreaves DIES before the tournament because id rather he fucked off and played for germany or canada beecause he is eligable to play for them.
Dowing im sure is mclarens decision.
Sven is such a week fucker i bet he reads the papers and picks the teams based on what they are saying, which he ovviously has by this selection.
