It was wet as shit and the Missus was a real cunt all weekend, couldn't even fob her off to her mates. Even paid for premium jamrags Smashed

Combined with probably the worst conditions I'd seen in a decade. What an absolute shambles.

It was so bad I actually fucking enjoyed Adele  Smashed

On another note, Muse were  Slayer Tomato Slayer!

Six months to go. Still bought the missus a ticket tho. (She threatened to go to Exit with her mate Leeroy otherwise).

the forest is probably the only thing I like about it. Saw mogwai there once, and as part of the road trip, check out 'Wardour castle'. it's the one that was on prince of thieves where brian blessed rides out.

Location is nice. and that's about it. really really nice. I guess the holy trinity of those types of fests in the south west would be green man, end of the road, and 2000 trees.
4  General / The Forum / Re: Where did people end up after carnival? on: July 07, 2014, 22:04:19
went to some houseparty on stokes croft where u had to say the word 'shenanigans' as if it was entry to a secret supercool mecca of house music and bohemian cocaine. stayed for half an hour but due to a severe lack of air con, fucked off back to the area near the incuman to try and get some leftover chicken as was hungry.

6  General / The Forum / Re: anyone reaching Secret Garden Party this year? on: April 03, 2014, 23:34:39
worth going once if never been before, but only once mind. full of london cunts like bestival (ughh) and if u wanted to avoid a munterfest then this is certainly not the one lol. security are also cunts there. cuntish festival full of cunts. good job i've never paid entry for the three times i've been  Pimp

highlights over the years:

- skatalites in 2010
- sat night fire show every year is sick.
- skreams random disco set in 2011
- the wonky bridge!

if boomtown is a munt fest for our friendly westcountry brothers, SGP is just that for those from the homecounties/ london.

if u want a proper festival then check out knockengorroch in scotland. that's a fucking festival right there  LIGHTAH!

Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein' everything, the time is goin'
Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin'
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends)

Your reign on the top was short like leprechauns
As I crush so-called willies, thugs, and rapper-dons
Get in that ass, quick fast, like Ramadan
It's that rap phenomenon Don Dada, fuck Poppa
You got to call me Francis M.H. White
Intake light tokes, tote iron
Was told in shootouts, stay low and keep firin'
Keep extra clips for extra shit
Who's next to flip on that cat with that grip on rap
The most shady, Frankie baby
Ain't no telling where I may be
May see me in D.C. at Howard Homecoming
With my man Capone, gumming, fucking something
You should know my steelo
Went from ten G's for blow to thirty G's a show
To orgies with hoes I never seen before
So, Jesus, get off the Notorious
Penis before I squeeze and bust
If the beef between us, we can settle it
With the chrome and metal shit
I make it hot like a kettle get
You're delicate, you better get - who sent ya?
You still pedal shit, I got more rides than "Great Adventure"
Biggie ("How are you gonna do it?")

bring it back to the harbourside, that was a winning formula! Sept is far too late in the year to be holding things like this in a field, surely?!

In terms of 'big' acts it seemed to have about the same as the average night at motion except spread over 2 days and umpteen stages. Too watered down.Better doing one day properly than 2 days half assed.

They could only sell tickets for the Saturday, 30ish, pack the headliners in, make the line up proper good and worth people spending money on and making the journey from out of town.

Then make Sunday completely free, no ticket needed, local bands Djs etc, old skool ashton court style. Should keep things busy on the Sunday....

Thank me later.

listen to this man!

the mansion party last year was also pretty good (as in it wasn't sh-t)
18  General / The Forum / Re: Brisfest on: October 04, 2013, 12:09:14
In regards to the above, of course 40 over a weekend is comparable to a one day event costing 20, but then a lot of people may only want to go for one day in the first place! To offer that will open up a wider demographic for punters to come down for example families who may only have one day free over the weekend!!

Is the debrief an open invite? Would like to attend if possible, brisfest still has a huge potential to be something great and a perfect way to end the summer Smiley
19  General / The Forum / Re: Brisfest on: October 03, 2013, 22:42:21
bring it back to the amphitheatre! worked fine when it was there and less of a faff to get too
20  General / The Forum / Re: Brisfest on: October 02, 2013, 14:30:52
reasons I can think of - bit ranty so apologies if it sounds like an attack as this isn't intended for anyone to get a rise:

- 40 is far too expensive. Had an artist pass anyway so shouldn't really grumble - Fab n Groove/ EZ were worth coming for still so thanks for putting them on  Two Thumbs
- shit lineup I mean couldn't really find anyone on the lineup that would really pull people in and give it that OMFG we MUST GO factor. Primal Scream? Really? I mean Hawkwind were epic last year but come on..
- jobsworth security/ stewards. Grrr.
- Not having the option of day tickets. Can't remember if they had em when it was still in town.
- The no-drinks on site rule. This is probably the biggest turn off.
- They should have called it 'Gloom Fest' - very sedate atmosphere last year, reminded me of modern-day glasto/ end of the road. This year was similar.
- Areas of the festival site which are just large patches of grass with nothing there.
- At least the Balloon Fiesta had the optimus prime truck and an array of jacuzzi shops  Tomato Bad Teeth

sad times, rip  Sad

have a feeling dodgy dealers are selling all sorts of fake drugs/ miscellaneous bad powders due to the already very well established fact that this is one of the biggest drug taking munterfestivals in the country - v. easy to make a quick buck there

at french tek they had first aiders and harm reduction crews in their droves walking around 24/7 - the authorities seemed to have had a very mature and progressive approach in response to what went on there. Every single driver was breathalysed on the way out too - fair enough I'd say.

What can the organisers do to help prevent something like this happening again?

Going for 24 hours in a coupla weeks, in between Phuket and Phi Phi (bezzie mates stag/ bday bash etc). Wondered if anyone's been to Bangkok and recommend places to go/ what their experiences were like? Not looking to resort to trip advisor or LP to figure out what to do..  We would have done all the whoring and gender swapping in Phuket so guess Bangkok we'd be looking for some culture, lol  Tomato Bad Teeth

sample itinery:

- arriving at 9am, few hours in the morning settling in to hopefully a luxury 5 * hotel with spa
- mooch around seeing a temple/ wat/ Indiana jones shit
- start drinking
- see a boxing match.
- and so on

definitely NO zip lining.

anyway, whatever the goal of this latest web spin, it's opened up a nationwide debate about it. They've had to do something to show that they're aware of the darker content on the web, and respond accordingly in a mass-populist way.

just to advocate a balance so that 5htp doesn't suddenly sell out

Quote
5-HTP is often taken by people coming down from MDMA to relieve post-MDMA dysphoria. The basis for doing this is that 5-HTP is a necessary precursor for the brain to produce more serotonin, and MDMA use depletes a person's natural serotonin levels, thus taking 5-HTP after a dose of MDMA could improve serotonin production. While the practice is common, no verifiable evidence could be found to confirm whether the practice actually works.

5htp is a by-product of tryptophan, an essential amino acid of which dietary sources include egg whites, cheddar cheese, porridge oats, and pretty much any meat
