I'm working my way through this atm! On on episode 9 of the first season, gotta agree with everything said about the cinematography, script and acting! I've found myself watching an episode every few days however, rather than a show like The Wire or Sopranos where I was literally watching about 3 or 4 episodes in a row. Not saying this is a bad thing, I think it's just the feel of the story, every episode feels like a chapter and I want a break after watching it, whereas other shows had me wanting to find out what happens in the next episode straight away. I'm gunna watch 'Oz' and 'The Shield' after Deadwood, HBO dramas FTW

If you do decide to get a HDMI cable I wouldn't worry too much about the price and type unless it is going to be very long or you will be removing it a lot. The price really won't make much difference unless it is over 5 metres then apparently the quality actually comes into play. Also the gold/silver thing, the only advantage of gold is that it doesn't tarnish so it would be a more stable connection.

Probably Buggsy for raw lyrical talent, but as far as actual records go I'd say Koast for producing an album that actually offered something different in these ukhh deprived times (no asslick) Also the Se Fire guys, did they ever release their album? I used to rate them, they still around?

|
on: December 24, 2008, 18:00:51

The 360 really is not much better in value, when you look at how much blu ray players cost it is in fact a lot worse. You need to buy an adaptor to get online (costing £55), there is no HD player, and you need to pay for your xbox live. A HD dvd player costs £30, but is of course pointless now that blu-ray is out, and microsoft havent announced any plans to make a blu-ray drive. However, blu-ray DVDs and players will come down in price drastically when the format actually kicks in and takes over standard def DVDs. The PS3 is only good for value as a blu-ray player because at the moment blu-ray players are so expensive. But who spends £25 on a film anyway? Once prices for the dvds and players go down I think a lot of people will regret buying a console solely for its blu-ray capabilities. Other things? Although the PS3 is more powerful, it's more difficult to program games for, that's why the 360 is more favourable for many game developers. Evidence for this is things like Left 4 Dead being 360 only, and the graphics on the 360 version of GTA4 being superior. Also the 360 controllers are better

I might be able to help you, but I'm not back in Bristol til mid-December? The standard freelance rate for a cameraman is £350 a day and I will be requiring an advance how about some Jerk chicken and a sly rub?!?! Sounds good What camera have you got? I have access to professional camera, lighting and sound equipment but it's all in London

General / The Forum / Re: I wonder how many of us will have jobs this time next year?
|

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the money-under-the-mattress brigade like our own Zammo here. But I do think my social budget is gonna be cut in half to afford rising costs over the next year. Don't forget, 2 months ago the utility companies raised prices by 30%, and most of us are soon to be getting our first quarterly bill at the new rates any time soon. Thats obviously gonna have quite a large effect on everyone, and ergo quite a large effect on luxury goods retail. Which may see us having job losses in retail and other tertiary sectors, and as thats the basis of our entire economy the whole thing is teetering on grinding to a halt (outside of the essential goods market).
No, we won't die. We probably won't even go hungry. But 'things are certainly not going to stay the same.
Of course, but I reiterate - that's fine with me! Like I said, smack on some jumpers, grow some potatoes, skip the fois gras and asparagus sun dried tomato blushed tasty flakes and enjoy the more important things. I just think it's sad that we're so dependent on the machinations of mass capitalism, bank credit and mortgages that we all shit our pants when something like this happens. @ Zammo, I'd imagine Roman, being as super rich as he is, understands free market capitalism, and 20 bill is a piss in the ocean to him. Where's my CD?

I'm gonna wade in here and say......
Currently in d&b there are A LOT of mcs who spit pure gun-related bars and talk constantly about ghetto stuff. when actually in 2008, there is fuck all gun crime in d&b raves and culture. It's just bravado.
Just cause Eks screams about semi-automatics and Bassman bellows about burying people does not mean that d&b attracts gun crime and that if you go to a d&b rave then you need to expect to be shot....
drum & bass is pussy music nowadays, the raves are so soft I wonder sometimes if it's even the same scene anymore, yet the mcs are more rudeboy than ever, so go figure that one out daily mail crew.
In february me and a friend were on the train on our way to FWD + rinse at 'The End' club in London when about 10-15 guys and couple of girls got on. One of them joked 'let's rob them' about us as they boarded The same guy then came over to us all friendly and told us how they were going to a D&B rave that night. He tried to sell us pills, coke and weed for the whole journey, which he was going to try and sell at the rave. He also explained how he wanted to 'beat the fuck out of someone tonight' several times. After hearing about his council house, his girlfriend's coke addiction, his many dogs and the fact he shot for a living the train stopped and his friend thought he saw police and said 'Is that Po Po cus we got shanks on us?!' I had a fucking AMAZING night and saw no trouble whatsoever at FWD and rinse Not saying you're point isn't true and this isn't a mere exception, just seems ridiculous when one particluar genre of music has been repeatedly targeted in this thread

If I could somehow go back in time and meet myself when I was 18 I am fairly sure that both versions of me would think the other was an idiot.
and I'm only 19! tbh i'm pretty much an idiot still (although i like to think less of a one than I was!) super scriptzor to that

it's quite possible that peoples imagined looks are preferable to what they actually look like...
After seeing the image people portray me as in the other thread (apparently Im some ugly chav), I actually prefer what i really look like lol Oi, Lady Sov isn't ugly for starters, and you look nice from your myspace pics

Guardian Not sure about the 'protector' part, if someone's risking harm to themselves deliberately I wouldn't tell them off. I wouldn't go to St Andrews park and shout at the K heads

saw it friday, amazing film, I felt it lived up to the hype. Heath Ledger was awesome, his energy as the Joker really drove the film. Two face's burnt side
