Here's a tracklist for the first half of the mix which I did, Guy will have to do the list for the second half because I haven't even been able to load it yet (which is frustrating!)...cheers for the positive feedback people, it's nice to hear such positive comments.

Nice one.
Any tips on compression? It tends to phatten up the sound, L
What do people mean exactly when they say "phatten up", they often say this about compression and I'm guessing it means that it makes the sound in some way larger. If we are accepting that Phatter mean larger, then compression on a kick drum will make it less "Phatt", I would describe the effect as something closer to tightness, you can make the kick sound more punchy and clippy so it will cut through a mix better but I think people mistake some increase in the "size" of the kick due to imbalance when when setting the gain so in the end they think it sounds better mostly because they have made it louder...be careful not to add a few db of gain compensation when comparing the original kick with the compressed one because this can fool you into thinking the compressed version is better. I feel that compression take away a significant portion of the low frequency enery out of a kick (but this is often a good thing)....if you're after a very heavy kick then multiband distortion, eq and some bit crushing like the Sonalksis plugin might be more use than compression in giving you a large sound. But then when you play it on a big rig rather than you're little speakers at home it'll be too big so you better compress it. Sorry i'm still a bit drunk from last night not really sure what or why I'm talking about.

Well that was a lot of fun. Well done all who took part, thought we were lucky to get through, had a blast Shame I smashed my controller keyboard in the semi-final (rock'n'Roll style), might have given them more of a run for their money in the final, but in fairness we were never going to beat them anyway so it didn't make much difference. Headphobe/Defazed worthy champions.

I always though Bob Scratchet was a good name for a turntablist especially if you cut up festive tunes.

There is plenty of good stuff being made but sadly much more bad stuff. Just stay away from the mainstream then you should be ok.
A few names of people making stuff that doesn't sound lame:
Si Begg Jnr Hacksaw Cursor Miner Senor Frio Synapse AL Tourettes Full Spectrum 214

Not sure where a manual can be found but just mess about with it for a bit, it's quite intuitive. Won't take you more than a few hours to get to grips with most of it. Any specific details and I might be able to help.
