have u ever had your heart ripped out by someone?

like in Mortal Kombat? No

i was telling him to follow his feelings. ever had a gut feeling about something? they are usually right. agreed your feelings may change but if you sit there thinking about the person you have split up with constantly then you obviously have feelings left.

You continue to miss the point. Of course he's going to follow his feelings. Why would he do anything else? If they weren't conflicting, why would he be here asking for opinions? And since WHEN have gut feelings generally been right? Sorry, but that's just plain nonsense.

this coming from the guy who complains about lack of female companionship in his life Roll Eyes maybe if you weren't such a geeky pedantic spaz you might be getting laid. you know what joe means, people use lingo like he did all the time. maybe you have mild asperger's? whatever NERD ALERT!
10  General / The Forum / Re: The thorny subject of long-distance relationships on: September 25, 2006, 14:50:56
i lived with my giirl in bath for 6 yrs, then i relocated to the US while she stayed. we were apart for 2 years and saw each other every 3-4 onths or so for a couple of weeks. the hardest thing was saying goodbye at the end of those trips, knowing you wouldn't see them again for time. yeah we chatted every day (cheeeers skype), but it ain't the same y'know. now she's moved over and it's all sweet again, but those 2 yrs were blagging. like lata said, comms is so important as is really giving a shit about each other. we got engaged on nye a couple of years ago, then i think we celebrated at the hijack  bash at timbuk 2 if my memory serves me right. you've got to have a plan, LDRs do work, but only if you are absolutely into the person you're with(goes for both parties obviously). we spent a lot of time chatting about how we could finally be together rather than bemoaning the fact that we were apart.

good luck to all the LDR souljahs Two Thumbs

proper scapegoat i reckon.

if anyone's been actually following the case closely, which it doesn't look like too many have Bad Teeth, you would know that he got tried on assumptions... the prosecutions case was built around the fact that if he had given up the information he supposedly had (which they don't know he would have done), 9/11 would not have happened... there's no way for them to be concrete about that.

and besides what about all the warnings the CIA and FBI received from foreign intelligence agencies? didn't do much with that info did they Roll Eyes

still with it being the US, i'm glad they didn't just murder him

this is absolutely classic. the media has been editing this out of news broadcasts on the event, instead playing up the other part of the show where they had a dubya impersonator. he wasn't anywhere near as controversial as this guy - stephen colbert. check out the awkwardness at this posh dinner as they're forced to listen to a few home truths. this guy has massive cojones. it's a 20 min 3-parter. enjoy

31  General / The Forum / Re: It's St Georges day tomorrow on: April 22, 2006, 23:37:05
it's a day to celebrate english culture. the trouble with the english is they're so anal. to have a good time.you need to drink, to show any signs of emotion is betraying that stiff-upper lippedness we're all supposed to have and god forbid we indulge in any patriotic jingoism except when it's for the queen.

what is being english anyway? i don't think a lot of english people actually know. what english culture is there to celebrate? punksi,i don't know you from adam, but from your posts i would describe you as anti-any kind of forced authority. so if you think your flag is another symbol of this authority, i can see why you're against it.

on the other hand it is earth day and i guess we should be one happy family and not support anything that creates barriers between us all. but it's not the flag that did that, it's people. english culture and history is rich and varied and sometimes brutal. but you can celebrate the good things and make everyone feel really inclusive. lots of different cultures want to share in our national day, and they would if only we could prise it away from being the symbol of the BNP/NF that it has become.

happy st george's day everybody

32  General / The Forum / Re: so ive developed a wheat intolerence.... on: April 13, 2006, 21:35:20
I have covered this ground so many times with people, and have spoken to a number of med students and doctors about it and I've come to my conclusions mate. I suffer from a fair few allergies and I understand them and they don't act in the same way that people explain their intolerances. I just believe it's blaming regular nausea symptoms on a scapegoat. But like I say Joe, I may be wrong, and I may develop an intolerance tomorrow and get converted. I genuinely hope that cutting those products sorts you out and don't wish you any pain or suffering. But I just don't believe that intolerances are what's causing it. OK?

Jack, you can be astoundingly arrogant at times.

The demographic with the fastest growing HIV infection rate at present is heterosexuals. this suggests that being a 'gift giver/bug chaser' as dualist so charmingly put it, is not restricted by sexual preference. also many people remain ignorant about their infection and so give/receive unkowingly. i suspect there are very few who actually go out of their way to infect/get infected.

43  General / The Forum / Re: skanking threads from DOA on: April 05, 2006, 17:27:47

that's kind of my point tho, the comedy value of the posts he's skanked is negigible at best, so i think he should have just linked to the originals - they are just a mouse click away after all!!

and telling jokes you've heard elsewhere, even if they're shit, is way cooler than trawling internet boards looking to plagiarise supposedly amusing threads.

50  General / The Forum / Re: Media Blackout after Charlie Sheen attacks 9/11 on: March 29, 2006, 17:59:26
Argh, I deliberately didn't look at that thread because I am so tired of having talked about it ad nauseum!

i think those planes could have easily taken down the towers on their own, and any evidence that says they couldnt is completely unscientific

I don't really want to get into a massive debate about it now, but a vast majority of the independant studies I've seen of the buildings collapsing suggest otherwise

Script neither do i.. but what exactly is that based on??

Edit: and what kind of truly "independent" authority can afford to research into doubting major events like this, to the fullest extent and remain independent? someone must be funding them..

the scientific evidence is based on simple physics. a plane flying into the building may have weakened the structure enough that it gave way and began to fall. but this does not explain the time the towers took to fall to the ground.

they fell at nearly free-fall speed, that is to say the part of the tower above where the plane hit and which began to fall, encountered virtually no resistance on its way down, certainly not enough resistance to increase the fall time significantly. the towers had 47 steel central core columns. the ones around and above the plane may have been damaged enough, but the ones underneath, although possibly weakened should have provided enough resistance to if not prevent the collapse, surely slow it down.

basically as prof steve jones from brigham young uni in the US says ' Where is the delay that must be expected due to conservation of momentum one of the foundational Laws of Physics?  That is, as upper-falling floors strike lower floors and intact steel support columns the fall must be significantly impeded by the impacted mass.  If the central support columns remained standing, then the effective resistive mass would be less, but this is not the case somehow the enormous support columns failed/disintegrated along with the falling floors'
