FRIDAY 01 MAY 2009
BLEEEP
THE TUBE

Bleeep take charge of Bristol's most intimate underground venue, The Tube, for one of those beautiful, beautiful nights that can only be described as a Bank Holiday Friday!

This month we are joined by Tom Rio, Chief Head Eater of the hordes of Just Jack - the undisputed heavyweights of underground house and techno this end of the M4. Having recently rocked some of the city's biggest and best dancefloors, his brand of wonky tech house should reach new levels of madness in our tiny techno tunnel! Hold on to your shoes!

And as if that wasn't enough we have local tech hipster Lukas, a man who needs no introduction to anyone who appreciates the finer side of things in this city.. Fresh from recent excursions at the helm of some incredible Yacht Rockin' Beats experiences and one fourth of the sublime Buoyancy parties he's joining a very lucky JT for a back to back set of glorious proportions.

Last but by no means least, late night tech-support will be provided by young upstart James Deviant, whose melodic and driving selection has been an instant hit at Bleeep Towers. He's everywhere right now but catch him at the only party you'll ever need (til Sunday) - the Bleeep Bank Holiday Blow-Out!

May Day! May Day! We're going doooooooown...

BLURB

03 APRIL 2009
BLEEEP
THE TUBE

This month we have two new hunble offerings for the late night party people of Bristol, and they're both corkers!

First off, fresh from a year spent rocking some of the world's biggest dancefloors (Space, Glastonbury '08, Gatecrasher SSS, Eden, Privilege to name but a few..), and hot on the heels of the recent sigining of 'Juggernaught' (as Deepgroove alongside Jamie Anderson) to none other than Sven Vath's Cocoon records, we welcome Lee Pattison to our techno tunnel of love to show us how he's been setting the floor alight across the globe. Prepare to be devastated!

And providing late night 4-deck tech support we have Bristol's favourite prodigal Frenchman Damien Schneider. Following the much rued disappearance of Damien's Cuisine night, by far one of the most innovative and most loved techno nights to ever grace the Bristol club scene, opportunities to see him in action have been sadly few and far between - which is why we're so happy to have him down! I could go on but words don't do the man justice, suffice to say he'll be showcasing new work from his all new Convex records - you'd be crazy to miss out.

Support comes courtesy of Bleeeps very own techno barons Olie von Goochenburg and JT.

Hey..

Hey JT - I still have your scarf (and a rather fetching blue ladies' hat) that you left at mine last time you were there. If you're ever town-ward let me know and I'll try and catch up with you to give (at least the scarf) back.

18  General / The Forum / Re: BBC Discussion on Drugs - Please Read :) on: February 19, 2008, 00:36:40
Hey..

Chris, like Wovs said that's not my words in the first post - i agree with you and said that i wouldn't be able to give an unequivocally positive take on drugs, and to be honest i don't know anyone who's that oblivious to the realities. But maybe there are people who are willing to just speak about how they haven't found taking drugs wholly negative?

Yeah the tv bit is a bit off-putting.. maybe they can cover up your face and disguise your voice  OMG Death Star!!!11
19  General / The Forum / BBC Discussion on Drugs - Please Read :) on: February 18, 2008, 14:14:27
A friend of a friend has asked me if I know anyone who might be interested in going along to a discussion next sunday, here's the email -

"The Big Questions - a Sunday morning BBC discussion show - is coming to Bristol next Sunday (24th Feb) and one of the topics we'll be discussing is something along the lines of 'Are Britain's drug laws too lax?' - it's a fucking joke, I know.

Basically we need someone to make the point that drugs are actually not nearly as bad as people say - they're less dangerous than booze or sky diving, most of them don't make people violent, they're fucking wicked fun and that it's ridiculous that you can already be sent to prison for half you life for doing something that doesn't harm anyone else. We need them to make points such as 'you're more likely to die the first time you try peanut butter than the first time you try ecstacy' (one of my favourite facts ever).

We also need them to say on TV that they have tried drugs, though they don't have to go into the details if they really don't want to."

If this looks like something you might like to do, just pm me and I can give you more details, they can send cars to take people there and back on the day.

cheers, jt

37  General / The Forum / Re: house prices, am I missing something? on: November 16, 2007, 14:55:02
Yar house prices would only generally go down if there was a big economic downturn so you'd be less likely to be able to afford to borrow money in any case. When they say that house prices are cooling off it just means that they're going up at a less ludicrous rate but prices will always continue to rise because the price is driven by the demand for them (which will continue to rise due to population/economic growth) but at some points the supply of available houses (new and old) will outweigh demand for a bit and allow prices to stabilize for a while whilst the available stock is used up. Then it's up again. I suppose it's all about buying at the right time and in an area that's likely to show high levels of growth which would increase your purchasing power. Apparently you can't buy a house in montpelier at the moment and st pauls and easton are going the same way but if you look at somehwhere like greenbank or redfield there are places at reasonable prices that are bound to rise considerably in 5/10 years. Also I don't think it's developers and the like that are intentionally pricing people out of the markets due to greed - it's just that people are seeing the benefits of property as a long term investment more and more which leads to increased scarcity and higher prices.

Oh and we've only got Gecko and Richard Carnage playing as well. All this, for FREE..
