Hey pop pickers.

I need to get an hour of tunes of similar genre and tempo as 'Tar' by Lazer Sword:

Any suggestions?
4  General / The Forum / Re: Iphone 5 on: September 25, 2012, 13:22:58
I love it - apple makes one of the most advanced operating systems in a mobile device ever, and people are moaning about maps!

Of course people are moaning: iOS 6's maps are a MASSIVE downgrade on iOS 5's.

Apple Maps will improve over time (Google Maps was hardly amazing to start with), but as things stand, while they are nice to look at, they are more than a bit broken if you want to find things like tube stations. Or be able to see the difference between an A and a B road.

The inevitable Tumblr is quite amusing: http://theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/

I witnessed a women in the Apple Store yesterday getting so mad about the maps it was like it was a Beadles About sketch.

The trouble with a lot of these actors/singers turn artist, is that most of them have very little technical ability. They may have some good ideas, but none of the talent to pull it off.
7  General / The Forum / Re: Is there anywhere that does Man V Food style challenges in town? on: September 18, 2012, 12:03:38
Went to Atomic Burger and it was nothing to write home about. Weirdly intrusive service (when someone takes my order I don't want them to sit at my table, stay on your feet you lazy fuck), underwhelming food (dreadful bun and pretty bland meat), and to top it off overpriced. Unfortunately I advised a colleague to go before I'd been, she had what sounded like an even worse experience.

Any hop... check this shit:

It's a counter-demonstration. They're not suggesting that the EDL can't march.

I know I've come into this three pages late, but the price of living in a free society with free speech will result in people saying things you don't agree with. Ignore if you don't like it.

17  General / The Forum / Re: Gloucester on: June 07, 2012, 12:46:43
I grew up in the Five Valleys and all the best parts of that area is everything but Stroud. The nightlife is piss poor, it's just pubs. I moved back there for 6 months last year and almost went crazy with boredom.
Saying that I would raise kids there, great for families.

20  General / The Forum / Re: Prometheus (Alien Prequel) on: June 06, 2012, 13:05:25
I also thought that casting Guy Peirce to play an old man seemed really pointless. Why not just get an actual old man to play the old man?!
(I am aware of the viral clip that was put out, it just seems a little bit daft when even with all the advancements in make up and effects, it's still really obvious it's not an actual old man).

(I am also aware I just wrote "old man" too many times).
21  General / The Forum / Re: Prometheus (Alien Prequel) on: June 06, 2012, 12:52:53
Charlize plays a good frostyknickers but also has one of the cringeyest state-the-bloody-obvious lines in the whole film - I pitied her having to deliver it.

England really don't have many World Class players any more do they?  Eek

I think world football as a whole is in a bit of a lull in terms of genuinely world class players. Two players head and shoulders above the rest, and then a sea of almost but not quite there folk.

That couldn't be further from the truth.

Ooh a Hijack religious thread. See you in 10 pages!

This is why I was questioning the motives of the thread. Hijack seems to be to made up, almost entirely of atheists and agnostics ranging from the couldn't care-less to the militant atheists with quite a few degrees in between. Surely this is very evident.

An answer of "why yes, yes I am, I go to church/mosque/`Druid shrine every Sunday" is only going to expose those people to a barrage of piss-taking and disagreement. By the time you hit your late 20s/30s it's going to take a lot to change your mind about religion, and I doubt any change would come from an internet thread. So again, why are you asking? Why are you curious? Why does it matter?

If there are religious people on here who have been on here for a while they'll know the deal (keep quiet or 10 page argument), if they're newbies then they won't be prepared and it'll be (pun slightly intended) like lambs to the slaughter.

Nothing constructive can come out of this

As dear old Pops would say, topics of religion and health kill good conversation.

How are any threads on here "constructive"?!

You really have to stop being so bloody precious about your internet forum.

Personally I find conversations about religion very important and stimulating, we are after all talking about the biggest world views there are. Or shall we talk about what happened in the Grand Prix or on I'm a celeb?

I now hate Christians a little bit more.

very important and stimulating.

That doesn't look like a conversation, that looks like a sarcastic throw away remark on a stupid video made by a vicar.

What is the best cheap option, and will I need to sound proof every wall or just the wall connecting to my neighbours house?
41  General / The Forum / Re: Deadline Day 2012 on: February 15, 2012, 12:02:04
Apparently Morrison doesn't make the bench much as he'd prefer to hang out on "the streets" intimidating witnesses than turn up for training.  Fergie's fairly obviously not a big fan of that.

He IS good from all I've heard / seen.  United have tried quite a lot to get him to behave (including, hilariously, Gary Neviile offering him a room in his house).  Wouldn't be surprised if he either massively makes it or fades into obscurity.

Hasn't even played a game yet and he's got himself charged by the FA.

The kid clearly doesnt understand where the inequalities are coming from, that doesn't make his actions futile or reactionary. The interviewee is the idiot for trying to justify the kids inability to understand, as the message of the whole occupy ting. With purposefulness too. the kid was right in saying poor people pay more tax, this is a fact. poor people pay more as a % from their weekly wage compared to the richest in society. In the uk its up to 50% whereas the rich can pay nothing due to the masses of interest generated on their perpetually increasing wealth. The numbers can be manipulated but they dont lie.

Did you watch the same video as I did?
What I saw was someone who wants everything handed to them on a plate, and big nanny government to sort it out for them. How is the interviewer an idiot for pointing out this kids complete lack of sense and knowledge of the situation?

A lovely winter side of red cabbage braised in cider:

make layers of red cabbage, granny smith apples, soft brown sugar, onion, mixed spice and seasoning until you fill a pan, the  pour in a bottle of dry cider and three or four tbsp of red wine or cider vinegar. Dollop a chunk of butter on top then bring to the boil then simmer on low heat for 1 & 1/2 hours. BO!!
