It was a social club (I think) that boosted it's income by letting lots of space cadets roam about for Captain Tinrib, Tribe of Frog and Ripsnorter nights. You went in and there was a dancefloor room to your left, downstairs there was the sweatbox room playing really hard stuff and a chill out room full of people stroking their own knees furiously. Just before you went upstairs, if you got there early enough you may have chanced upon the freakiest room there, the front room of the social club where all the old dears had been herded away from the space cadets, which was a scene quite hard for your brain to cope with in context with the rest of the club. So upstairs there was the best room (imo) the pool room. No, not some swanky ibizaesque pool party room, just loads of cadets trying to remember what colour ball they were meant to be hitting playing pool, with the tombola man himself DJ Derek on the decks and cups of tea being served til daylight  Slayer. The coat room was right at the top, the stairwells were always hectic and I just about remember freaking out on shrooms and sitting hiding under a table up there for a long time. That's my memory of it anyway  Grin

Script  lol, that's bang on, those stairwells were insane; i never got to see the pool room though Sad.  Went to a few Miguels Gabber Kitchen nights at depot "back in ze day"

The soundsystem was sounding properly sick for the dubstep,  once the dnb came on later and the mixer got redlined it wasn't so good though :/ .

It was way too loud for the size of the venue [/old man]. I left when the dnb came on as i couldnt take it anymore.

All this nostalgia is waking me weepy. Can anyone tell me a good Emulator, and exactly how to work the bugger. Tried doing one ages ago, but my mind was fuggy, so it seemed impossible.

it can be a bit tricky as you need the emulator, the amiga kickstart ROM (the image of the amiga OS) and the ROM's of the games. its also not really that reliable - usually 1 in about 8 games work

Luckily, it can all be found here...   http://www.freeroms.com/amigalist.htm

remember, you can only download the roms if you actually own the game    Wink

I do have UFO and Terror from the Deep working on PC if anyone wants them?

check out UFO:Alien Invasion     open source, 3d update of the UFO series...      for linux, mac os + windows

not by the original developers but mighty fine, still

http://ufoai.sourceforge.net/

windows installer is here:-  http://puzzle.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ufoai/ufoai-2.2-win32.exe

anyone remember the amiga demo scene??

"Jesus on E"  was probably the most famous

watch and RAVE!
22  General / The Forum / Re: For those of us who had Amigas on: April 11, 2008, 16:59:07
The amiga was brilliant (apart from that stupid disk screen on the start up) - many years of entertainment. Some of my favourite games were Brutal Sports Football, IK+ and Master Blaster. Speedball was ok but you couldn't see where you were going half the time. Super Skidmarks was bang on the money and UFO: Enemy Unknown was my all time favourite - still play it now sometimes

2 - New Zealand Story
4 - Pinball Dreams
7 - Pinball Dreams again
13 - Formula 1 Grand Prix
16 - Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge
17 - Moonstone: A Hard Days Night  (amazing game!)
26 - Super Frog
40 - Lion Heart (another amazing game!)
45 - Alien Breed

98 looked like alien breed again...   can't be bothered to look through any more - i'm gonna download an emulator. NERD ALERT!
