whoever put up the pic of the camp from ontop of council building view , can you put up another to show how the camp has grown since the start. I'm very much hoping to run roots reggae sundays at the camp , which'll pretty much comprise of me and my bredrin lee putting my 12volt rig on the roof of the shack and playing the finest of roots music and dub with me occasionally chatting on mic . the yute dem that I've met down there seemed to have really gravitated to the cause and have learned to act responsibly even when being attacked by wankers trying to fuck with the camp, they will do anything to not jepordise the camp.

27  General / The Forum / Re: 12 Riot vans n glos road... (Cheltenham Rd Riot) on: April 30, 2011, 18:50:18
when I was walking home last night I saw 6 riot vans parked by the fabric land cabot circus so i decided to go have a chat with them about recent madness on the streets.

1 thing the officer I talked to said was that civil unrest was due to was oppression and I quickly highlighted the fact that they where the foot soldeirs that helped maintain that oppression as it was the agenda of the ruling elite and capitalism is centred around control by force.

the officer could not argue with that.

he then said well us police are just pawns  to wich I had to point out that if the ruling elite didn't have the police / army to protect their agenda they have nothing so instead of pawns the police are the moist important piece in the whole game.

if they turn to the masters and say no we are now working for the good of the majority and are going to make sure equality comes to be the norm then there is absolutley nothing the ruling elite /central government can do about it.

he did not argue or try and tell me I was wrong I could see the realization happening in his head through his silence body language.

I then put to him that if someone/ some people (the ?% that hold 95 % of the planets monetary wealth) was in the position to sort out all the  problems in the world that we face causing so much suffering and misery and they didn't do that is that not illogical , immoral and unethical  the officer looked at me with a look of I can;t argue with that 1 single bit again he was realizing who the real criminals are the super rich  his bosses bosses .

I put it to him that untill the police can turn to the people at the top and say you behavior is totally immoral , unethical and illogical so we no longer do what you want and will  no longer enforce the laws that keep society in a state of inequality stripping the rich of there power the ability to send police to squash the people trying to attack the assets of the rich and then helping share out all the monetary wealth to let everyone live well and have a fair share of land . untill the police / army rwalize they have the ultimate responsibility to the citizens of this nation nothing can actually change for the better.

that officer is now on the path to realization of his colleagues real responserbility to the majority.

communication is the lkey and any time I can speak to the police to let them know they are not our enemy I will do so and eventually if everyone helps teach the police how they can stand together and make change happen it will.

the key is morality .  ethics . logic   = truth   .....   I challenge anyone to argue against that (you can not)
28  General / The Forum / Re: 12 Riot vans n glos road... (Cheltenham Rd Riot) on: April 29, 2011, 18:43:30
I'd like to leave the city and live a peaceful life tucked away in some woods somewhere not bothering anybody being self sufficient and my protest would be by stepping off the chess board of capitalism instead of complaining about it. there are other people who also want to do this , unfortunately  the system that we live in does not allow that,  even if you buy the land you are forced to ask for permission to build what you want on your own land and expect to pay taxes even when you aren't using any services that taxes pay for. some people do not want to contribute to the greed of life funding arms dealing crooked corporations such as the one we live under.

if the government would just let us have a separatist society , never gonna happen as a peaceful un greedy basic life could start to catch on when people see the lack of stress and trouble it creates.

thought I'd just splurge that out like a sea horse jiz .

a government by definition is a group who have a monopoly on violence to achieve whatever it wants, all the troubles we see are the result of inequality build upon the greediest totally manipulating everything as this behavior is so deeply seeded in some people that they can only see is as being a real big achiever .

control the food and all the slaves have to behave , hoiw many of the population have the ability/space to grow enough food and collect enough water to not be dependent on corporations in many ways
29  General / The Forum / Re: 12 Riot vans n glos road... (Cheltenham Rd Riot) on: April 28, 2011, 17:14:38
this is a realistic reason why the riot happened and highlights the police not acting correctly to the supposed threat.

So can anyone confirm whether it's gonna kick off or not?

Not sure whether it's worth the journey if it's just gonna be a gay pride gathering.

I reckon it will kick off - suns out, day off tomorrow, and swampy is energised after being oppressed in Werburgh's last night.

Reckon you will get loads of out of towners just coming for the ruck to be honest, its been on the telly and that.

If the road gets blocked the coppers will have to get involved and no doubt hilarity will ensue.

Yay for riots!

Police have been over reactionary and antagonistic and overly zealous in their methods
Rioters smashed up the place without really knowing what the hell they were fighting for...

Occasional Cinema stopped by police in Mina Rd Park

Wednesday 27 April 2011
There seems to be a confrontation building in St Werburghs this evening. Police turned up and stopped the Occasional Cinema event in Mina Road Park, presumably because of the planned showing of the first full film on the Stokes Croft riot of 21st/22nd April.

A 'peaceful Stokes Croft protest' had been planned for tomorrow, 28th April in Stokes Croft and Facebook numbers pledging to attend had already topped 500 before the Facebook site was pulled. Today protest spokesperson, 'Oli' announced the event was cancelled because of concern that it might 'attract larger numbers than originally expected and potentially get out of hand'.

So this evening's Occasional Cinema in St Werburghs became the focus of police attention, despite the fact that such events in the past have always taken place peacefully with the organisers even clearing up after them.

At least a hundered people then started to drift north up Mina Road and police, trying to anticipate their movements, brought several police vans and at least a dozen officers to points at either side of Mina Road tunnel and to Watercress Road by the City Farm.

The crowd congregated at 'Banana Tom's' house in the Ashley Vale allotments with people continuing to arrive at dusk and the police helicopter circling overhead. Three individuals were seen to wheel a stacked sound system rig down the footpath from Ashley Hill with the music pumping out over the normally quiet allotments. It appears to be a stalemate at present but the police were apparently threatening to use anti-rave legislation although the event was now taking place on private ground.

Told you something was up!

I helped typowriter set up the screen to project on in mina road park and dealt with the police from the 2nd they arrived untill they left us to get on with it in Banana Tom's garden , south blessed has all the good footage and I'm sure I can link you to it once it's edited to show you what went down , turn out for the event was large.

now I gotta go to trinity police station to collect the confiscated screen  greeeeaaat.

ok, just wanna get this a little bit straightened!

hundreds of police turned up, all in riot gear, most of them were not from avon and somerset most probably had to travel an hour or more to get here!!

and they were there before the riot happened?Huh  WTF.

so the police travelled for more than an hour with full riot gear for a riot that hadn't even started yet.

they definitely wanted a media piece otherwise they wouldn't have started a riot huh.

^ that is my house mate Kryton  not Ras Search .  I live in a squat to , I must be terrible ..

the high ranking officers were passive intelligence gathering when chatting to us , but they clearly stated that the tory hq was allowed to be smashed in the london riot as the police don't like their bosses also the officers said the media will never photo them chilling with us on the steps the day after as they only want the tension smasshy smashy and fire pics.

I have no problem with tesco staff at all and no one see's them as targets  the bosses / owners of tesco however that's a different matter all together.

training exercise to create a media spectacle , 4 people in a building, some of which got abit gobby possibly . ties in nicely with anti squatting law thing and anti protest anything in general . I know alot of people who where on the frontline and people who have lived in telepathic for along time not the recent additions since they partied the place before eviction day (wednesday)

the chant of the night who's streets our streets.

I stayed at home as I didn't want to get caught up in the madness.

people learned that night that they can take on the police if they have the numbers, and if it happens again riot shields and battons and pepper sprays will be pulled from the cops and burnt, I don't wanna see cops having rocks and bottles thrown at them, I don't want to see anyone hurt , but untill the police serve the people first instead of a select few super wealthy folk who are actually vile evil greedy fuckheads.

tesco should be targeted  not coz of some bollox gentrification of an area of bristol but simply because they exploit farmers and producers of goods all over the world everyday and in this country we can stand up and speak out for those who get shot down far away if they try to stand up to exploitative ways.

when the placards and peacefull anti war marches don't stop shit then smashing shit like stores of corperate crooks and burning police vehicles makes the ruling elite worry when that'll get brought to their private home.

I was there the next days sitting on the step by telepathic chatting to 3 high ranking officers about it all, me and various people who live at telepathic , the cops were fine and know they are being screwed by the torys like us all, cops will unite will the common people of this country as soon as we design the way for them to do it easilly and have the army on side aswell.

more revolutionary info soon come.

You can't withdraw Tesco from the argument.
The moaners are openly anti-capitalist and therefore against anything that involves money, including the influx of a large amount to gentrify an area.

My intention wasn't to withdraw Tesco from the argument.

I'm not trying to have an argument.

I would simply like to know....

Fuck it. I don't actually care.

Yes you do care. Clearly.

AS for your original question.... Tesco is so far the only big company to have tried to open up there, we can assume that others doing so would receive a similarly frosty welcome. Any proposal for new flats tends to meet with opposition too. There was minor opposition to the AUDI garage development but thankfully it didn't capture the popular imagination. There was huge opposition to redevelopment of Lakota. I happen to agree with that one; Lakota should be viable as a club, and a good one at that. But the attitude that people would rather see it empty/squatted than redeveloped is just silly. And that attitude prevailed amongst the PRSC crew. Unfortunately without those doors being opened then further gentrification will be slow to happen, but I think it is reasonable to anticipate it being protested when it did happen if it involved multi-nationals.

Also it is worth mentioning that the council b2b english heritage don't exactly make it easy with their insistence on keeping some god awful falling-to-pieces buildings down there, which stand on prime residential real estate, on the list. Particularly that one the council are trying to put a purchase order on, the one with the big skull on the side.

my friends live there and will possibly be evicted at end of the month , although the date keeps changing .

In Westmoreland House? Isn't the reason no one has developed that place for years is all the chemicals in the ground? It's probably only barely safer to live in than the Fukushima power plant!

no sorry I thought you meant telepathic heights as it also has a skull on the side..
