2  General / The Forum / [MPS006] Ikkaku & D-Gelo - Wine / Out now on vinyl and digital on: May 13, 2011, 17:46:08

Ikkaku & D-Gelo - Wine
format: 12" and mp3
web: http://micropunto.net

TRACKLIST:
a. They Spilled Wine On Me
b. I Spilled Wine
bb. DubWine

Label bosses are back in tandem for the sixth release on Micropunto: Wine EP, which also marks the beginning of Micropunto Schallplatten's vinyl era.

Wine EP started as a back to back game after a spillage incident. Ikkaku and D-Gelo started producing two separate tracks in their respective stations and every half hour they swapped seats, building the tracks as they went along. The result is this musical experiment that sets the trend for all things to come from the Micropunto clan.

"They Spilled Wine On Me" kicks in with a deep lead stab from the catacombs. The elements appear on the scene in a stride to resurface. It goes up then down, left, rigth, it gets dubby, then back in your face.

In "I Spilled Wine" the beat unfolds steadily like a bulldozer coming up to the surface in search of the true sound. Soon we meet the preacher. With a subtle housy piano lead he puts us in the right track, reminding us that the dance floor is made of sand and we are on the river's bank. Listen to the flow... "Lord techno, you are my music".

Originally inspired from a dub tune featuring Ras Ajay from the Spaceship Sound crew in London, "DubWine" closes the triangle with a huge dub flare. Fat subsonic bass and broad stabs make this track a serious contender on the dub techno charts. It's the producer's blink of respect to the reggae culture that has inspired them all through the years, hence the vinyl release.

Already supported by Laurent Garnier, Slam, Pig & Dan, Phil Kieran, DVS1, Angel Molina, Electric Indigo, Sian, Tim Xavier, Timo Maas, Daniel Mumbling Sanchez, Dj Jerome, Anthony Collins, Arnaud Le texier, Sebastian Roya, Andrew Grant, Nick Warren, Expander and many more..

TRACKS: "ROACH"
"CLARKE"

Here exerts of the tunes at: http://www.myspace.com/corsarioriddim

There s a nice place near the centre called Cervezeria Catalana which is very nice but usually you have to que for  at least twenty minutes because it s not possible to make reservations...
Eat in one of the bars in the central market on the Ramblas (Mercat de la Boqueria) you can eat really nice seafood there!
Places to go clubbing: Apolo (Nitsa Club), BeCool, RazzMatazz, BeGood, Moog, Raum Club etc etc too many places anyway you won t get bored Wink
Go out in Gracia for nice little bars and drinks on squares (Take Line 3 to Fontana or Line 4 to Joanic)....plaza del sol is the most common square....
hope you have fun!

Check this release HERE

After a massive reflexive pause Micropunto Schallplatten comes back stronger than ever, offering you a new release from label head Ikkaku. With this release, the artist continues to define his vision of music, strongly rooted in Detroit techno.

The opening track, Northville, is techno with a strong old school feeling on the rythmic side.

Belleville unfolds gently into a punchy melodic groove, with sweeping atmospheres and quirky vocal stabs.

The closing track, Roseville, is filled with deep progessive production. Containing subltle dancefloor programming that rounds this release off perfectley.

37  General / The Forum / Re: Has Anyone Been to Rome??? on: June 27, 2007, 22:12:06
A couple of things you should do once there:

go to "San Lorenzo" for good food and very good bars...everything is quite cheap...you can spend the night in one of the squares there, it s a well known left wing neighborhood and you ll find there is a lot of movement going on there!  Wink

for a nice view of Rome go to the Gianicolo hill when the sun goes down you ll get one of the best views...

If you want to go partying the best places are the "Rialto di Sant Ambrogio" in the ex jewish ghetto in the centre or if you go a bit further away from the centre you can go to the Goa (a bit more commercial but you ll find some big techno djs playing there regularly)

Go to Piazza "Campo dei Fiori" for some late (touristy) night drinking in the square.

If you need cheap food you ll find very often little shops selling "Pizza al Taglio" which is pieces of Pizza that can cost you only a few euros....

Go for "vino della casa" (wine) rather than beer which is often quite expensive...

there is a lot more stuff you could do in Rome but it will take me long time to explain....
anyway hope this has been helpful....
