TBH the programming looks a bit gash this year...all the big names present and correct but a bit badly put together.
what i thought... loads of people i'd like to see, but they are all playing on different nights with loads of people i don't want to see

General / The Forum / under_score presents: Move D - Sat Oct 4th 2008 @ the tube
|
on: August 28, 2008, 08:12:51
|
yo yo yo here is the details of the next under_score. It's our 4th birthday in fact! and we've gone and got Move D to play at our night. under_score presents:Move D(Source / Warp / Modern Love / CCO / Liebe Detail / Philpot / Workshop / Uzuri )+ djs: Jim Petherwick Placid LMB (Triptic) Saturday 4th October 2008 / Tube / 10pm - 4am / £4 To help celebrate our 4th Birthday in finest style, we are very proud to welcome leading German house and techno producer Move D aka David Moufang for a special dj set. David is simply one of the most talented musicians to emerge from the German techno and house scene in the last 15 years, with a unique style that has always kept him one step ahead of his genre. It is a testament to the enduring quality of his music that releases for Warp and Source in the mid-nineties (noteably his benchmark album 'Kunststoff') seem hardly to have aged, while his sound has now been welcomed onto such über-hip labels as Philpot, Liebe Detail, Modern Love (home of Andy Stott and Claro Intellecto), Berlin imprint Workshop, the Süd Electronic affiliated Uzuri, and most recently Smallville, the label started by eminent techno producer Lawrence. Move D's dj sets are in demand across the world, promising a deep, solid and emotionally rewarding dancefloor experience, spanning the kind of raw party music which has informed his releases - bleeps & bass, acid, minimal detroit techno and classic US house. Is there a better way to celebrate four years of one of the most consistently on-it nights in Bristol? We think not, and we'd be chuffed if you could join us. http://www.underscoremusic.co.ukMove D Further Infos: For full Move D discography, artists statement and a recent interview with David, please follow the links below http://www.myspace.com/moufanghttp://www.source-records.comhttp://www.discogs.com/artist/Move+Dhttp://trickydiscobristol.blogspot.com/2008/07/tricky-disco-talks-to-move-d.html

yeah +1 for jamjar, i found them to be pretty easy to deal with. we normally just go to sprinters cos we only do black and white innartt.
does anyone know of a place that can print like this: unbleached board with 2 colours (ie not full cmyk, just black and one spot colour)

can you take a pic of the small mirror you see im growing a beard and will at some point need to trim it
no, i don't have a camera sorry. i'm sure it will do the job for trimming your beard, unless your beard gets massive and you only want to trim a very small amount from the end of it. how large is your large mirror?! Des it have a frame?
it is 28 x120cm actual mirror size, in a frame, with the frame it is 42 x 135 cm. the frame is a bit grimey because the person who left it here burnt it with hair straighteners. also the mirror itself is a bit grimey, not sure what the reason for this is but it's probably to do with hair straighteners as well. i think it will clean up alright.

I've been super secretive about it and everybody knows anyway I dont think EVERYONE knows Mr Basic. Im glad a few select people are in the know, its helps to build up hype. whats that? you booked the blackout crew?? ?? this should be a good night anyway, ramadanman is aces, and sherburne is the inventor of the term "global leisure marketplace" so it's sure to be good.

bump,,,
this weekend, you can still get tickets.
if you don't like listening to really good music in the middle of beautiful country side with loads of friendly people you will probably hate this, but if you like any of the previous you will probably find the event to be a lot of fun.

i tried to do a reedit of essence of a dream by risque iii the other week. the aim was to shift the emphasis of the track away from the sleazy k alexi vocal, and onto the amazing synth line. didnt finished it, but it was getting there. might go back to it at some point. the point being that edits are generally for drawing attention to bits of the track which might be otherwise be overlooked, and cutting out the bits which might be seen as a bit dodgy. and to make them more dj friendly of course. seems a bit weird to do it with acid tracks, as they are genrally full of modulations which you cant really place out of context without it sounding discontinuous. the reedit cd just sounds like an attempt to grab the attention of the kids, but then you already knew that eh sbd funny cos i was thinking about doing a reedit of computer madness that cuts out the bassline (although the bassline is still good) but keeps the amazing drum machine intro. i was also thinking of a reedit of Work that MF that cuts out everything but the 12 bit swearing.

wow that was a great evening!
feeling pretty good today, despite spent the best part of 18 hours at motion and getting up at 6am today.
all the music was good, but out of the few things I got a chance to have a proper listen to i really enjoyed blazey & scars, cridge smashed it, the bits of peverelists set i heard were really good, and errorsmith was insane and brilliant! plus damian at the end.
gutted that i didn't get much opportunity to check out out moritz or october.
thanks to everyone who came down, everyone who played and all venn crew, and everyone who helped out, especcially jimmy p, jamie and ben.

I've been thinking really hard about what to play at the Motion shindig and really can't decide.....I can't think of a crowd that's harder to guage....and by that I mean who will be there....hmm....
Yeah, me too. Suppose I've got it a bit easier doing the earlier slot. Packing a load of Krautrock, Psych and Post-Punk I think I don't even really know the layout of the room....I'm thinking it might be a bar area so something non-dancey/more avant-garde could be in order...then again I wanna make people 'ave it! avinit-garde..
