The Bristol Festival Launch Tickets at Unity!!!
THE BRISTOL FESTIVAL JULY NEWS [/u]
Its all looking good for the first Bristol Festival, a new community festival for the Southwest to be held on September 20th and 21st 2008, being organised entirely by volunteers (The Bristol Festival Community Group, Registered Charity no. 1124722). Its to be based at Bristol’s renowned Amphitheatre and across various city centre locations with at least 6 stages, circus shows, art exhibitions, cabaret, live art and more… all showcasing southwest talent! Not to be missed!
This year’s festival comes in two parts:
"Brizzolfest" is the main event location based in the Amphitheatre and Waterfront Square. This is where the main festival buzz will be with stages, tents, workshops, art installations, crazy costumed walkabouts and a whole host of unexpected delights. 11am-10pm both sat and sun.
"Rave-on-Avon" is the club night programme and the ticket will gain you entry into 10 different night clubs on Saturday night so you can carry on until the early hours of the morning and experience the best of the regions electronic music scene from drum and bass and dubstep, to house and electro. These tickets are only available in conjunction with Brizzolfest to over 18’s.
We are currently putting the finishing touches to the line ups (which are looking gert lush!) so don’t panic if you haven’t heard from us yet, all applicants will be notified either way within the next 4 weeks. Having said that there is still time to apply should you wish to perform. We are especially looking for more circus and street performers, cabaret acts and people to run workshops of any kind. Do drop us a line if you are interested to
perform@thebristolfestival.org.
Also we are currently recruiting more volunteers to help with anything from sales and office admin to stewarding at the event. With a new office in Bristol’s Old Vic building we have some fantastic space available so if you’d like to get involved in this rewarding project please email
getinvolved@thebristolfestival.org. More information about this year’s new festival can be found at
www.thebristolfestival.org.
Advertise With UsAs I’m sure you’re aware projects like this cost a lot to stage, with toilets, first aid, security, power, marquees etc, yet we are endeavouring to keep entry prices as low as possible. One of our main income sources comes from sponsorship, advertising sales and the selling of trade pitches at the event. To keep this festival and the dream alive the best way to support it is to help us raise the needed funds this way. So… if you or anyone you know would be in a position to sponsor the event, take out an advert in our programme or come and sell your wares please do get in touch! Your support will be greatly appreciated and go a long way to safeguarding the future of the festival, whilst also benefiting yourself or your company.
The printed programme will be available free and go out across the Southwest (20,000 copies) as well as online from the beginning of September. Adverts start at just £250 and there are discounts available to charities and small companies, please email
info@thebristolfestival.org but hurry as we go to print in a couple of weeks! Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to reach a wide and interested audience.
Trade pitches range from small blanket pitches to large catering van spots at a variety of prices to suit.
For more information and a full list of the superb benefits please email or phone us (07790 538768) ASAP. This is the best way you can show your support for the Bristol Festival Community Group, our yearlong charitable work supporting arts and music in the Southwest, and help sustain the festival for everyone to enjoy.
