Thats right people! A change of venue for FFTT LIVE! this month, but we're still staying true to our Golden Lion roots; a bigger venue and a bigger line up this month as we drag LAZY HABITS up from London before they head out on their summer festival road-trip. As well as providing some incredible live funky hip-hop, they'll be bringing along the one and only WAN DAN for some incredible human beatboxing.
We also have the one and only MR BENN purveyor of the finest blennds and quality dancefloor fillers, and his own unique mash-up bootlegs on RHYTHM'N'BOOZE. We had BENN down in London about a year ago and he smashed the place, so with the imminent repress of the seminal 'MESSAGE TO ODB' and the forthcoming release of LONG TIME featuring BLAK TWANG & BLACKOUT JA we thought it was about time his cHunky beats got an FFTT outing in Bristol. As per usual you can rely on the FFTT DJ'S; MR LINGO, POWERCUT & EWAN HOOZAMI to keep things rocking into the early hours with a funky mash-up of dancefloor treats.
----------------------------------- BIOGS --------------------------------------- LAZY HABITS; Originally the brainchild of one MC, Lazy Habits now stand as an eight piece live Hip Hop band. Merging elements of hip hop inc Decks (DJ Itchi) Rhymes (MC Lazy and Skin Horse) and Wandan, one of the UK finest Beatboxers, with a live band inc Drums, Bass, and a jazz based Brass Section.
Lazy Habits have performed at London’s best clubs from Cargo to Koko and the Jazz Café. They have also headlined their own sold out nights at the Water Rats and prestigious Marquee Club, and have smashed up venues across the UK, sharing stages with the likes of Sway (MOBO Award winner 2005); Akala (MOBO Award winner 2006); The Magic Numbers; Desmond Decker; Soulwax; The Heritage Orchestra and the Foreign Beggars among others.
Having already played some of the best festivals across the UK and Ireland inc Glastonbury, Edinburgh Fringe, Electric Picnic, Endorse-It and Secret Garden, Lazy Habits are already scheduled to play this years Blissfields, Two Thousand Trees, Sunrise and Endorse-it festivals among others with another show at Glastonbury also in the pipeline.
“Frankly awe-inspiring” - BBC.co.uk
“Next time someone mentions hip hop drop this lots name as a must see” “Lazy Habits are the future” – E-Festivals
“I used to believe The Roots were the only group who could excel at MC’ing backed by a live band, but Lazy Habits have changed my mind” - Great Scott, Undercover Magazine.
“Our new favourite band” - Lost vagueness
MR BENN; With a first-rate blend of reggae grooves and the chunkiest of hip hop beats, Mr Benn is pushing forward that unmistakable Bristol Sound. Praise has already been flooding in from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Steinski, Daddy G and DJ Yoda, following several successful releases on Leisure Recordings and mash-ups as Mr Blennd on his own Rhythm'n'Booze imprint.

Oh yeah? Is it going to be the same 7". I'd like it on a 12" (the 7" pressing was a teeny bit quiet) Oh, and good look for the gig, you lot.

Nice...power moves.
Lazy Habits were extra dope when they played Thekla for us a few years ago. East London fam Aaron's down for the Carnival that night so I think we'll be checking this.
