Safe,

I've got real good judgement when it comes to metal and hardcore shows, but although i'm well into hip-hop i've never really dabbled in the promotional side, it'd be good to get some feedback before I commit to anything.

Personally i'm game for seeing Necro, mainly to see the 'Gory Days' material live!!!

Do it bro. Although Im not living in Brizl at the mo, I would most certainly be there for that. Necro is a seriously dope artist. Although some his written material is a little twisted to say the least (check his tune about STD's) his production skills are top notch and generally hit with a bang. Ill Bill carries the same weight IMO.........all non-phixion stuff I have is dope....sick rhymes and again nice beats......

One thing I would say about Necro and co is that they are most certainly a more niche market type hip hop and would therefore maybe not pull in massive numbers however it could make for a really good gig in a smaller venue. Get some good local hip hop Dj's in on it too (sir beans, rogue, frenic etc) and you have one tasty gig there. Just my two cents worth..........d

IMO Necro due to his originality has a good crossover appeal, I know a lot of metalheads into his stuff too...reckon you could easily do this at The Croft with some support DJs in the bar...

Word. This is exactly why he's requested metal / hardcore promoters get involved.

If I do it its definatley gonna be at The Croft. I do all my shows there and every sell-out hardcore show i've done at The Croft has been absolutley amazing.

Is the Croft big enough??? It would be fucking awesome seeing him in there, but I think he would pull a lot more than the Croft could handle.... (IMO)

Ian (El Eye) really pushed him, I don't know exactly why, but he's responsible for the large amount of records produced or related to Necro in my collection. Including the video of I need Drugs, good times!

Safe,

My band are on the same distributor as Necro (Uncle Howie / Psychological Records), he's coming over in December and he's looking to deal with hardcore/metal promoters. I've been offered a date in Bristol, how many of you heads would be up for seeing Necro, Ill BIll and Mr. Hyde???

I've got real good judgement when it comes to metal and hardcore shows, but although i'm well into hip-hop i've never really dabbled in the promotional side, it'd be good to get some feedback before I commit to anything.

Personally i'm game for seeing Necro, mainly to see the 'Gory Days' material live!!!

So what you saying Hijack?

Mate saw Non Phixion at the Scala and went to the Necro show too - sold out and was NUTS!
If you want some additional support financially PM me as me and my bro might come out of promo retirement for a necro show!!!!
Trust me theres enough people in south west who missed london and would ram out a thekla sized venue fo sho!

nice, yep would definitely be there for this.. i think thekla would be good, but i would go for a weekend night myself.. i dunno with week days.. sometimes heads don't represent enough.. thekla is good too cos it appeals to hardcore heads as well as hip hop heads.. (not that the croft doesn't!) but it would be a shame to do it small in the croft imo.. but prob a lot cheaper for you i spose..

if it is just necro i would say croft but if it's Ill Bill as well.. go all out!

Looking forward to it!!

Too much of a constant sicko for me lyrically but I'd definitely come to check him live and Ill Bill and others too (full Non Phix?!) would extra dope. Doesn't Ill Bill have a history of no shows though?

I reckon The Croft would far, far too small...people would travel pretty far for this if he wasn't doing too many other dates. Thekla or Fiddlers get my vote too.
