I've been planning to get this online for a while now, I made this and a few other mixes to keep me happy whilst I was out of the country and away from my precious decks.....it's in the style of Seen, and reflects perhaps one facet of what you can hear down at their excellent, eclectic, all-things-funk nites. I really hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I got out of making it - it took a good coupla months of planning & practice to get the tracklisting right. Anyway, enough bibbling...... ThinKing - Broken Beats & Nu Jazz 80 mins 110Mb 192kbps
TracklistU R (Yam Who? remix) - Alison Crockett - Wah Wah 45s Sky's the limit (Yam Who? remix) - Raphael Saadiq - YAM records Even if it is so - Q-tip - Ra Ra Kissy face - Five Deez - K7! Yes, 750kbps as well, although theres only a 128kbps upload Sound like about a perfect ratio for basic websurfing, but usless for providing any content what-so-ever. @ Diccon: Did I just accidentally download 110Mb of bird song??

Yep. I am not very impressed with this, but its good enough to leech files off people, but not good if you want to share or transfer files. If we max out the uploads, all d/ls slow down, prob cos of the confirmation packets being delayed or something.

And whatever protocol, you still need some bandwidth to request stuff

I DLed this from some other site.
Definately my favourite mix this year, if not this decade! Absolutely top fkn stuff....... Ill b trying to buy quite a few of these tracks fo sure!
one quick question...the part where the tracklisting goes -
So you want more? (revox feat. Roots Manuva) - Ty - Big Dada So long - Mr Scruff - Ninja Tune Think twice - Detroit Experiment - Electric Soul Happy - Max Sedgely - IRMA
Im only hearing one track (sounds like Scruff) between what Im guessing is Roots Manuva and Max Sedgely....wots happening here in the mix, which track is wot?
cheers 4 tha mix, Joules

^^^ i think Ive figured it out.....nice mixing dude! glad to hear it took u a long time to make it though!!! (coz i certainly cant mix this sort of stuff this well on the fly)
geez, Im having trouble locating any of these songs online. Do u know any good online shops that sell this stuff (that hopefully arent too expensive?)!! Juno has a reasonable collection, but they charge a fair bit on postage
final q.- know where i can get any other mixes similar to this?

Hehe, yeah man it goes from So you want more? into So Long by Scruff, then that's faded into the Detroit Experiment toon very slyly - you can hear So Long fade out (the slower tempo) as the intro chords of Think Twice (slowish 4/4 toon) come in. It did take a coupla weeks to get the whole 80min mix down in 1 take that I was happy with - I refuse to cut & paste unless absolutely necessary. For broken beat and pirate soul, that sorta ting, I recommend: www.eatthebeat.co.ukwww.picadillyrecords.co.ukwww.goyamusic.comI reckon Juno is okay actually, but mebbe the P&P is a bit too pricy for Oz. I do know Chemical will be sorting out a broken beat section soon cos they've taken my mate on to do it. If you wanna CD in the post of the mix lemme know mate. Chairs for the kind feedback.

And another thing..... For good mixes of a similar style I recommend these very highly: Click here: http://arcae.renderful.com/potato/and download the freestyle mixes by Jesse Mann and Arcae (#7 & #9) which are both excellent (and they fit on one 80min CD ). I can sort out some rough tracklists if you need. On a more pure broken vibe try this: http://arcae.knottyknotty.com/potato.html check out the Jon Butler mix (T/L is in his interview), a very very nice mix.
